Hierve el Agua, AKA the Petrified Waterfall of Oaxaca, Mexico, is a very strange place to visit. Located about a 90 minute drive from Oaxaca City, this natural wonder is one of the top things to see in Mexico. This adventure kicked off a giant roadtrip with some YouTuber friends of mine. Backpacker Steve, Brendan van Son, Jodie Dewberry, and I jumped in a rental car and drove through Oaxaca to Chiapas in search of waterfalls in Mexico. This particular Mexican Waterfall was very special This wonder of nature was high on our list. We arrived early on a Monday morning in the offseason (December), and barely saw anybody until midday. Although appearing similar to a hot spring, the water is actually cold. The bubbling of the water comes from trapped gasses under the ground that bubble up with the mineral rich groundwater. This process is why the location is named The Water Boils in Spanish, even though it not actually boiling. From a distance, these giant rock formations look like cascading waterfalls frozen in time. In photos, it s actually not apparent that it isn t water. There are several of these giant petrified waterfalls at the location, and walking trails connecting them all together. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ϟ LINKS TO GEAR HERE ϟ Cameras Sony a7s Cameras: http://geni.us/MyCamera Sony RX100 V: http://geni.us/SonyRX1005 GoPro Hero 5: http://geni.us/GPHero5 My Flying Camera: http://geni.us/MavicFlyMore Lenses Sony 16-35mm f/4 : http://geni.us/Sony1635mm Sony 90mm f/2.8 http://geni.us/Sony90mm Sony 55mm f/1.8: http://geni.us/Sony55mm Rokinon 24mm f/1.4: http://geni.us/Rokinon24mm Canon 70-300mm: http://geni.us/CanonZoomLens Phone Fisheye + Macro Lenses: https://pixter.fr/#IN42 Camera Accessories CPOL for Sony 16-35mm: http://geni.us/TiffenCPOL1 Variable ND for Sony 16-35mm: http://geni.us/TiffenVarND RODE Videomic Pro: http://geni.us/RODEMic RODE Dead Cat: http://geni.us/DeadCatVMP My SD Cards: http://geni.us/SanDiskPRO Zhinyu Crane Gimbal: http://geni.us/NewGimbal PEAK Camera Clips: http://geni.us/PDClip PEAK Lens Switching: http://geni.us/PDLensKit PEAK Camera Strap: http://geni.us/PDStrap PEAK Keeping Safe on Rainy Days: http://geni.us/PDRainShell 3 Legged Thing Tripod: http://geni.us/Tripod Get a discount from PEAK DESIGN with my link: https://www.peakdesign.com?acc=721 Other Accessories Travel Tea Mug: http://geni.us/TravelTea Powerbank: http://geni.us/AnkerPowerbank ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ♥ Friends ♥ Steve: https://www.youtube.com/user/BackPackerOrg Brendan: https://www.youtube.com/brendanvanson Jodie: https://www.youtube.com/user/alajode ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ♫ Music ♫ "Save Me" - Diplodocus "Focus" - OGROD "Lazy" - OGROD "Water" - OGROD https://soundcloud.com/ogrodmusic "Funky Gringo" - Funkyfella https://soundcloud.com/funky_fella ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ☎ Say Hi Here ☎ ✧ Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/kickthegrind ✧ Tweetz: http://www.twitter.com/KickTheGrind ✧ Facebook Fanpage: http://www.facebook.com/KicktheGrindTV ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ✯ Experiences over Possessions ✯ Kick the Grind ✯ -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

►SUBSCRIBE for 2 new videos per week: http://bit.ly/MarkWiensSubscribe ►T-shirts available now: https://migrationology.com/store/ One of the places I was most excited to visit in Mexico for food (Comida Oaxaqueña) is Oaxaca. Oaxaca has one of the most developed and advanced food cultures in all of Mexico. For our first day, we set out on a Mexican street food tour of Oaxaca, eating everything we could see. Mercado de Abastos - We began the morning at one of the biggest local fresh food markets in Oaxaca. I samples a Tamal de Mole - 11 MXN ($0.59) and a hot Chocolate - 10 MXN ($0.53), both of which were delicious, and a great way to start this tour. Soup - 30 MXN ($1.60) per bowl - The market was just opening, but there was a busy soup stall, so we stopped to have a bowl. The fish and shrimp soup were both delicious. Memelas - 30 MXN ($1.60) total - One of the ultimate Mexican street foods to try in Oaxaca is memalas, a round of masa, cooked and topped with salsa and cheese, and your choice of other toppings. We got it with grilled meat on top. It was delicious, one of the best things I ate throughout the day. Carnitas - 30 MXN ($1.60) total - This was just a quick impulse taco on the go because it looked so good… it was. Zócalo Oaxaca, Plaza de Santo Domingo - The center of Oaxaca is a pleasant place to hang out, only today there happen to be a protest going on, so it was a bit busy. Mercado 20 de Noviembre - Meat combo - 300 MXN ($16.02) - This is one of the great meat halls of the world. You walk in to the meat sauna, choose your meat, they