Today, Adolf Hitler’s autobiography cum Nazi manifesto is still sold all over the world, under the counter, on the internet or simply at the bookshop. This 700 page book, published in 1925, was re-edited numerous times since the death of the author. How was it written? Was Hitler really the author? Were the war and the Holocaust truly inscribed in its pages? This documentary plunges deep into the secrets of Mein Kampf. A simple book of paradoxes: famous but unknown, fascinating and repulsive. 📺 It s like Netflix for history... Sahara dust in the Caribbean, moving land masses by the moon and an icy world at the poles - The second part of the documentary shows us more amazing phenomena of the Earth. In the second part of the documentary "A Day in The Lift of Earth - The Day Begins", we show you the change of our earth because of the moon and erosion. The gargantuan force the moon exerts on the earth every day well it doesn t stop at water. Every child knows that. But what many people don’t realize is that the moon also tides in earth, so what are called solid earth tides. Another spectacular phenomenon of the earth are the changes caused by erosion. How is it possible that Sahara dust is found in the Caribbean? A different extreme to the Sahara desert are the ice surfaces in the Arctis and the Antarctis. Hardly anyone knows that not only the reflective properties, but also the salinity of the seas and the ice influence our entire weather system. #documentary #sciencedocumentary #earthdocumentary ---- The universe is vast, much like our imagination. Globalization used to be a guarantor of economic growth. No longer, and the losers are poorer nations. They have restricted access to global markets and are largely excluded from beneficial labor migration. Part 2: https://youtu.be/gIYaSEwoblY Unfettered access to the world’s economic markets should boost prosperity and foster peaceful international coexistence - in theory. But which countries take advantage of the opportunities presented by global competition? And which countries avoid it, preferring to protect their economies at the expense of the poor? And why does free global trade preach the unrestricted movement of goods, while setting limits on labor migration? With these questions and contradictions in mind, we travel through the US, Peru, Senegal and Europe. An agreement with China means the former steel producing center Duisburg is eyeing a renaissance. America, on the other hand, blames China and globalization for its declining steel industry. Billions of US dollars are invested in domestic industries and agriculture as part of the country’s "America First” policy stance. This has a detrimental effect on poorer nations. For example Peru, a nation left behind by globalization that’s making little progress in the fight against poverty. When it comes to worldwide migration, there are clear winners and losers. Spain’s farming sector is starved of workers, while the EU resists immigration. In countries like Senegal, where illegal fishing and the appropriation of farmland by international concerns has left people destitute, migrants are leaving in search of a better life. One of the chief beneficiaries of globalization is China, whose migrant workers represent the confidence and strategy of their powerful homeland. "Globalization in Crisis" is a two-part documentary telling the stories of those who benefit - and those who suffer - as a result of globalization. MIT engineers had already proved that pine branches can be used as water filters as the thin membranes connecting the straw like xylem filter out 99% of bacteria such as E.coli which make water unsafe to drink ( https://meche.mit.edu/news-media/mit-engineers-make-filters-tree-branches-purify-drinking-water ). Taking this concept, I used a type of cane in the forest and bent them into hook shapes, tying them in place with vine. Then I put dirty water into a raised pot and siphoned clean water from it into a lower collection pot. Initially some sap comes (which is also harmless to drink) out but then water flows through the stem. It does take a while for it to work but the process can be sped up by adding multiple canes working in parallel. The water that came through is clean and I was able to drink it without ill effect. After a few days the canes clog up and need replacing though one cane lasted longer than the others for some reason. Also in this video, I test the effectiveness of filtering water through a clay pot submerged in a creek, the ceramic walls acting as a filter for the creek water. Both methods seem to work but the clay pot method is more useable and needs less maintenance. But, the cane siphon would be better if no clay pots were available, simply filtering water from a puddle into a lower collection container such as a folded leaf. 00:00- Making filter/siphon 02:12- Using filter/siphon 03:53- Alternative pot filter About Primitive Technology: Primitive technology is a hobby where you build things in the wild completely from scratch using no modern tools or materials. These are the strict rules: If you want a fire, use a fire stick - An axe, pick up a stone and shape it - A hut, build one from trees, mud, rocks etc. The challenge is seeing how far you can go without utilizing modern technology. I do not live in the wild, but enjoy building shelter, tools, and more, only utilizing natural materials. To find specific videos, visit my playlist tab for building videos focused on pyrotechnology, shelter, weapons, food & agriculture, tools & machines, and weaving & fiber. #PrimitiveTechnology #waterfilter #survival

Designed by architect Bruce Graham and engineer Fazlur Rahman Khan of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), it opened in 1973 as the world s tallest building, a title that it held for nearly 25 years. It is currently the third-tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, as well as the 23rd-tallest in the world. Each year, more than 1.7 million people visit the Skydeck observation deck, the highest in the United States, making it one of Chicago s most popular tourist destinations. The building occupies a site bounded by Franklin Street, Jackson Boulevard, Wacker Drive, and Adams Street. Graham and Khan designed the building as nine square "tubes", clustered in a 3×3 matrix; seven of the tubes set back at upper floors. The tower has 108 stories as counted by standard methods, though the building s owners count the main roof as 109 and the mechanical penthouse roof as 110.The facade is made of anodized aluminum and black glass. The base of the building contains a retail complex known as the Catalog. The lower half of the tower was originally occupied by retail company Sears, which had its headquarters there until 1994, while the upper stories were rented out. The structure was known as the Sears Tower from its construction until the naming rights were included in a 2009 lease with the Willis Group. Local area residents still refer to the building by its old name. As of April 2018, the building s largest tenant is United Airlines, which occupies around 20 floors. Other major tenants include the building s namesake Willis Towers Watson and law firms Schiff Hardin and Seyfarth Shaw. Morgan Stanley became the building s fourth-largest tenant in 2017. Could there be life under the icy surface of Europa? Neil deGrasse Tyson and comic Chuck Nice explore interplanetary missions, asteroid mining, and other exciting launches with the Director of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Laurie Leshin. Learn about what the director of JPL gets to do and what goals she has for JPL projects in the future. We hear about plans to visit Jupiter’s moon Europa, to return a sample from Mars, explore an asteroid called Psyche, and a new Earth science project named SWOT: Surface Water and Ocean Topography. What are the challenges for a mission to Europa? Could there be life there? Find out about plans for our first Europa mission and what makes this moon of Jupiter so special. Will fusion play a role in space travel? How is NASA already using nuclear energy in space? We talk about reusable spaceships and how to get a sample back from Mars. Will we soon mine near-Earth asteroids? With so many missions to the moon, what makes Artemis special? What are new promising technologies in space travel? Could we use a space laser to get through the ice on Europa? All that, plus hear about many exciting projects that you might not know about… Thanks to our Patrons Statton Broxham, Ethan Codyre, Ron Lanier, Nathaniel England, and Roger Lee for supporting us this week.
