Beagle Smudge goes adventuring on a nature trail with magnificent and beautiful sea views. One of Smudge s friends requested a long-ish video of Smudge on her long leash on a nature walk or hike. Here it is! About this track: This track forms part of Wellington s Eastern Walkway. This section is a popular dog walking area and includes the Atuturk Memorial. The Atuturk Memorial is named after Kemal Atatürk, the first president of modern Turkey and has soil from ANZAC Cove in Turkey. This is an important place in NZ and Australia s (the ANZACs) WW1 stories. This walkway also has the most amazingly gorgeous views of the sea across Wellington Harbour and the Cook Strait. On a good day you are able to also see the South Island, which is particularly stunning if the Kaikōura Mountain Ranges are topped with snow. Smudge started barking and raising the alarm, somehow she knew that Dad was nearly home from his surf. She was so looking forward to saying hi. Dad took ages to come in but finally he came into the house to see her and she greeted him so happily, delighted to see him. A little side note: This happened a few months back but we have only just gotten around to publishing it. You may notice that she has a shaved section on her forearm. Smudge is prone to ear infections, and being a smart beagle, she recognizes the otoscope and her Vet cannot not normally even get close to looking in her ears to make an assessment without some sedation, but please don t be concerned, Smudge did have an infection but is all okay now. Today is the day - Smudge turns 4! It seems like just yesterday she was a little beagle puppy, but now she is a celebrating her beagle dog birthday, number 4. She celebrated with a Beagle Birthday Buffet. A selection of some of her favourite foods - chicken, lamb, beef, fish and sweet potato, and of course a little birthday present. On playback we noticed that Smudge s Mum s head is out of the picture throughout. It s Beagle Beach time! Smudge is a beagle dog who just loves going to the beach. On this dog walk on the beach she had a lovely time being an off leash dog, running and zooming around, nose to the sand often.
