Venturing out from the log cabin, we take a Canadian road trip into the wilderness to relax in the splendor of nature. We send our drone over the forests and waterfalls of Canada to see the incredible fall colors in the forest and immerse ourselves in the ASMR sounds of the natural world. Our road trip takes us to the north coast of Lake Superior to watch rushing rivers spill over granite cliffs and through cobblestone beaches where trout and salmon are returning to the rivers to spawn. It is very relaxing and calming, like an ASMR film. I camp in two places along the rivers and Cali, our golden retriever, leads the way as we hike through canyons, along cliffs and wade through rivers and the great inland sea of Lake Superior. We explore a tiny Canadian Wilderness island in Lake Superior with a beautiful sand beach and smooth rock that tapers down into the cold, crystal clear waters of the lake. At the cabin, I split firewood and talk about what I m doing this autumn around the cabin and I go for a walk to check out the beaver dam at the end of the meadow before going out on a canoe trip along the river to fish, camping along the way. This is a new video format for me, not something I m changing to, but a format I like to do occasionally as it s very relaxing for me to make and watch. Thanks to my wife for filming with the drone, I couldn t do this without her. Chemical Warfare (2000): Before Skripal and Assad, there was P. W. Botha. This film examines the chemical and biological programme developed under the apartheid regime in the 1980s. Subscribe to Journeyman here: http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=journeymanpictures# In the early 80 s President Bohta was becoming paranoid about the growing unrest in the townships Project Coast was hatched to develop a biological and chemical warfare Program which would not only suppress the townships but act as a weapon in war. Project Coast involved 200 staff and cost one hundred million rand. The Roodeplaat Research Base, 15 km north of Pretoria was the centre for the research. The labs were top secret and highly protected. Inside scientists were working on the ultimate chemical, biological weapon which would be small, undetectable and cause paralysis of the muscles or death. Dr. Goosen who headed the biological Program says the weapon Placed in the wrong hands could have killed millions . However luckily the project was disbanded in the early 90 s when power was handed over to Mandela. GPS & running: the good, the bad, and the art Subscribe to our channel! http://goo.gl/0bsAjO Source: https://www.nature.com/articles/ncomms14753 “Exercise contagion in a global social network”, Sinan Aral & Christos Nicolaides. Nature Communications, 2017. The Global Positioning System, or GPS, is changing the sport of running. Using GPS makes it easier to track, analyze, and share data about your runs. Some people, like Gene Lu, use the technology to create elaborate drawings, but you don’t need to be an artist in order to use GPS to improve your running. Researchers at The Massachusetts Institute of Technology conducted a study and determined that runners who share their efforts on social networks tend to run farther, faster, and longer than those who do not. With GPS, it’s easy to track and share data about your run. Along with the proliferation of GPS technology, the number of fitness-focused social networks has also increased. Now, runners have many options for where they can go to share their runs: Strava, Nike Run Club, MapMyRun and many others have all made sharing your run easy by developing mobile apps that users can download to their phones. Whether you’re like Gene, who uploads elaborate runs mapped to look like Darth Vader, or just using the app to track your daily jog, social network sharing, made even easier by GPS tracking, can help you improve.
