The VW ID.5, expressive E-SUV coupé is equipped with the new ID. software version 3.0, which includes improved charging performance and voice control among other features. With the use of swarm data and latest-generation driver assistance systems, Volkswagen is also taking the next step towards automated driving. Innovative assistance systems such as Travel Assist with swarm data allow for an even more relaxed and predictive driving experience. The new optional Park Assist Plus with memory function will take care of personalised parking processes on request. At 4599 mm long (ID.5 GTX: 4582 mm), the e-SUV coupé from Volkswagen will launch in 2022 with three engine options. The ID.5 will be powered by an electric engine in the rear. The dual-motor all-wheel drive of the ID.5 GTX will be powered by an e-motor on the front and rear axles. All ID.5 engine types are powered by a large, long-range battery. A low drag coefficient of 0.26 (or 0.27 in the ID.5 GTX) increases efficiency and boosts the vehicle’s extensive range. This capability is further supported by the integrated spoiler in the wide-opening, aerodynamically shaped tailgate. Electric cooling air vents in the front of the vehicle open only when necessary, so as to ensure optimal air flow. Using the standard Mode 3 cable, the e-SUV coupé can also be charged with up to 11 kW of alternating current (AC), even when it is out and about. Charging performance can reach up to 135 kW as standard at a fast-charge station. Should I upgrade my Lamborghini Huracan STO with a supercharger from @VFEngineering?! Let s test drive the VF8XX equipped STO to see what it s like when you add 200hp to the track focused bull, with a run to the canyons and some thoughts about whether I should do it! Since taking delivery of my first Lamborghini, the Huracan STO, I ve often spoken about how the power feels lacking compared to other equivalent supercars. Lamborghini of course stuck with the 5.2l naturally aspirated V10 that has now effectively reached its power limit after we ve seen the same 640hp from all of the Performante, EVO, STO and new Tecnica. In the case of the STO, the bodywork is a radical design inspired by the Super Trofeo EVO racecar, but the power does not deliver in the way you experience from a 765LT, GT2 RS or SF90. In steps VF Engineering! The bolt-on VF8XX Hypercharger kit takes a few days of install and brings that power up by 200hp and 200ft-lb; in fact up to 840hp on pump gas and even further on race fuel to 850-860hp. The result is both an engine bay upgrade that looks the part, but also performance that s suddenly more in line what what you think the car should be able to do. Torque also jumps from the standard 585Nm / 442ftlb, to 850Nm / 625ftlb, while also the software changes give it a 20% faster upshift time and 15% faster downshift. Having a quick look around the car at VF Engineering, let s check out the engine bay and run over the details before being out on the road for a first drive experience. There s no question, this is an awesome add on for the Huracan STO, and after years of products for the regular Huracan models, it s certainly getting me thinking...!
