Kakariki Goes to the Bird Clinic | Sizzles breathing was heavier than normal and he had fluid coming from his nostrils. The vet did a culture on the fluid coming from his nostrils and did an exam. The results came back and showed Sizzle was dealing with two stubborn bacterias, Klebsiella-oxy and Lelliottia-Amnigena. Baytril was prescribed for 14 days. After 10 days there was no improvement. His breathing worsened. I took Sizzle to another Clinic for a second opinion. The vet took two x-rays. The x-rays showed Sizzle has heart disease!! The side view showed that Sizzle had prominent thickening of the heart valves. Usually the valves are not even seen in an x-ray. The side view shows density on either his air sacks or intestines. Could be a plaque build up. The vet suggested to have an ultrasound done on his heart but it may be too stressful for him. We discussed trying heart medication. Rosey Bourke Parakeet | Ruby had a severe ear infection in both ears. His left ear was 95% healed and his right ear was 70% healed. Ruby had some tissue growing out out his right ear or possibly a tumor. The vet took a culture and it showed he had a bacteria called Corynebactereium. He was prescribed Tobradex to be applied in both ears and Doxycycline orally. The Doxycycline had to be ordered and I had the Tobradex drops on hand already. I started using the drops on Friday April 21 and saw a huge improvementwithin the next few days. The Doxycycline was expected in on Tuesday April 25. Ruby went to the vets for a recheck and to pick up his medication on April 25 .The vet said that since his ears are much better to not use the Doxycycline. He was getting better until Sunday April 30. He was wobbly and held his head to the right. I put him in his hospital cage with a heating pad and a blanket around three sides of the cage. He seemed to get a little better until Monday May 1. His eyes were moving rapidly back and fourth and he started to spin in circles. He could not eat or stand up. I rushed him to the vets. He was giving a sedation injection. Once he settled down the vet gave him an antibiotic injection. I took him home and he passed away 20 minutes later. I took him back to the vets for cremation. Early Morning Cruise In To Bergen Norway on The Fred Olsen MS Braemar Cruise Ship and Ride on The Mount Floyen Funicular Railway Fløyen is one of the city mountains in Bergen, Hordaland, Norway, and one of the city’s most popular tourist attractions. Fløyfjellet is the name of the mountain top. It is 399 m above sea level. Looking over the Bergen city centre. The name could originate from fløystangen "weather cock", that was set up to provide signals about the direction of the wind when ships were to set sail. The view of the Bergen peninsula makes fløyfjellet a popular attraction among tourists and city locals. It has a funicular system that transports passengers from the center of Bergen to a height of 320 meters in roughly 8 minutes and the highest point (425 meters) on Fløyfjellet is approximately 1 km to the northeast. The funicular is used by tourists and citizens all year-around.
