This video covers the complete tear down of a Jackson Racing supercharger for a B series Honda. This information will also apply to other roots style superchargers. I believe the unit in this video is an Eaton M62. Since these superchargers haven’t been manufactured in at least 15 years, this one will need to be reconditioned. I was able to find a company that sells rebuild kits and also offers rebuild services linked below. #ETCGVideo #ETCGBlackBeard #supercharger #IntegraTypeR Thank you for watching! If you’re looking to improve the handling of your Chevy truck, or any vehicle for that matter, I highly recommend the addition of a good rear stabilizer bar. Nothing has improved the handling of this truck more than the addition of this rear stabilizer bar. I actually got this Hellwig rear stabilizer bar for #ETCGDadsTruck about a year ago. I wanted to wait until I sorted out the rear end noise before I installed it because I didn’t want to have to work around it while I was taking the differential apart. Now that the stabilizer bar is installed it feels like a completely new truck. In this video I replace the engine and automatic transmission in my sons 1999 Honda Civic. Personally, I don’t see this as a difficult job, especially if you’re fortunate enough to have a lift. Even if you don’t have a lift, take your time, keep your fasteners organized, and you should be fine. You might also consider taking pictures along the way as reference so that you get everything back the way it’s suppose to go. Even with that, you might have to improvise like I did in this video. **Sponsored video** with great information. SUNFIRE sent me one of their SUNFIRE 150 heaters to try out in my shop. I’ve been using a ‘torpedo’ heater for years, it works, but it’s quite loud. That doesn’t help when I’m shooting videos. The SUNFIRE 150 is quieter, and puts out more heat than the torpedo. I suspect it will run for much longer too since it has a larger fuel tank. Subaru WRX STI S209 Uses A Water Sprayed Intercooler For Max HP STI S209 First Look At NAIAS 2019 - https://youtu.be/FYsSeKJRKDs Subscribe for new videos every Wednesday! - https://goo.gl/VZstk7 EE Shirts! - http://bit.ly/2BHsiuo Recommended Books & Car Products - http://amzn.to/2BrekJm The Subaru STI S209 is the first time America gets an exclusive S Line Subaru STI. With a bigger turbo, revised intake and exhaust, new tune, and water injection system, the car now puts down 341 horsepower from its 2.5L boxer EJ25 engine. Forged pistons and connecting rods ensure the engine is up to the added pressures, and wider 265 bespoke tires all around, combined with Subaru s DCCD AWD system ensure the power is put down without a fuss. Here s how Subaru made their most powerful engine ever. From Subaru s Press Kit: - Debuts at 2019 North American International Auto Show - First-ever STI-crafted S-line performance vehicle sold in the United States - Limited production run of around 200 units - Available exclusively in the U.S. - 341-horsepower (est.) 2.5-liter SUBARU BOXER engine - Aggressive new look with wide fenders, front canards and rear wing - Performance-focused chassis with flexible strut tower bar and draw stiffeners - Exclusive 19 x 9-inch forged BBS® wheels with bespoke Dunlop® SP - Sport Maxx® GT600A tires - Brembo® brakes with new high-friction pads - Available in two exterior colors: World Rally Blue Pearl and Crystal White Pearl Subaru Tecnica International (STI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Subaru Corporation, today introduced the limited-edition STI S209, the first-ever S-line STI product produced exclusively for the U.S. market. As an S-line product, the STI S209 encompasses upgrades in power, handling, aerodynamics and driver engagement, and undergoes final assembly in Kiryu, Japan, where it receives engine modifications and bodywork alterations that in total require it to be homologated for the U.S. by STI; thus, the S209 is considered the first “STI-built” Subaru sold in the U.S. The S209 carries on a high-performance tradition that dates to STI-built models that were exclusive to the Japanese domestic market – the 2000 S201 through the 2018 S208. A thoroughly reworked version of the legendary EJ25 2.5-liter turbocharged BOXER engine propels the S209. Featuring an STI turbocharger manufactured by HKS®, the EJ25 serves up an estimated 341 horsepower, thanks in part to a larger turbine and compressor (up 6 and 8 percent, respectively, compared to WRX STI) as well as maximum boost pressure that has been increased to 18.0 psi (16.2 psi for WRX STI). Proudly displaying an S209 serial number plate, the enhanced BOXER engine utilizes forged pistons and connecting rods that are both lighter and stronger. Midrange torque, too, gets a notable bump, up 10 percent at 3,600 rpm, delivering higher corner exit speeds when driving on track. To feed more air to the EJ25, the S209 uses a high-flow intake system featuring a new intake duct, induction box with conical air filter, silicone turbo inlet duct and, a nod from the 2004-07 WRX STI, an intercooler water spray system that lowers intercooler temperature via manually operated steering-wheel paddles. More air demands more fuel, so the S209 receives a new high-flow fuel pump, larger fuel injectors and an STI-tuned engine control module. High-performance mufflers deliver 17-percent less airflow resistance while larger hand-polished stainless-steel exhaust tips – 101mm in diameter – deliver aggressive appearance and acoustics. Is gasket matching, or port matching worth it? Personally, I think so. I recently gasket matched the intake, cylinder heads, and exhaust headers on a 383 stroker and I have to say, I’m very happy with the result. The engine seems to run smoother throughout the RPM range. It also seems to pull a bit harder. I can’t say exactly how much power it was worth, but it did feel like an improvement over just bolting those parts together. I plan to do this to every engine I build going forward. In this video I cover the tools and processes needed to perform a gasket match, or port match on your engine. This information will apply to any gasket matching situation no matter what the engine displacement or design. I hope you find the info helpful. #ETCGVideo My Patreon Account: https://www.patreon.com/EricTheCarGuy The best place for answers to your automotive questions: http://www.ericthecarguy.com Check out the ETCG Blog for the latest info: https://www.ericthecarguy.com/blog Check out my ETCG1 channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/ETCG1?sub_confirmation=1 Thanks for watching! **Sponsored Video**with great information. Reading through the articles on LOCTITE’s website, I learned an interesting fact about fasteners, only 15% of the threads are making contact with most fasteners. I wasn’t under the impression that thread contact was 100%, but 15% seemed very low to me. LOCTITE thread locker is designed to take up all that extra space, not only for better fastening, but also to keep out contaminants like water which can cause corrosion. I hope you find the information in this video as interesting as I did. Would you like to sample LOCTITE Threadlockers? Yes, you read that correctly. I just purchased 2 2005 Honda Elements with manual transmissions no less. In my experience it’s not easy to find Elements with manual transmissions. In this video I do a full inspection on these new acquisitions. One of them has a bad engine unfortunately, but it should make for a nice video when I replace it. Watch the video to learn about the other discoveries I made during my inspections. Not long ago I posted a short series of videos replacing the 2.4L K series engine in my, new to me, 2005 Honda Element. Many of you asked about what went wrong with the engine. In this video I tear the K series apart to find out why it didn’t have compression in cylinder #2. I also add useful info on timing chain replacement, as well as some other common issues to look out for on the Honda K series engine. For those of you that want the engine, sorry, it s already been taken away. Thanks for your interest.