grill it all in front of you, and you eat it with tortillas and salsa. An amazing food paradise. Tlayudas El Negro - Tlayudas are another common Oaxacan street food, using giant tortillas filled with beans, cabbage, and cheese, and then grilled. Price - 80 MXN ($4.27) for 1 Monte Albán - Resting our stomachs, we did a little sightseeing in Oaxaca. One of the famous attractions are the ruins of Monte Alban. Elote - 20 MXN ($1.07) - You’ll find elotes, a corn on the cobb with cheese and salsas, all over Mexico. It’s one of the most common Mexican street foods… but this guy is at the main plaza of Oaxaca is on another level. His style is champion! Mole negro - 60 MXN ($3.20) per plate - Finally to end this Mexican street food tour of Oaxaca, we needed to have a plate of mole negro, one of the national dishes of Oaxaca. It was an amazing day of food. Oaxaca has such a rich culture of food and friendly people. This meal prep is healthy and well suited for people who are on an intermittent fasting diet as it has 2 big main meals. Feel free to adjust the meal prep as needed if your on a 3 meal a day diet. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ RECIPE #1 - KETO COOKIES ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ Makes about 16 cookies depending on how big your cookies are :) 165g of peanut butter 3 tbs of cacao powder 100g of coarsely chopped almond nuts 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract A few droplets of stevia (Adjust to your personal taste). You can use erythritol or other sweetener as well! 3 tbs of chocolate chips Chuck the peanut butter, cacao powder, vanilla extract and stevia in the food processor. Process until smooth then add almond nuts and process it once or twice. Make sure you don t overprocess it. Or you can choose to add coarsely chopped almond nuts instead so that the pieces remain big. Add chocolate chips. Roll the mixture into a ball then press it down so it looks like a cookie! Put it in the freezer for 30 minutes and it s ready. You can leave it in the freezer. I actually like it best straight out from the freezer! ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ RECIPE #2 - BEEF COCONUT WRAP ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ This will make about 4-5 depending how big your serving size is. Recommend to add half an avocado when you re going to have them. Avocado mayo is also so good with it! This is also keto friendly if you use 1-2 coconut wrap per serving. 1kg of Minced Beef 1 Red Bell Pepper 1 Green Bell Pepper 1/2 an Onion 1 Carrot 3 TBS of Apple Cider Vinegar (Adjust to your liking) 1 TSP of Ginger Powder 1 TBS of Cumin (Adjust to your liking) 1 Pack of Black Beans (or 1 can) 4-5 TBS of Tomato Paste Salt to season Black Pepper optional Avocadoes Cooked minced beef with coconut oil and salt. Once it s brown add cumin, ginger powder and tomato paste. Stir it well then add apple cider vinegar. You can then add all the vegetables and black beans and cook them with the beef together or separately. Cook until vegetables is tender. Serve it with sliced avocado in a coconut wrap, or serve it with half a smashed avocado. One container will make about 3 wraps. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ RECIPE #3 - KELP NOODLE SALAD ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ This recipe will only take you less than 5 minutes to make. A few bags of chopped carrots and mixed cabbages. Green Onions 1 bag of kelp noodles Avocadoes A few cans of Wild Caught Salmon Sauce: Ginger (adjust to your liking. I like it quite gingery) 2-4 Limes (depending on the size of your limes, you can replace it with apple cider vinegar if you don t have limes or lemons) 5-6 TBS of peanut butter (adjust to your liking) Some water to dilute it if needed Salt to season Place them all into a food processor and process it until smooth. Rinse the chopped vegetables if needed then place them into 4-5 containers. Rinse kelp noodles under cold water and drain it. Add the kelp noodles and chopped green onions to the container. Serve it with half an avocado (chopped up avocado), a can of salmon (or half a can), and the gingery sauce! You can try it with the avo mayo sauce or other sauces you fancy. That s it! So simple! ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ RELATED MEAL PREP VIDEOS ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ Healthy Food Prep for Losing Weight - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-IeYQpJO2fE Budget Meal Prep - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tohmC-LOMLI ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ MY SOCIAL LINKS ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ Main Instagram: http://instagram.com/chloe_t Fitness Instagram: http://instagram.com/itschloeting This video is sponsored by Thrive Market.
