Bikers For Peace: The Iraq Bikers are the nation s first motorcycle club, set up to promote unity across the country. As uncertainty continues to rock Iraq, this multi-faith club is providing much needed hope. Subscribe to Journeyman here: http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=journeymanpictures "We have all suffered in this war, we are all touched by it". In a country that has been at war since the 1990 s, it is unsurprising that anger and resentment are widespread. Bilal leads the club, made up of Sunnis, Shias and Christians, and is determined to use it as a force for good. He "wants to look forwards not backwards- for an Iraq free of terror". But tensions in refugee camps still continue to simmer. With IS sympathisers and those who have been victimised by IS forced to live alongside each other, it is clear that Iraq is far from united. Whilst Iraq waits to see if the war against IS is genuinely finished, the Iraq Bikers continue to foster peace across their country. Twitter: https://twitter.com/Tenminhistory Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/user?u=4973164 This episode covers the aftermath of William the Conqueror s death and what his sons got up to. The relationship between England and Normandy takes centre stage as well as how this fits into France s issues at the time. Events come to a head after the death of Henry I and the anarchy which follows, pitting Empress Matilda against Stephen for the throne. All of this, of course, leads to the rise of the House of Plantagenet. In Laos, there s a town with a very seedy reputation. Not long ago, you could buy opium direct from a store menu. The time that earned it the reputation has passed, but not before leaving its mark. This is the story of tourism, and what locals have to give up to obtain it. This is Vang Vieng. Primitive

I bought a new property to shoot primitive technology videos on. The new area is dense tropical rainforest with a permanent creek. Starting completely from scratch, my first project was to build a simple dome hut and make a fire. First, I took some wood, Abroma mollis, for fire sticks. I knapped a small stone blade and used it to strip the fire sicks. Palm fibre was then taken for the tinder. The fire stick kit was then placed under a palm leaf to keep it out of the rain. Next, a stone from the creek was fashioned into a simple hand axe. This was used to cut a staff that was used to clear a path to the hut location. The location for the hut was a clearing densely crowded by native raspberry. This was then cleared using the staff and a small 2.5 m circle was levelled ready for building. Eight 2.75 m long saplings were cut using the hand axe and brought to the site. Eight holes about 25 cm deep were hammered into the ground in a circle 2.5 m in diameter and the saplings were then planted in. The tops were brought together at the top and tied with vine. A door lintel stick was lashed to the front about 75 cm off the ground giving a low door way. A stone flake was used to cut about 600 palm fronds. These were split and lashed horizontally to the frame creating a thatched dome. Mosquitoes are a real problem here so a fire was lit. The fire sticks from before had a hole carved in the base boards and had a notch carved to let the powder pour out. The spindle was twirled in the socket and smoking powder poured out producing a hot coal. This then ignited the palm fibre tinder. The fire was transferred to the hut and a small hearth was made of stones. The fire makes a big difference in the number of mosquitoes which seem unable to tolerate the smoke. The dome was completed up to the top and a small cap was made from lawyer cane and fronds to place on the top to keep rain out. When not in use the cap can be removed to let in more light like a sky light. Finally wood was cut for a bed. This consisted of wooden stakes hammered into the ground at the back of the hut behind the fire pit. Part of the bed frame is attached to the sapling uprights that form the dome. This works ok without the frame shaking too much due to the low attachment point of the bed. Wooden boards were then placed on this and were covered with palm fibre for bedding. Firewood is stored just inside the entrance on the left side of the door looking in. The bed sits behind the fire pit so smoke and flames deter insects or large animals reaching the occupant. Fire sticks and tools are kept just inside the right side of the entrance. The small hut is simple to build and creates a small, dry shelter for camping and storing tools. Though it is dark, the cap can be removed in fine weather to provide a fairly well-lit workspace protected from annoying insects. This new area has good stone, clay and materials lending themselves to elaborate shelters. A permanent creek runs through it. Mosquitoes are abundant here though and will be an issue. The Cassowary, a large, horned, flightless bird lives in this forest. It’s the most dangerous bird in the world, but generally only attacks when threatened. This is the FIRST time in history that skunk has been SHOWN to be EDIBLE! Other historical records mention it, but none have shown the exact process! We re making HISTORY! Paypal Donations: https://www.paypal.me/TheWoodedBeardsman Full Skunk Cleaning for Eating (Very Graphic) contains full skinning, gutting and de-glanding process): ??? Skunk is the ultimate survival food because no one else will know how to eat it but you!!! Even Bear Grylls who drinks his own urine and will shove stuff up his butt to get hydrated couldn t do it!!!!! I will include a full version of the skinning and de-glanding in a future video which is very likely to be marked as "age restricted." Keep watching this description for links...! In this part, we show in detail how to really prepare skunk for eating. This is very likely the only living proof that skunk can be made edible, putting Jeremy and I in a very unique club consisting of most likely a handful of people who have ever eaten and ENTIRE SKUNK! To my best knowledge this is the ONLY LIVING