On Part 3 of the Pull-A-Part Cheap Jeep Challenge Busted Knuckle vs BleepinJeep presented by Tekton tools we are using the rest of our 5000 budget for our XJ Rock Crawler Build. We spent $2000 purchasing the Jeep and only have $3k left for this cheap jeep build off. We start off with a trip to an expert when it comes to doing an XJ rock crawler build at Rusty s Off Road. There we raid the scratch and dent pile for a long arm kit and some heavy duty steering before heading back to the Knucklehead Garage shop to get to cutting. We get the rock crawling XJ locked with a welder in the rear and Yukon Spartan locker up front. We upgrade the steering and brakes up front with a WJ knuckle swap XJ kit. We cut the fenders to fit the massive 35" BFG KM3 tires on Raceline Allied Steel beadlock wheels which were sponsored to both builders to keep things fair and relative. Slap them on and load it up. Well that sounds super easy and should be done in a weekend right? Wrong! This Rusty Crusty Cherokee fought us every step of the way.
