Early tank designs such as the light Panzer I tank were technologically inferior. The tank commander and his crew however, were highly skilled and well trained. Panzer crewmen wore close fitting black uniforms, known as Panzer wraps inspired by the traditional uniform of the Brunswick Hussars. The headgear was a beret which worked as a soft padded crash helmet or a black field cap. In order to protect his dog, Adam takes the porcupine. It is well known that porcupine and dogs don t mix where porcupine will put quills into the muzzle of the dog which is very painful. Porcupine are very plentiful up North and sadly, because they have so little food, they often end up dead by the side of the road as they try to find new trees to eat. Reducing their numbers means that fewer will end up wasted on the road. They also make great table fair and are eaten around the world! In this epic episode Jeremy and I prepare a porcupine in a very traditional way. Learn how to pluck, singe and scrape off the quills and hair. We then examine how to cook using a primitive earth oven by covering it with white hot hot rocks and coals and cover overnight with dirt to steam and bake. This entire series is about catch n cook! Watch and find out how well it cooked and whether this traditional famine food is palatable. We discuss porcupine as a "survival food" and how it was traditionally used. Also on the menu is crushed cow corn in a traditional mortar and pestle combined with egg and fresh strawberries and blueberries with farmed raised pork fat, cooked over fire as a corn meal. But as Foreign Correspondent reporter Eric Campbell discovers, NATO is more a provocateur in the eyes of many ethnic Russians, who make up a quarter of Estonia’s population. But underlying its prosperity is renewed concern about Russian occupation, 25 years after the end of the Soviet Union. "If you don’t want a war, prepare for a war", says Kirsten, one of thousands of reservists who signed up after Russia annexed Crimea. The setting of NATO s annual war games, Estonia has become symbolic of the growing divide between Russia and the West. Yet for many Estonians, the threat from Russia feels local and real, as Kirsten s friend Maria explains: "Russia is next door to Estonia, so then I thought, why not come to protect like our family or country or nation ". These two women are not old enough to remember the days of Soviet occupation, but many do. "I remember the Soviet times. I remember the Soviet Army and I don’t want that back", Kaupo Karuse explains, "most of the world doesn’t understand the cost of freedom". Professionally, Kaupo is a software consultant, a member of Estonia s thriving computing and tech economy. As well as preparing militarily, Estonia is pushing cyber defence to the limit after suffering cyber attacks - which many blamed on Russia. However, Estonia s Russian community play down any tension, as Vladimir Cherdakov says, "if anyone says that Russia is a provocateur, I don’t believe it". In this video we explain the differences between a solar and lunar eclipse and why some believe that a total eclipse of the sun is the greatest natural phenomenon of them all. Total solar eclipses are a big deal not because of how infrequent they are — there’s a total solar eclipse every 18 months on average — but because of how little of the Earth’s surface falls in the path of any given eclipse shadow. The next total solar eclipse to visit the US will be in 2024. If an eclipse happens to come to your town, you’re lucky. Any given location will see a total solar eclipse only once in more than 300 years, on average. The vast majority of us will have to travel to an eclipse path if we want to see a total eclipse in our lifetimes.