PROOF that this can be made edible and palatable. Many historic documents casually mention it as table fair, but none that I know have detailed instructions about exactly how the processing and cooking should be done. Jeremy (One Wildcrafter) also demonstrates a technique for getting rid of skunk smell using a common and natural household product. Adam Craig Outdoors also stops in for a taste-test! Shawn Woods tried, but was not successful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0E9YCoDyyE Bear Grylls failed too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GkZCayKC5eE Here is one historic record of skunk eating from a book called "What to Eat, and how to Cook It (New York 1863) by Pierre Blot: https://www.loc.gov/resource/rbc0001.2014bit16065/?st=gallery Opossum, Otter, Raccoon, Skunk, Woodchuck, Fox, etc. We cannot say that we have had much experience in cooking the above, but all these animals are eaten by many persons in different parts of this and other countries. We have eaten of all of them except the raccoon, and we must say that we found them good. It is well known that when our soldiers retook possession of Ship Island, they found plenty of raccoons on it, and ate all they could catch. One day we happened to meet a sub-officer who was there at the time, and enquired of him about it. He said he had never eaten any raccoons before, and did not know that they were eatable; but now he would eat them as readily as rabbits, as they were quite as good. The best time to eat either of the animals enumerated above is from Christmas to the 15th of February; squirrels also are not good in warm weather. How to prepare them.—As soon as the animal is killed skin it, take the inside out, save the liver and heart, and wash well with lukewarm water, and a little salt, in and outside; then wipe dry with a towel, put inside of it a few leaves of sage, bay leaves, mint and thyme, and sew it up. Hang it outside in a place sheltered from the sun, such as the northern side of a building; leave it thus five or six days, then take off and cook. We were hunting one day in New Jersey, northwest of Paterson, with a friend and two farmers living there, when one of them shot a skunk. We asked him how much he could get for the skin. He said it was not worth-while to take it to town, but that he would eat the animal, as it was very good. We thought at first that he was joking; but putting his gun and game bag to the ground, he looked at us earnestly and said, “Gentlemen, you seem to doubt; I will show you how it is done.” We soon saw that we had been mistaken. He made a fire, took hold of the skunk by the head with one hand, and with a stick in the other, held the skunk over the fire. He burnt off nearly all the hair, taking care to avoid burning the skin, commencing at the hind legs; then, -with his hunting knife, he carefully took off the bag containing the fetid matter, and skinned and cleaned it. We then examined the skunk, and although it had not been washed, we could not find any part of it which had smell, and if we had not seen the whole operation, we certainly would not have thought that it was a skunk, the very name of which is repulsive. The following week we dined with the farmer, ate some of that identical skunk, and found it very good. Merch (t-shirts): https://teespring.com/stores/the-wooded-beardsman

Crime Scene Pretoria (2014): Following his sentencing in 2014, Oscar Pistorius has had his sentence doubled. As top specialists in the US explain, the Pistorius case is unusual because CSI techniques are not being used to find the perpetrator, but to determine the motive of the killing. Yet the entire case rests on this evidence. "The blood spatter can indicate Reeva s position when she was shot. Which is important", a CSI first responder from Los Angeles tells us. The problem is that much of the crime scene evidence was corrupted by the South African first responders. "These cops trampled through the crime scene. They didn t collect things, they didn t photograph things. Any defence lawyer worth his salt is going to go after that." A fascinating look into the factors that will ultimately decide whether or not Oscar Pistorius is convicted. First we must convert RPM to radians per second. There is 2(pi) radians per revolution and 60 seconds in a minute. So 10,000 RPM equals (10000*2(pi))/60, which rounds to 1047. We then simply enter these values into the equation. For our first calculation on space station v we get a=(1047)^2*0.455=498,775 m/s^2 Acceleration due to gravity equals 9.8 m/s^2, so if we divide our answer by that we can see that it is 50,895 times the acceleration due to gravity. #cooking #selfreliance #cabin It gets warm in the cabin from my first 24+ hour fire in the woodstove while I chink the walls of the log cabin, cook a few meals, sharpen my knife by the fire, track animals through the forest and practice my archery skills on a target behind the cabin. I flush ruffed grouse while walking through the forest in the snow. Drone footage of the cabin in the snow adds perspective and shows the remoteness of the cabin and how vast the Canadian wilderness beyond the cabin is, especially since the forest and the ground is more visible with no leaves on the trees and a fresh dusting of snow. I finish the stone floor at the entranceway and under the fireplace as well and I need the long burning fire to keep it from freezing while it cures. To answer many questions last week about the wood splitter I used to process firewood, I talk about it in more detail and explain where to buy it (The man with the axe). I have many axes, each with its own purpose, and this chopper1 axe is probably my most unique and singular in purpose. In my weekly rant, I talk about respecting woman, why I like having strong women in my life and how Survival Lilly deals with the negativity and abuse she receives on her YouTube channel. At the end of the video in my self reflections, I answer the question, “how did I get out of $750,000 of debt?”, and why it will never happen again.
