The King of Waltz was enthusiastically celebrated by the approximately 12,000 people in the sold-out Altice Arena for his 3-hour concert with wonderful waltzes and numerous pieces of music from opera, film, and musicals. André Rieu: "Today s concert in Lisbon is, without doubt, one of the most beautiful and emotional of my entire career. It is simply indescribable to finally be back on stage again and make music with my wonderful orchestra. After the concert, we fell into each other s arms with tears in our eyes. My heartfelt thanks go to the Portuguese audience. We were received with incredible enthusiasm and love and are now looking forward to three more evenings that we will never forget." Further concerts are planned for 2, 3, and 4 December. In total, André Rieu will perform for around 48,000 spectators in Lisbon. The vaccination rate in Portugal is among the highest in the world. All concerts will take place under-vaccinated/recovered/tested rules with the audience having to wear masks. But that did not dampen the mood.
