Scenes from Cardrona Ski Field in New Zealand. Cardona was our favorite resort to ski and snowboard on our trip in August 2018. It is a one-hour drive from Queenstown. See more of Cardona here: https://youtu.be/GFIWUF4pCbQ

We spent a week in Tokyo and Kyoto, and then flew to Hokkaido for a week in the mountains at Niseko United and Rusutsu resorts. It was our first time in Japan, so we soaked everything up. Some scenes from the preview that we will cover more fully in our VLOG: - Golden Pavillion (0:00-0:02) - Kiyomizudera Temple (0:02-0:03) - Shinjoin Temple (0:04-0:07) - Kyoto Samurai Experience (0:08-0-10) This was a truly fun and informative experience that we would highly recommend if you are in Kyoto. It was one of our highlights - Geisha (0:11-0:13). We happened across a genuine Geisha on the streets of Gion - Shibuya Crossing (0:16-0:17) - Omotesando station on the Ginza Subway line (0:17-0:18) - Chef Naomichi Yasuda at Sushi Bar Yasuda (0:24-0:25) - Poster in store in Akihabara, Tokyo, famous for electronics and anime (0:29-0:30) - Mount Yotei, volcano in Hokkaido (0:42-0:43) - And of course, Niseko United and Rusutsu ski resorts!

Big Snow is an indoor ski and snowboard venue that you can visit any time of the year. This was particularly great this summer in the United States, when the ski resorts of the entire southern hemisphere were closed to foreign travelers. Located in the American Dream mall in East Rutherford, New Jersey, it is a short drive from New York City. Because it is indoors, the hill is small. It may be best suited for those who are learning how to ski or snowboard for the first time, those who want to enjoy intermediate terrain, and those who want to practice tricks in a terrain park. You can bring your own gear or rent clothing and equipment at the venue. There are lockers where you can store your belongings while you are on the slopes. They do a great job at making it a convenient experience. 360 degree jump attempt? Maybe next time!

Your skis from the 1980s have been sitting around for decades. So have your clothes. If you still fit into them, why not break them out for a fun day of comparing to your current ski equipment? That is the plan for the next video. The K2 KVC COMP 8.3 from 1989 vs. the Head World Cup Rebels iSpeed from 2018.

Canada and the United States both currently have COVID-related entry restrictions in place. So is it worth traveling to Canada to ski or snowboard at Mont Tremblant? Aside from the tests and other tasks you must perform before you actually travel, how much of a delay will the restrictions cause? On this trip, very few. There were no delays on the way into Canada because of COVID issues. But that does not mean that it will not happen to you. You may be required to take a random COVID test when you arrive at the airport. To return to the United States, an extra 30 minutes was required to arrive early for a COVID test. But again, there may be a long line that requires more time than just 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Mont Tremblant, all is great unless the chairlift no longer works due to a power outage! The north side of the mountain lost power in the morning on Saturday, February 12, 2022. It caused the loss of a couple hours of skiing, which is unfortunate for a weekend trip. But it worked out in the end and it was a great trip. Tremblant is a great ski or snowboard destination, particularly from the United States, because it has such a European feel but it a lot closer than Europe.

Many of us listen to music when skiing or snowboarding. What about songs from the 80s? Are you able to identify one purely based on the lyrics? It can be challenging. See if you can, all while checking out Snowbird, Utah! There are some clues to help as well.

It seems like most skiers and snowboarders don t live near a ski resort. If that s true for you, what can you do to get more days on the mountain? This is what worked for me. During the pandemic, I spent a lot of time in the summer working remotely at my parents house. I didn t use any vacation time. That made me think, "Maybe I can do the same with skiing." I can go somewhere, work remotely during my normal work day, and ski outside of working hours. I live on the east coast of the U.S., so Europe is the perfect location. Because it s six hours ahead, I can essentially flip my normal work day. Most of us wake up, go to work, and then have down time before going to sleep. In Europe, you can wake up and have the downtime at the beginning of your day, while everyone back home is still sleeping. You can use that earlier downtime to ski or board. Then, when you end your day on the mountain, you go back to your accommodations and work remotely during the late afternoon and evening. I went to Europe for 3 weeks, spending a week at each of Zermatt and Verbier in Switzerland, and Les 3 Vallees in France. There were 14 working days during that period. I worked for 6 days, which amounted to slightly less than half of my working time there. I used vacation time for the remaining days. It worked out perfectly. Some tips I used that made a big difference: 1) Stay As Close To The Mountain As Possible. This is important if you want to maximize your time on the mountain. My work day starts at 9 am. That s 3 pm in the Alps. If you choose accommodations that require you to drive 20 minutes to the mountain in the morning, you re going to have to quit that much earlier to get back in time to start work. I was about a 7 minute walk from the gondola in Zermatt and a 3 minute walk in Verbier, so it helped me stay on the mountain longer each day. 2) Organize Your Living Space Well. It was much easier to come back and jump right into the work day by having specific areas of my living space designated for working, storing ski clothes, eating, etc. No need to spend time moving things around or cleaning up before a video call. 3) Plan Dinners Ahead Of Time. This was key. There was no time to cook or go to a restaurant to eat, which you might normally do on a ski or snowboard vacation, because it was the work day. Instead, I prepared some meals on the weekend so that I could just pull them out at meal time, or made frozen dinners that I had bought at the grocery store. 4) Think Of Additional Time Savers. In Zermatt, I rented a ski locker at the base of the gondola so that I didn t have to carry my skis and walk in my ski boots back and forth to my apartment. This was a big help when trying to get back in time to start work. In Verbier, I was only steps from the gondola, so no need to rent a locker.

I am going to stay up to date now, I promise… How? I now live in a van and have become a Senior Parachute Rigger learning and working at Skydive Deland. Why?... Because I saw a proximity Wingsuit video about 6-7 years ago and thought "Man... I wonder what that feels like. That s Freedom. That s Living life to the fullest" and ever since then it consumed my life. I have been dabbling in skydiving but this year I finally had the balls to pull the trigger and go all in... So here we are, meeting new people, putting all my resources into this, and getting jumps in weekly. The goal right now is to get to 170 jumps, then I’ll start going hard posting higher quality videos weekly here on YouTube. Till then ill still post random videos here and there. Ultimately I want to Document and share the Journey/Process. The Road to a Proximity Flight has started. Can you tell how stoked I am to be beck in the sky finally? Feels good to be back. Also Uploading this Raw because your man doesn t have Premier Pro right now and it gave me a good excuse to make a dirty play on words. Shout out Ol Dirty Bastard. Trust me the banger edits will get come in time.
