Wanna join us? http://www.LaceUpTour.com In 1998 skateboarding released its first Pro Signature Model Shoe the Natas Kaupas, then in 1999 a 2nd shoe dropped for Steve Caballero, in the 90 s it seemed like anyone with a video part had a shoe, and not just one model either. Imagine a world where the top names in Parkour and Freerunning could create there own shoe, a shoe of their dreams, one that they could design specific elements into to increase performance, solve common issues from past shoes and build out to fit a stylistic aesthetic that was not previously attainable without sacrificing performance. When I was approached by Tempest Freerunning CEO @Gabriel Nunez about the chance to create the first true Pro Signature model #parkour shoe and build a freerunning sneaker from the literal ground up, I was ecstatic but immediately understood the responsibility that came with the opportunity. Almost two years ago at the beginning of this process I knew I wanted to create something that performed like no other shoe has for our sport but looked dope as hell to. We achieved the ascetic I wanted through working with our in house designer @Yannick Williamson a long time friend and rapper who goes by the stage name of Varnell Hill. But besides the look of the shoe the most important thing to me when we released the La FLair Shoe was going to be able to answer one question with confidence. "Whats the difference between a #parkourshoe vs any other sneaker?" As a newer company in the shoe space we wanted to make sure we could pull off something as specific and technologically challenging as this so we knew we would have to work with someone with the expertise and knowledge of constructing a shoe that could withstand the quickly evolving landscape of movement possibilities in one of the most dynamic sports in the world, #freerunning. As fate would have it Jesse La Flair connected with the one and only Robert Purvey a legend in the shoe game with over 20 years of experience and a resume that would blow your mind. After designing signature shoes with sports icons like Kobe, Shaq, and Iverson to name a few, Purvey a fan of Jesse s was ready to jump on board with #TMPST and change the game. His history and connections made through working for a variety of shoe brands like Nike, Adidas and Vans to name a few have opened the possibility to make something extremely special for the sport. There is something a little bit similar, and my first day in the Philippines lead me to this strange place. In this travel Philippines vlog, we head 12h north of Manila to Sagada. Home of the hanging coffins, Marlboro Country and Blue Soil Hills. If you re a fan of beautiful nature, adventure, or seeing strange places, the blue soil hills and Marlboro County sunrise hike are epic. Most people head to Kiltepan for sunrise. Don t do that. Instead book this hike. I was one of only a few people there. Sunrise at Kiltepan is PACKED. After seeing this amazing show, you hike another 2 hours to Blue Soil Hills. Erosion has revealed a section of crumbling blue stone in the forest. Copper is responsible for this phenomenon. The copper in the soil reacts with the air and develops a patina. The fancy word for the green/blue coating you see on copper pennies or church roofs. This gives the soil a very unique appearance! You need to visit this place! For example, if you wanted to know if a 1200 on the SAT is better than the 25 on the ACT. For this, we need to standardize our data using z-scores - which allow us to make comparisons between two sets of data as long as they’re normally distributed.
