When you get your period, it is necessary to keep a note of your menses and particularly the color of your period blood. The blood color is not usually the same and if you experience a change in it, you should be aware that your body is trying to warn you about a dangerous condition. For instance, an Orange color with a foul slimy smell signifies you are suffering from STD. 7 period blood colors and what they can tell you about your health and fertility • Pinkish color Pink period blood indicates low estrogen levels, especially if it comes with a flow that is lighter than normal. Pink color can also indicate that you work out a lot. Studies have shown that engaging in excessive exercise has the ability to lower the estrogen levels in your body, which can eventually muddle with your period, and sometimes make it disappear altogether. It’s a common tendency for female athletes to stop ovulating at a stage. While this may not be a big deal, low estrogen levels can lead to an increased risk of osteoporosis which causes bones to become weak. So, if your blood color is consistently pink, you should visit a doctor. • Dark Brown You might experience a dark brown color at the beginning or the end of your period. This is actually normal and it is a sign that you have an older discharged blood still sitting in your uterus. It is the method your body adapts to clean out your uterus. You can sometimes experience dark brown blood color in between periods. Usually, you’ll notice this darker color when you change your birth control method. Why? Well, when your hormones change, the color of your period blood changes too. • Gray-reddish mix a gray-reddish color can be an indication that you have a sexually transmitted infection, or if you’re pregnant, it could be a miscarriage. If it turns out to be an infection, it is a sign that you are suffering from bacterial vaginosis which is overgrowth of bacteria inside the body. However, this is a common condition and can be treated with prescription medications. • Bright red color Bright red color is a sign of newer blood. It means there is no time for the blood to darken before it exits your body. It may maintain this color throughout your entire period or may darken each day. Other serious conditions associated with bright red color includes pregnancy spotting, some infections such as gonorrhea, or non-cancerous growths such as polyps or fibroids. Contact your doctor if you are experiencing any of these. • Orange color Orange color is an indication that your period blood is mixed with cervical fluids. On the other hand, a bright orange color can also be a sign of an infection related to internal or sexually transmitted bacteria. In any case, it is best to see a doctor. • Watery-looking Watery-looking period blood is an indication that you are experiencing natural deficiencies. Studies have shown that if it has a whitish look and consistently diluted, it could be an indication of severe anemia. You should take this into consideration when you are experiencing a lighter period instead of a heavier one. • Cranberry red color If your period blood comes in a cranberry red color, it is indicative of a good state of health. Leaving them alone in the car Never ever leave your dog alone in the car with the windows closed. Researches have shown that the temperature within a closed car can rise often as high as 20 degree in every 10 minutes! Unlike us, dogs do not sweat and become very uncomfortable in such an environment. Neglecting their teeth The teeth are an important part of your dog’s body. Their teeth are often home to hundreds of bacteria and need to be brushed just like yours do. Seriously, taking care of your dog’s teeth should go beyond the chewing sticks most dog owners are accustomed to giving to their pets. Taking the little puppy to a dog park It’s a good thing to take your pet to the park once in a while. This allows it to mingle with its own species and not feel like it is the only one left in the world. In as such as this is a good for your dog, you shouldn’t forget that dogs can be passive carriers of diseases. This can easily be transferred to your pet. Also, if you re visiting a park with your little puppy, you may want to keep an eye on it as larger dogs often are rough while playing and may end up harming your little pet. Using physical punishments It’s good you discipline your pet but physical punishment should never be the way you do. For one, physically punishing your pet constitutes animal abuse. Secondly, physical punishment doesn’t really work when it comes to disciplining a pet. It only makes your pet afraid of you. Yelling Yelling is never a great way to discipline your dog. If you yell at your dog when it does something bad, it may act all timid but will be unrepentant. This is because yelling actually scares it and does not tell your dog what it did wrong. Your dog may assume you are just angry hence the timid behavior to protect itself. Neglecting breed-specific health issues Certain dogs breeds require specific care for their skin, ear or fur. Some other breeds are prone to certain health issues and you should make sure to have an eye out for them. For example, Dobermans, in addition to heart muscle failure, are prone to ventricular arrhythmias. Make sure to talk with your vet to discuss the breed-specific health issues Not socializing your dog with other dogs and people Thorough socialization is very important for dog’s health and behavior. Lack of socializations results in release of adrenaline hormones that increase dog’s blood pressure and heart rate in any unfamiliar situation. Dogs who don’t socialize can have anxiety about anything that’s unfamiliar. Too much food If you often keep your dog’s bowl filled, you may be putting your dog in the risk of obesity. Óbvio que também queríamos ver os mamíferos icônicos que existem no parque. Para ter uma maior flexibilidade nos nossos “safáris" alugamos um carro em Johannesburgo, assim procuramos os animais por conta própria. Desde que respeite as regras do parque, é possível circular com veículo próprio, não precisa ser 4 x 4, qualquer carro é capaz de entrar no parque. Registramos pouco mais de 180 espécies de aves, sendo 27 só de rapinantes (listas Ebird abaixo). Também registramos várias espécies de mamíferos, incluindo os Big Five, e muitas outras raridades, como cerval, cão-selvagem e leopardo. Essa viagem para a África do Sul foi a realização de um sonho. A sensação de contemplar a vida selvagem na África, ver os animais livres, de perto, é uma experiência indescritível! Beagle puppy gets a new Red Dingo bed. Smudge the Beagle tests out her new bed. She digs it, checking underneath the cushion, lies on it, and finally this little beagle puppy sleeps on it. Turn up the volume at the end for some cute and funny beagle snores! She also had lots of fun opening it and taking off the packaging but sadly we accidentally paused the video recording at that bit. Oops! However Smudge did enjoy beaglizing and playing on the bed making some funny beagle noises, before dropping off to sleep, and this was caught on film.
