There is a right way to do it too. Keeping snakes in bins on paper towel with nothing but a water bowl, no snake hide, no décor or anything else is wrong in my opinion. Instead you can outfit your snake enclosure tub in a similar fashion to how Emily at Snake Discovery sets up her snake bins. Natural, often bio active substrate, hides, water bowl, decoration, enrichment, the works. I think this is a much better way to set up snake and reptile enclosures. I keep ball pythons in tubs and often baby leopard geckos, hognose snakes and other colubrids. Big PVC reptile enclosures are my preference and I think they are often better but not always. For example, if your snake does not eat for a while you can try keeping that individual snake in a rack instead. This has worked for me with my Albino Ball Python Pikachu. Also baby snakes like western hognose snakes do much better in smaller tubs until they become adult Plains Hognose Snakes. Heck even African Fat Tailed Geckos and Chinese Cave Geckos or even Japanese Cave Geckos can do really well in racks and tubs.

Some things never change. LittleFoot the Leopard gecko got her name from The Land Before Time of course and she is doing so well. Big fat tail, beautiful purple color and eating crickets and mealworms like a champ! Cubone my smallest Dumeril s boa isn t so small any more. Dumerils boas get kinda big and it seems like Cubone is right on track to be as big as Marowak some day. Pikachu the ball python is doing so well and about to become a father! Jimmy the spotted python is getting so long. Children s pythons and the whole Antaresia family are small but Spotted pythons get a big bigger and Jimmy is growing very well! The banana bunch! These three banana ball pythons are absolutely stunning. Amazing pattern, freckles coming in, just stunning. We need way bigger enclosure than are usually accepted and we need to do better. For example the recommended Ball Python enclosure size is usually 40 gallons or 75 gallons. This is insane, both of those enclosure sizes are way too small! We need to think about keeping Ball Pythons in 120 Gallon enclosures and giving them more than a paper substrate and a water bowl. Monitor lizard keepers often can be the worst offenders of animal neglect. Keeping a large lizard in an enclosure barely it s own body length is unacceptable! Some Monitor Enclosures I see on forums though are absolutely amazing and we should all strive to give our animals as much room as possible. Aquatic turtle tank are often too small too. If you see a Red Eared Slider started kit tank it is often 40 gallons which again is far too small! I could not be happier with my Mississippi map turtle tank and Yellow Bellied Slider tank. A 150 Gallon Turtle Tank isn t super difficult to take care of and makes a great show piece in your home. Green Iguanas also are kept in ridiculously small enclosures sometimes. I think we can do much better and I love to see these amazing, large, often custom made reptile enclosures for their Iguanas. Of course the king of way too small enclosures, Bearded Dragons. Let s stop keeping Bearded Dragons in 40 gallon tanks or 75 gallon enclosures. such a highly requested video. THE MOST FRAGILE, SENSITIVE, AND DELICATE PETS I’VE EVER KEPT... Meet my seahorses! Also some info on how to take care of them :) For new subscribers and those who didn t follow the seahorse story before this: last time didn’t end too well. my last pair was great for about 7 months, then died within weeks of each other. Long story short, turns out my “captive bred” pair was actually wild caught, and had been harboring a parasite that had been laying dormant in them just waiting for the time to strike. My male got pregnant, and that’s when all hell broke loose. The female died after transferring her eggs randomly (went from healthy, active, and eating to dead within 24 hrs) and the male died mid term after aborting his babies. I tried to treat the parasite which did prolong his life a little bit, but sadly they still lost the fight. After that awful situation I’m very nervous to have my other two back in my own tank. I gave them to an aquarium shop I trust to babysit them while I got things in order, and finally picked them back up 4 months later and brought them home to this new tank! The good news is, I had them for 3 months, then they were at the aquarium shop for 4 months, and they re still in great shape! which is a good sign these sisters are doing great. if you thought you d never see a fish in a wheelchair, well here you are. (at 12:24 I put aquainted instead of acquainted.. bc like...aqua...aquarium........ jk that wasn t why, i just didn t notice that the c wasn t there) My friend made a wheelchair for a goldfish that was surrendered to Aquarium Designs - a san antonio aquarium shop. The goldfish had an incurable swim bladder disorder and the only way to keep him from laying upside town at the bottom of the tank 24/7 was to construct a wheelchair for him! After a long night of Chamaeleon catching in South Florida, we ended up finding some amazing veiled chameleons.
