Alexander Litvinenko, a former officer of the Russian secret service, died in London in 2006 from poisoning by radioactive polonium. This film reveals for the first time the remarkable details of the Scotland Yard investigation into Alexander Litvinenko’s murder by Russian agents, and how he helped the police on his deathbed. Combining first hand testimony from key witnesses, with first class dramatisation of key events and never-before-seen archive, this film shows how the Russian Secret Service so nearly got away with murder, and demonstrates the ramifications that are still being played out today. It’s a question that has spanned countless hours of speculation among the communities of the Internet, giving birth to fictional films, television series and novels. It is one question that the majority of the world’s population dreads to imagine. What if Nazi Germany and the Axis Powers were not defeated during World War Two and Adolf Hitler’s dream of a Thousand Year Reich came to pass?

#sauna #logcabin #goldernretriever I continue with the sauna build, slowed down by a snowstorm one day and frigid temperatures the next, forcing me to pile the logs on top of the sauna walls and build a fire underneath to thaw them out. My dog, Cali the Golden Retriever, is at my side as always, relentlessly retrieving her training bumper until she falls asleep in front of the fire in the cabin. Inside the log cabin, I bottle (can) meat in a pressure canner on top of the wood-stove. I fry trout in cast iron on the woodstove and for breakfast, I continue my temporary ketogenic diet with a substantial meal of eggs, bacon and cheddar cheese fried in butter. To keep warm during the day while working on the log sauna, I place a cast iron pan on the fire inside the sauna under the tarp and logs and I heat up some leftover beef ribs and lamb shank in tomato sauce. What events were the most important events that ever happened in the history of the earth? The Earth- a giant hunk of rock and water that s home to the only known life in the universe. It s so vast and old that it seems unchanging, yet it has in fact experienced cataclysmic upheavals and routine facelifts over the course of its 4.5 billion year lifespan. Just like a human being, the earth ages, and as it does it goes through major changes. Hello and welcome to another episode of The Infographics Show- today we re taking a look at the most important events in the Earth s history. 4.5 billion years ago the Earth and most of the solar system was nothing more than a ring of protoplanetary dust circling the sun. However over time gravity gradually drew individual particles of dust together, creating ever larger clumps. Eventually the clumps grew to the size of boulders, then to the size of mountains, and over many millions of years the Earth was formed. Yet this newborn earth was nothing like what you see today, with little if any water and a surface that was perpetually molten. Over millions more years the outer layer cooled however to form a crust, and planetary impacts of comets and asteroids brought all the water that you see today to the Earth from space. Not long after the Earth s creation it s thought that gravity put it on a collision course with another nascent planet roughly the size of Mars. This planet, named Theia, slammed into the Earth with 100 million times more energy than the impact that wiped out the dinosaurs, and hurled vaporized chunks of both bodies out into space. Gravity eventually bound the ejecta together and created our Moon. This impact gave our planet the tilt it has today, which in turn gives us our four seasons, and helped stabilize its spin- two things which scientists believe were critical for the evolution of advanced life. Digging and setting the foundation for a small tiny off-grid cabin in the Canadian forest. We will use only hand tools including shovels, pick axes and pry bars, to dig pillars that will hold up the first floor framing joists for the tiny house. We are now working on the outhouse: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6j1N5TOmBLI Later will will us the Norwood Portable Sawmill to turn dead standing trees into lumber, which is the goal of this build; use materials around us to create something beautiful. This whole series is about building an all-seasons cabin that will house more than a few people. The idea is team-work, use of tools, hand tools and power tools when possible to construct something great that will bring us closer to nature and provide balance to our lives that we so desperately crave. This isn t about escaping the rat race, this is about getting close to things that help us get balance in our lives. Too much of anything, including isolation is horrible for the soul. In this series we use materials around us to construct a small forest cabin. We ll use cedar, pine, ash, maple, and whatever else we can scrounge up from the 30 acres around us. The aim is to avoid using as much store bought material as possible and keep the budget reasonably low. Originally we set a budget of $1000, but that included the use of a frame from an old camper trailer. As we build, the budget will remain flexible in effort to produce a cabin that we are proud of and one that will last a long while, be comfortable, and sleep real human beings. In episode 1, we dig in our "foundation" from reclaimed pressure treated 6x6 posts, level, and set the lower foundation in place which will then accept the first floor of the cabin. How one animal dug up carbon and put it back into the atmosphere at an astounding pace. Become a member of the Vox Video Lab! https://www.vox.com/join. Subscribe to our channel! http://goo.gl/0bsAjO Carbon cycles through earth at a steady pace. Plants and microorganisms absorb carbon, which helps them grow. Animals and bacteria eat the plants, breathe out carbon into the atmosphere, and take some carbon underground when they die. And a similar process happens in the ocean. It s nearly a closed loop, although some plants and animals don t decay fast enough so they turn into fossil fuel, which traps the carbon underground. But one animal started to dig up that carbon — and burn it.
