In my opinion this is the world s best tip-up for nearly any species, but I find it works particularly well with finicky winter brook trout. They can be set in such as way as to never miss a bit as the arm tips over and slides the washer down the track. Best of all the arm stays down, the bait moves freely giving the fish slack, so fish aren t spooked or drop the minnow. When the bolt and washer runs the track, you can often hear it, also with the arm up, the red tape is highly visible even from a great distance against the white snow. In windy conditions, it s easy to set the arm against the wind to keep it from tipping over and on calm days it can be set level so that any touch of the tip-up will set it so you never miss a bite. Please show your version of this tip-up if you decide to make your own! Dimensions: - Base - 17" x 4" (3/4" thick) - Height - 10"x 2" (3/4" thick) - Arm - 27" (3/4" thick) - Balance point about 13 1/2" from front end (will depend on the size of your bolt/washer) - Track made of coat hanger - Real made of line spool - Eyeball the rest! Even though Britain went to war over the violation of the Belgian neutrality by the Germans, the neutrality of Greece seems to be of no concern to the Entente. The military presence on Corfu and Salonika is growing and growing. And even though there is no fighting there, the soldiers have to suffer since general Malaria is taking his toll. In the week of the Kaiser s birthday, the diplomatic tensions between the USA and Germany are increasing and on the Western Front Trench Foot is becoming a real problem. » HOW CAN I SUPPORT YOUR CHANNEL? A friend showed me a very innovative but more then 50 years old and very very small Espresso Maker from Hungary made between 1950 and 1970 "Sport Presso". I was impressed about all the details of this Coffee Maker and im wondering how many of such Outdoor Equipment or Gear is still around out there. So i went out in the snowy Swiss Mountains, found a natural shelter to share a beautiful day and this nice item with you all. To light the burning of fire tablets i use my Knife, Fatwood and Ferro Rod. The Terracotta Army was created during the reign of the first emperor of China s Qin dynasty (221-207 B.C.), to protect the emperor s tomb. 700,000 people probably worked on the site, near the city of Xian, for almost three decades. More than 8000 figures have been excavated so far. The tomb has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage site. Recorded October 2015 in 4K (Ultra HD) with Sony AX100. Subscribe - http://goo.gl/wpc2Q1 Has planet earth ever had a close encounter with aliens? While UFOs and their occupants have been part of our culture for more than a century, and people from many walks of life claim to have seen them, we have no indisputable evidence that they’re fact rather than fiction, or do we? Naked Science speaks to witnesses of two of the most controversial UFO sightings, the Rendlesham Forest incident in the UK and the Phoenix Lights sighting in the US, as well as the most famous UFO incident of all time, Roswell. If unidentified flying objects did come from space, how could they have travelled to earth? And how could they survive in our atmosphere? We talk to leading physicists and astrophysicists about the viability of interstellar travel and whether worm holes and warp drives could make it possible. Or perhaps extra-terrestrials will send tiny self-replicating nanobots to explore our Earth? Close encounters originated with reported sightings of alien craft, but in the last few decades alien contact has taken a new and more terrifying twist, alien abduction. We talk to a so called ‘experiencer’ who claims to have been taken from her bed and experimented on. She believes her claims but could there be another, scientific, explanation for what she remembers? We talk to a neuroscientist who thinks he has the answer. Finally, we ask possibly the most shocking question of all, could aliens already be among us?

It’s possibly one of the dullest documents you’re ever going to read, but the BIM Protocol does do some important things for building information modelling (BIM) projects. This 3 minute video with The B1M’s Fred Mills summarises what the BIM Protocol is, how it works and how to use it, in a clear and easy format. The BIM Protocol was developed by the United Kingdom’s (UK) Construction Industry Council. It’s a standardised supplementary legal agreement that can be incorporated into professional service appointments and construction contracts by a simple amendment. There are two parts at the end that you edit to make it specific to your project. The Protocol’s key objective is to enable the production of information models at defined stages of a project. It also supports collaborative working, requires the appointment of an Information Manager and enables common standards or working practices to be made an explicit contractual requirement. The BIM Protocol creates additional obligations and rights for the Employer and the contracted Party or Parties. It’s based on the direct contractual relationship between the Employer and the Supplier. It doesn’t cater for any rights or liabilities between different Suppliers. Where a Supplier is dependent on another (or on a Sub-Consultant or Sub-Contractor) to fulfil their obligations, those conditions need to be reflected in the agreements made between them. It’s important that everyone producing or delivering information models on a project has the BIM Protocol appended to their contracts. This ensures that everyone follows the same standards and ways of working and has the clear right to do so. Responsibility for ensuring that the Protocol is in place rests with the Employer. As we mentioned above, there are two editable appendices at the end of the Protocol that you use to make the standardised document relevant to your project: 1. Model Production and Delivery Table: This must include references to all building information models that are required by the Employer at each stage of the project. 2. Information Requirements: These should detail the information management standards that will be adopted on your project. The template Protocol helpfully includes some example entries in these appendices to guide you. When using the BIM Protocol, you need to be mindful that: 1. The same version of the document and its appendices are incorporated into each contract. 2. The wording is not amended (save for within the appendices). 3. All information models to be produced (by each Party contracted to the Employer on the project) are listed. 4. Any changes are treated as Contract Variations. You also need to remember that the BIM Protocol was developed as a means of amending existing forms of contract for use on BIM Level 2 projects. It works to a point at Level 2 but the industry is likely to have to fundamentally re-consider how it contracts as it progresses to BIM Level 3 and as work flows are digitised further. You can download a template BIM Protocol from the Construction Industry Council and learn more about how it can be implemented on projects here: http://www.bimtaskgroup.org/bim-protocol/ This video contains extracts of the UK Construction Industry Council’s BIM Protocol. © Construction Industry Council. I made a cord drill and then upgraded it to a pump drill. A cord drill is basically a spindle with a fly wheel attached so it looks like a spinning top. the middle of a piece of cord is then put into a notch at the top of the spindle. The ends of the cord are then wrapped around the spindle and then pulled quickly outwards causing the drill to spin. The momentum of the fly wheel causes the cord to wrap back around the spindle in the other direction. When it stops the cords are pulled outwards again and the drill spins in the other direction. I made the first one with a stone flywheel then made fire with it in the same way I make fire with fire sticks. Then I made and fired some clay fly wheels, made another drill with one of the fly wheels and fitted a stone drill bit to the end. This one I use for drilling holes in wood. I used the new drill to make a hole in a piece of wood. I then put the spindle of the original cord drill through the hole in the wood, tied the ends of the cord onto the piece of wood and it became a pump drill. The cords were wrapped round the spindle as normal but now a pumping action of the wooden cross bar created the same action. This was an interesting project. For fire making I d stick to fire sticks because the equipment is easier to make. But for people with soft hands they could use the cord drill as it won t give them blisters. It should be added that the pump drill actually took longer than the cord drill (cord: 32 seconds, pump 1 min 30 seconds -the pump drill scene was edited down to make it watchable). The pump drill had more moving parts and was constantly having problems. As a fire making method I d choose the cord drill over the pump drill unless all the parts were well made. The main purpose I d use these tool for is drilling holes rather than fire making. It was reasonably good but the stone bits I made could be improved and their attachment to the shaft also needs some thought. If the bit loosens and gets off axis slightly the whole thing wobbles. These drills are impressive inventions and show potential for carpentry use later on.
