On February 18, 2021, the Perseverance Mars Rover will touch down on the Red Planet. The rover will seek signs of ancient life and collect samples of rock and regolith (broken rock and soil) for possible return to Earth. Similar in size to a car, Perseverance is the heaviest rover we ve ever sent to the surface of Mars, carrying a variety of out-of-this-world experiments that will help prepare us for future human exploration. From the remains of a horned demon to a secret underground maze of horrors, here are ten of the most mysterious and scary archaeological discoveries! Follow us on instagram! https://www.instagram.com/katrinaexplained/ Subscribe For New Videos! http://goo.gl/UIzLeB Check out these videos you might like: Unbelievable Animals SAVING Other Animals! 🐯https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HxehUWvMr38 LARGEST Animals Ever Discovered! 🐙https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Yj7F_tPYsU Wild Animals That SAVED Human Lives! 🐻https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mllqeVSsIl0 10: Horned Humans Let s take a look at the skull of a horned human, shall we? It was allegedly uncovered sometime in the 1800s from a burial mound in Pennsylvania. What’s more, it wasn’t the only one. When the burial mound was uncovered, excavators actually unearthed several skeletons that were abnormally tall, standing at over 7 feet (2,13 m). 9: The Limb Pit When talking about mysterious and scary archaeological discoveries, the limb pit definitely leans more to the side of scary. Scientists first uncovered this pit of human bones at a former Civil War battlefield in Virginia. But instead of finding complete skeletons, scientists uncovered the amputated limbs of Union soldiers. 8: The Mystery of Herxheim The Mystery of Herxheim is incredibly disturbing. The story takes us back to the year 5300 BCE in Southwest Germany. Herxheim was a quiet Stone Age settlement. The houses were basic, the small village had a rudimentary grasp on farming, and the village was in a pretty safe place from invaders. 7: The Hanging Coffins The last thing anyone wants to discover while wandering through the hot Filipino jungle is a collection of hanging coffins nailed to the face of a cliff. But while it might seem strange to us, members of the local mountain Igorot tribe in the north of the Philippines have been practicing this tradition for centuries. 6: “Hand of God” Near Hadrian s Wall in the North of England, a mysterious bronze hand from Roman times has been discovered, known as the “Hand of God.” The hand was discovered at a site called Vindolanda, an ancient fort from the days when Rome ruled modern-day England. 5: Neolithic Horrors Mass graves in Germany and Austria have revealed that prehistoric farmers were pretty hard core. Not only did the original farming communities grow crops, but they also engaged in systematic violence 7000 years ago. The skeletons discovered inside one of the mass graves showed that 26 victims had their shin bones broken, many of them children, before they had their bodies dumped into a pit. 4: Secret Tunnel Maze This next discovery was made by archaeologists thanks to advanced robots! Small robots designed by Stanford University uncovered a secret tunnel maze hiding beneath an elaborate temple in Peru. 3: The Vampire Grave It looks like vampires once roamed Bulgaria! At least, that appears to be the case, based on the findings archeologists made of a peculiar skeleton. A newly uncovered grave in Bulgaria has revealed a skeleton that had likely fallen victim to the vampire hysteria that crippled Eastern Europe until, let s be honest, relatively recently. 2: Anthropomorphic Ruins A massive pyramid found in China is full of mysterious designs. The pyramid was found along with a huge city, each about 4000 years old. And while the ancient city and the ancient pyramid are mysterious enough by themselves, what s really odd is that researchers have found anthropomorphic designs decorating the exterior of the pyramid. 1: Murder Island Murder Island doesn t really sound like somewhere you want to spend your next vacation. The island is located off the west coast of Australia, and archaeologists have uncovered a gruesome secret. #mysteriousdiscoveries #scariestdiscoveries #archaeologicaldiscoveries #originsexplained

