​@RamTrucks gave me a new and unreleased version of their 2022 TRX: the Sandblast Edition! It’s like a supercar built for dirt, so let’s just call it a supertruck. Ridiculously comfortable luxury interior stacked with a 702 horsepower 6.2L supercharged Hemi engine, what more could you ask for? Maybe some suspension travel and frosty air conditioning? It has both of those things and plenty more. Naturally I wanted to test the limits of this new unreleased TRX so I decided to take it to Johnson Valley where they hold the annual King of the Hammers race to put it through the paces. Mat’s got his hands on this all-new sports car to see if it can compete with class-leading competitors like the Porsche Cayman GTS. So naturally, with it being a sports car, we need to check out the performance. The Emira will come with two engine choices, and the one we have here is a 3.5-litre supercharged V6 that’s produced by Toyota and is good for 400hp and 420Nm of torque. It powers the rear wheels along with a 6-speed manual gearbox and is good for a top speed of 180mph. Later on this year, you’ll also be able to get your hands on an Emira powered by the same engine you’ll find in the AMG A45 S - a 2-litre turbocharged 4 cylinder! However, Mercedes has turned down the power output on it, so as a result it only produces 360hp & 430Nm. However, although it’s still RWD, it’ll also roll up with an automatic gearbox! Elsewhere, there’s no denying that the Emira is a really classy car. From the outside, it looks super-sleek and is covered with vents (and they all serve a purpose!), and it even comes with real exhaust tips at the back! And once you step inside, the interior quality can easily match what you’ll find in a Porsche, with leather & high-quality materials throughout, along with a good-sized infotainment screen. The starting price is just £60,000, so surely this is the must-have sports car of 2022, right?! You’ll have to stick with Mat to see for yourself! The 2023 Genesis GV60 Performance AWD ($79,000 as specced in Canada, $67,890 as specced in the US) is the first fully electric vehicle from the brand. Genesis aims to soon be fully electrified, and the GV60 marks their first foray into this realm. Since this is the Performance trim, Boost mode grants it access to up to 483 horsepower and 516 lb ft of torque. It has a claimed range of 378 km and Genesis says that it can charge from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes with a 350 kW fast charger.
