Meerkats on Parade : The meerkat or suricate is a small carnivoran belonging to the mongoose family. It is the only member of the genus Suricata. Meerkats live in all parts of the Kalahari Desert in Botswana, in much of the Namib Desert in Namibia and southwestern Angola, and in South Africa. A group of meerkats is called a "mob", "gang" or "clan". A meerkat clan often contains about 20 meerkats, but some super-families have 50 or more members. Pied Tamarin : The pied tamarin is an endangered primate species found in a restricted area in the Brazilian Amazon Rainforest. This New World monkey is found within and just north of the city limits of Manaus, the capital of the Amazonas state of Brazil. The main distribution is in the rio Cuieiras and rio Preto da Eva interfluvium. Pied tamarins are also found in the adjacent rio Preto da Eva and rio Urubu interfluvium, but are comparatively rare. There appears to be interspecific competition between the pied tamarin and the red-handed tamarin with the red-handed tamarin gradually displacing the pied tamarin from areas of its historical distribution. There are therefore multiple threats to the long-term survival of the pied tamarin that stem from habitat destruction and from interspecific competition. If you ve never owned aquatic life before I highly suggest doing deeper and extensive research on the water cycle and how to maintain a healthy tank before getting an axolotl! Do not use any fish supplements or medicines in an axolotl tank- it is dangerous to amphibians. Water conditioner being an exception. Recommended products: -20 gallon long aquarium -CaribSea Super Naturals Premium Aquarium Substrate -Fluval 20 or higher - Aqueon water conditioner (kind I use, most other kinds will work too) -Aquarium Cooling Fan -Thermometer (to make sure temp is below 70 and ideally below 66) -Hiding Spots (Pvc pipes work fine) -Live Night Crawlers for food -Live ghost shrimp as treats -Syphon to clean substrate weekly

Of course I m not working constantly for the 12 hours, but for all the tanks it takes the full day to get out with the old water and in with the new water. I do this normally twice a week, but sometimes more when my tanks decide to act up. Their tanks aren t as risky to rapidly spike as my saltwater tanks are. If you ve seen my old videos, you ll notice I have a few different animals now than I used to. I assure you all animals you don t see in this video have found good homes! Once my interest in saltwater took over, I relocated my larger freshwater tank to a trusted friend :) & my hermits that I had for nearly 9 years are now happily living with a family friend, still alive. Basic information about the Hippo Blue Tang aka "Dory" from Finding Nemo and Disney s new film Finding Dory. These fish are not for beginner aquarists and are not safe to buy for your children just because you like the movie. **PLEASE understand I m talking in layman s terms in this video. I m not using a lot of the scientific words and such because I m anticipating people who don t know the hobby enough to recognize what they mean. Some things I have put into simpler terms to make it easier to understand. Only purchase if you re an experienced saltwater aquarist Please understand there are reports that the Hippo Blue Tang is becoming threatened in the wild due to the coral reef diminishing and all the pollution, global warming, over fishing, etc occurring to our oceans! Instead of spending all your money to potentially kill a blue tang, consider donating some money to wildlife funds and ocean conservation funds to conserve the species in the wild! Also look into other ways to help the ocean as a whole. That s the best way to respect the precious species :)) In my next videos I ll be showing how to care for different types of clownfish and what you ll need for a setup.
