"Dievaines" is a birthday song for the Latvian capital Riga, composed by Uģis Prauliņš in occasion of the cities 810th birthday. The song was first performed in a stadium park in Riga by a choir of more than 7.000 singers. According to old Baltic traditions the "Dievaines" (goddesses) carry life energy in the form of light.