From frogs that can lift rocks to a croc with teeth the size of bananas, here are 9 of the biggest animals from the past and present! Follow us on instagram! https://www.instagram.com/katrinaexplained/ Subscribe For New Videos! http://goo.gl/UIzLeB Check out these videos you might like: Unbelievable Animals SAVING Other Animals! 🐯https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HxehUWvMr38 LARGEST Animals Ever Discovered! 🐙https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Yj7F_tPYsU Wild Animals That SAVED Human Lives! 🐻https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mllqeVSsIl0 9. Goliath Frog Weighing up to 7.2 pounds (3.3 kg) -- around the same size as a newborn baby -- the goliath frog (Conraua goliath) is the world’s largest frog. It can grow to the size of a typical house cat, reaching as much as 12-and-a-half inches (32 cm) long. 8. Griffinflies Some of the largest-known insects that ever existed were giant dragonfly-like predators called griffinflies from the extinct Meganeuropsis genus. They very much resembled modern-day dragonflies, but are only distantly related to them and were much bigger, with bodies measuring over a foot-and-a-half (45.7 cm) long and wingspans of up to two-and-a-half feet (75 cm) across. That’s Jumanji size right there! 7. Giant Huntsman Spider You’d probably agree that the idea of a spider the size of a dinner plate is utterly terrifying, but such a thing actually exists. Discovered in Laos in 2001, the giant huntsman spider (Heteropoda maxima) is the world’s largest spider by legspan, measuring up to a foot (30.5 cm) across. 6. Titanoboa South America’s tropical jungles were vastly different during prehistoric times than they are today. For one, everything was bigger, including plants and animals. Crocodiles exceeded 33 feet (10 meters) in length, seven-foot-long (2.1 meters) lungfish tripled the size of those today and turtles were the size of cars!! 5. Giant Otter While the wildlife in modern-day South America is nowhere near as large as it once was, the continent is still home to some impressively huge creatures. For example, the giant otter (Pteronura brasiliensis). 4. Sea Scorpion In 2007, scientists announced the discovery of Jaekelopterus rhenaniae, the largest sea scorpion and arthropod that ever existed. Measuring up to 8.2 feet (2.5 meters) long, it readily exceeded the size of a human. 3. Giant Oarfish As the world’s largest bony fish, the giant oarfish (Regalecus glesne) grows up to 56 feet (17 meters) long. Even though it’s so big, the species is rarely seen and scientists know very little about it. 2. Gargantuan Millipedes Some of the largest arthropods and insects ever to roam the planet came from the extinct Arthropleura genus of invertebrates. They are related to modern-day centipedes and millipedes, strongly resembling the latter. The biggest among them grew as much as six-and-a-half feet (2 meters) long and sometimes reached over a foot-and-a-half (45.7 cm) wide. 1. Supercroc In 1997, paleontologists working in Niger found the human-sized jawbone of a ‘supercroc’ (Sarcosuchus imperator), a giant relative of modern crocodiles and the largest known crocodilian that ever lived. #biggestanimals #biggestcreatures #giantcreatures #originsexplained

The butcher, the baker, the grocer and the ironmonger are joined by a dressmaker, and together they must provide a modern town with the exceptional service and luxuriant shop displays worthy of the Edwardians. The baker s family find themselves running an Edwardian tea shop, while the butchers must sell game in all its gory glory to modern customers. The grocer has trained staff, but the challenge of creating an early 20th century wedding breakfast piles on the pressure. All the shopkeepers struggle with maintaining standards, and it becomes clear that underneath its glossy veneer the Edwardian high street was a tough place for women and children. The arrival of call-up papers reminds the traders and the town of the terrible impact that World War One had on Britain s communities. It s like Netflix for history... How did Muslims conquer The Levant? - Arab-Byzantine Wars - Part 2 When Muhammad died, Abu Bakr became his successor, although not as a prophet. The prophethood is said to have ended with Muhammad, but Abu took the title of Caliph in his place at the agreement of the Muslims of Medina. After Abu, Umar, Uthman, and Ali maintained the Rashidun Caliphate and embarked upon new missions to spread their power and faith across the region. During the first caliph’s reign, some of the displeased Arab tribes engaged in the Ridda Wars, or Wars of Apostasy, with the caliphate’s troops. Following Muhammad’s passing, a handful of the tribes had broken ties with the caliphate, stating that their allegiance to Muhammad was purely a personal loyalty, and some of the tribe’s leaders went as far as claiming to be the prophet’s successor in prophethood, which sparked the discord. Although the conflict did require military engagement, Abu and his men were quickly able to suppress the rebellions through both war and diplomacy and consolidate their power over the Arabian Peninsula so they could shift their focus outward. ♦Consider to Support the Channel of Patreon and gain cool stuff: https://www.patreon.com/Knowledgia ♦Please consider to SUBSCRIBE: https://goo.gl/YJNqek ♦Music Used : Music: Legionnaire by Scott Buckley – www.scottbuckley.com.au Link:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7uIYYEM45b4 ♦Sources : Al-Baladhuri, Ahmad ibn Yahya (9th century), Kitab Futuh al-Buldan Al-Waqidi, Abu Abdullah Muhammad Ibn Umar (8th century), Fatuh al Sham (Conquest of Syria) Chronicle of Fredegar, 658 Fragment on the Arab Conquests, 636 Chronicle of 819 Britannica.com #History #Documentary
