The most expensive mat in all these reviews although you can get it for $98 at YogaOutlet.com which has your low price guarantee. My first impression of this mat was that it has the fabric-like texture of the Manduka Pro Light Mat which I’ve already reviewed combined with that awesome dry grip of the Gaiam Sol, so really fantastic combination. Like all Manduka mats it needs to be broken in so don’t expect it to feel insanely sticky right out of the box. Let’s take a look at the specs. This mat is a cushy six millimeters thick and measure 71x26 making it two inches wider than your standard yoga mat. The material is of course that fabric-like proprietary Manduka close-cell construction which prevents moisture and slipping and keeps out bacteria. The Manduka Pro weighs seven pounds making it the heaviest mat in my whole review. I don’t even like having it on my shoulder right now. Sweat test time. I was happily surprised that even when wet this mat stays sticky and safe. Pros is that is has a nice texture. It’s sticky when moist. It’s nice and wide and it has a lifetime guarantee. Cons are that it’s expensive at a hundred dollars and it’s heavy. The Manduka Pro is my pick for yogis who want a hybrid mat with texture that’s still sweat proof. Those who attend school in the mountain village of Kumpur, walk across the mountains of the highest situated country on earth. Nearly half of Nepals lies more than 4 000 Meters above sea level. Today it s normal that the kids go to school in the valley, but just 50 years ago the village was completely self sufficient. Only if there was a lack of salt would someone twice a year hard off to refill the stock. Today the children go to the city almost on a daily basis and are immediately forced to cross the dangerous river. A village in distress is left behind. The village community Kumpur is spread across 18 farms on the Dhap Mountain. Their families live in a very remote area. These families have lived on their land now for thousands of years herding their life-sustaining cattle without electricity, running water or contact to the outside world. Although they constantly ask themselves if the promise of an education justifies the danger of the path involved, they send their children day after day to school.
