John Rawls, as we saw last time on Then & Now, came to the following conclusions about what a just society should like. He said that: ‘‘All social values—liberty and opportunity, income and wealth, and the bases of self-respect—are to be distributed equally unless an unequal distribution of any, or all, of these values, is to everyone’s advantage.’’ But what would this look like in practice? It’s only in recent years that attention has begun to be focused on how this might be implemented politically. Rawls barely addressed this question, but he did suggest two possible systems: liberal or democratic socialism, and property-owning democracy, and while he said that justice as fairness is agnostic between them, he leaned towards the latter. So what is a property-owning democracy? Property-owning democracy means citizens have a real stake in the productive capital of society, some ownership of the means of production. He writes: ‘Property-owning democracy avoids [inequalities], not by redistributing income to those with less at the end of each period, so to speak, but rather by ensuring the widespread ownership of productive assets and human capital (educated abilities and trained skills) at the beginning of each period’. If all citizens have a stake in a sizeable amount of property, access to capital and the productive decisions of society, it prevents power from resting in the hands of the few. A female fly can lay up to 150 eggs at a time. Over a period of a few days, the female can make 5-6 batches of eggs. Eggs are deposited in compost, manure and other decomposing organic material. Eggs resemble very small grains of rice. After 23 hours, the eggs hatch into the first larvae stage known as a maggot. These are legless white insects. They are basically worms with a mouth piece. All they do is crawl around eating voraciously. During the maggot stage, they will molt several times, once at 27 hours and 22 hours, and finally into a pupae at 130 hours. After feeding, the maggot will find a place to pupate or cocoon into a brown hard shell. This protects the inactive fly. Over the course of three to six days (143 hours), the pupae develop legs and wings, ultimately emerging as full-grown house flies. Within two to three days, female house flies are capable of completing the life cycle and depositing eggs or mating with a female. #南极#巨人#圣经#玛雅#历史#地球编年史#神话#考古 今天这期节目，应该是我做视频以来，最心潮澎湃的一次了！除了要跟大家探讨一下，南极大陆早就已经有远古人类居住的可能性以外。我还会跟大家分享一个绝对颠覆人类历史的发现。它不仅可能证明玛雅人的神话传说是真实，甚至还能证明世界各地神话当中，巨人存在的真实证据！它将直接把人们一直以为，短短几千年的人类的文明史，直接提高到几万年以前！ 之前的视频中我们就已经提到，在玛雅人的神话传说中，他们根本就不是美洲的原住民。他们的祖先，原来是住在一个被称为白色之地的地方，这里周围全都是水，而且环境非常恶劣，所以，他们没有办法，只好乘船离开，然后，再不停的搬家，最后来到了玛雅。 而最神奇的就是，我们看一下地图，就在南美洲旁边的南极，这里即符合“白色之地”的描述，而且周围也全部被水环绕，同时环境超级恶劣。所以，很多学者都认为，会不会是玛雅人的祖先就是从南极划船过来，然后一路向北来到玛雅的呢？ 根据布里斯托尔大学冰川学中心的调查，南极洲的冰盖面积并不是一直都是现在这样，覆盖的这么广阔。以下画面显示的是大约在2万年前，南极冰层不断的扩张的画面。也就是说在2万年前，在南极洲的边缘地带还存在着，并未完全冰封的地带。早在几万年前那里完全有可能让人类生存下来，只不过像玛雅人的神话传说中那样，那个地方环境非常恶劣，只够他们勉强存活下来。只不过后来冰原越来越广，这些玛雅人的祖先越来越无法生存，所以，他们被迫乘船离开了南极,登上了旁边的南美大陆。有意思的是，即使在现在，很多科学家们要探索南极，也都还是选择在这里地方登陆南极。不过，他们可以用飞机和轮船啊。但是，在我们普通人的概念中，几万年的的玛雅人祖先，那还在原始社会呢，怎么可能会用船来进行跨海远航呢？那么，接下来要给大家介绍的内容，应该就会颠覆大家的认知了。早在几万年前，其实早就已经有高智慧文明的人类出现了。他们或许早就已经学会造船了！ 不可思议的丹尼索瓦人 2008年，在西伯利亚的丹尼索瓦洞，考古学家们发现了3个丹尼索瓦人的化石。根据测算，他们生活在距今大约3-5万年前，但是，科学家杰克·克里认为，丹尼索瓦人比人们想象的那要先进得多的多了！因为他们在丹尼索瓦人的原始洞穴中发现了一件，可能是世界上最古老的珠宝，就是这个绿色的，明显经过抛光的镯子。而最关键的是杰克·克里认为，它至少有着4万年的历史！甚至，还有科学家认为它可能有6-7万年的历史。而且，他们认为这种珠宝只有在非常特殊的场合，他们的主人才会佩戴，比如：祭祀的时候！这就说明早在几万年丹尼索瓦人就已经有宗教意识了！那个这个手镯到底是干嘛的呢？一会我们再说。然后，让我们再仔细观看看这个手镯，上面居然还有着一个0.8厘米的小洞，而且，有着非常明显的人工加工的痕迹。要知道这可是几万年的造物，他们是怎么做到的？这就让很多人类学家完全傻眼了，一直以来他们都认为，人类可能就短短几千年的文明史，这样的工艺品根本不应该出自于如此古老的原始人手中！ 而且，这还没有完，刚才的手镯是在第11层挖到的，当他们挖到最深一层的时候，他们居然发现了一堆至少有30多万年历史的石器。这些粗糙的石器你可能觉得没什么大不了的。但是，接着他们又找到了一根制作非常精细的骨针，还有精细打磨过的类似于戒指的物件。这么小的针孔，没有机械，金属工具，几万年，甚至是几十万年前的他们到底是怎么制作的，没有任何科学家能够回答这个问题。
