But Ken and Gratiana from http://cowokrakus.com/ invited my wife Ying and I to go with them and their family on an Indonesian food trip to Bogor and the surrounding region (about an hour from Jakarta). Our first stop when we drove out of Jakarta and to Bogor was a famous place to eat Bogor style laksa at a restaurant called Laksa Bogor Pak Inin. It was exactly my kind of a restaurant, open air and local, with a wonderful friendly environment. The laksa was unlike any other laksa I’ve ever had, and it was fantastic. Laksa Bogor - 10,000 IDR ($0.72) Next, we stopped at a place called Toge Goreng Pak Abung, which is another legendary Indonesian food stop in Bogor, Indonesia, and they are famous for serving a bean sprout snack. It was definitely a very interesting dish, including a mixture of bean sprouts and fermented soy beans. Toge Goreng - 7,000 IDR ($0.51) Next we drove into the beautiful Indonesian countryside and to the house. After having some Indonesian snacks and refreshing coconut, we then took a hike to go look for honey. The beekeeper was sick on the day we went, so we we’re able to get any honey, but it was still a beautiful hike. The highlight of this Indonesian food trip for me was the Sundanese style Nasi Liwet Botram family feast that we had. All the food was laid out on banana leaves, and we all sat and ate some of the most beautiful and flavorful Indonesian food. It was an incredible culinary experience. We drove back to Bogor and stopped at Warung Nasi Ampera to eat a quick dinner, and because I wanted to try some ikan pepes. The food was alright, but nothing compared to the lunch feast we had eaten! Total price - 103,000 IDR ($7.46) for 3 plates of food Finally, back in Jakarta, we stopped near Manga Besar to have some desserts and to finish of this incredible day of Indonesian food. Sekoteng - 12,000 IDR ($0.87), Wedang Ronde - 12,000 IDR ($0.87) It was an incredible Indonesian food trip to the outskirts of Bogor, and a nice opportunity to get out of Jakarta for the day. That said, while the different heads are covered the method in which they are trained is not. In this video, I show you a shoulder workout secret regarding the inclusion of explosive shoulder exercises into your deltoid workouts. In order for a shoulder exercise (or any exercise for that matter) to be explosive, it needs to allow you to fully express your power through the rep. Plyometric exercises are great examples of this. For instance, on an explosive plyo pushup, you are able to explode off the ground as you push through the normal end point of the exercise. When it comes to shoulders however, this can be tricky to do safely. Additionally, an explosive exercise will have an eccentric loading component that allows you to recoil and recharge your muscles for each subsequent contraction. When it comes to the shoulders, this again can be quite challenging to do without injury. Unless of course, you do the shoulder exercise shown in this shoulder workout video. Grab a heavier than normal medicine ball and perform the solo shoulder med ball toss. The goal here is to keep your arms as straight as possible as you accelerate through a typical front raise motion. As your hands pass through the point parallel to the ground, release your hands from the ball and try to throw it as high up as you can. On the way down, attempt to catch the ball again (with your hands on the side of the ball not underneath the ball). This will force your delts to eccentrically and spontaneously contract to control the descent of the med ball. At the same time that you are doing this you are also activating the stretch reflex of the delts to enable another powerful contraction. This exercise fits in well with any shoulder workout and gives you a chance to experience a pump more intense than any other you’ve had before. This is because you are getting more type iib fibers to become engaged in the movement in order to contribute to the quick contraction needed to complete this exercise. Do 3-4 sets of this front deltoid exercise in your shoulder workout to start increasing the size of your shoulders much faster. It may be the first time that you’ve ever trained your shoulders explosively and they will respond quickly because of this. XO Remember... When you start your meditation practice its easy to not know what to expect or even to expect something from it like you might get from anything else you "do" in life. But meditation is not a "doing", it is a "being". It is a learning to find stillness and peace within the idea that the moment you are in, the moment you are experiencing right at that moment is enough. The trick is that our minds are not used to this way of thinking. Our modern day lives & culture tend to clutter our conscious thoughts with projections and stress towards the future and the past. Meditation helps us learn to let go. Meditation to me, and what I would like to share with you, is about bathing in the now. And finding peace with exactly who you are, where you are, and that all other chatter in your head can and eventually will be cleansed by the regular practice and training of momentary awareness. When you start your mind is not used to this. It will fight back and flare up with thoughts and wander and tell you its bored and you should stop. These are all normal experiences. Always. The trick is to breath it in when it happens, see it happening, and exhale it out only to reset your focus again. Its not a failure. Its just what happened. And in time will happen less and less as your focus and mind becomes more and more accustomed to quiet, peace, and stillness. More than anything in life, there is no result when you meditate. It is just acceptance. And you. There are so many great benefits to meditation once you truly learn to love the process and practice it daily. Through mediation you will slowly begin to achieve more patience in your every day life, how to appreciate the simple things, and how to find the space in your mind to spread more love and kindness into the world around you. Find a comfortable seated position, put some headphones on, relax, and allow yourself to let go and surrender into the now. Namaste.
