In 1913, suffragette Emily Davison disrupted a major horse race in the name of winning British women the vote. They delivered public speeches, marched, displayed colorful banners, and got thrown in jail, all in an effort to pressure legislators to extend suffrage to women. But after a violent clash with police in November 1910 — a day known as “Black Friday” — their tactics changed. They began committing random acts of property damage: smashing windows, setting fire to buildings, even destroying fine art on public display. The most radical act of destruction came in 1913, when militant suffragette Emily Wilding Davison threw herself under King George V’s racehorse at a major public event. She died of her injuries and became a suffragette martyr. Ultimately, her funeral procession ended up being one of the largest, and last, major demonstrations by the militant suffragettes. World War I interrupted their protests, and women over 30 won the vote in 1918, when the war ended. In this introduction to Baudrillard, I look at his thought as it developed from a Marxist framework in Symbolic Exchange and death through to his hyperreal postmodern period exemplified in Simulacra and Simulation. I take an in-depth look at a number of his concepts. First I look at sign-value, which he argued must supplement Marx’s framework of use-value and exchange-value. He then takes this central concept forward arguing that copies of the real – simulacra – became increasingly detached from reality, referencing themselves more than the real and so developing a hyperreality. Postmodernity directs social life through code and simulation. Finally, I look at the concept of Symbolic Exchange; a basis for revolutionary thought that is meant to emphasize social life, ritual, gift-giving, energy expenditure, and neo-aristocratic values. Get your battle axe ready - Sohla is taking us back to 800 AD to recreate a true viking solstice feast. This feast includes Skause, a viking stew, along with a traditional Birch Bark bread. THE RECIPES Skause - 1 pound bone-in venison, cut into 1-inch pieces - ½ pound bone-in reindeer meat, cut into 1-inch pieces - 4 teaspoons kosher salt, plus more - 8 medium parsnips, cut into 1-inch chunks - 5 medium white carrots, cut into 1-inch chunks - ½ head green cabbage, shredded - 100 grams ramsons, chopped - 1 tablespoon fennel seeds - 1 tablespoon mustard seeds - 1 tablespoon dill seeds 1. In a large pot, combine venison, reindeer, and salt. 2. Cover with water. 3. Bring a to a boil over high heat, then reduce to a simmer and cook gently until tender. 4. Skim off any scum that floats to the surface. 5. Remove the pieces of meat from the broth. 6. Pull off the bones and return the meat to the broth. 7. Add all the vegetables and spices to the pot. 8. Taste and add salt as needed. 9. Simmer until vegetables grow tender. Birch Bark Bread - 1 cup of rolled oats or birch bark flour - 4 ¼ cups rye flour - 1 ½ teaspoons kosher salt, plus more salted cultured butter, melted 1. In a large bowl, whisk together the oats, flour, and salt. Add enough water to bring together into a dough. 2. Knead until smooth. 3. Divide dough into 3 portions and flatten each portion into a paper-thin circle using a kruskavel. 4. Cut out a circle in the middle of the bread so there is a hole 5. Brush each flatbread with butter and sprinkle with a little salt. 6. Heat the oven to 425. 7. 今天我们来聊这本被复旦大学认证，并出版的神书。里面居然详细的记载着，如何得到神通，预知未来，透视，以及超远距离遥视的方法！而且最重要的是，它不像古代流传下来的修行古书，一般人就算看了，也很难了解其中的真谛。 但是这本书完全不一样，它是复旦大学哲学系一位教师，跟踪调查一位拥有神通修行者，孔宪德先生，亲身验证过后。而写下的一本现代修行书籍。没有文言文，也没有修行者之间才懂的秘密语言。它把修行界的秘密，完全透明的展现给了任何的普通人，任何人都能够看的懂。 如果你还不知道，这位孔宪德先生有多神奇的超能力。那么你可以看看，我之前这个视频，那里有详细的介绍。今天就不赘述了。 好了话不多说，我们今天就来看看这本书里面，到底说了什么修行的秘密！ 孔先生说，不管是佛家，还是道家，古人总结了许许多多修炼神通的方法。而他自己不管是儒释道三家，都有深入的学习。甚至连很神秘的，佛家密宗，他也有学过！而他修行了几十年，却把修行，只总结成了4个字。这个四个字，你看电视肯定见过。那就是正大光明。我们平时看电视里，这个正大光明，是不是都以为，它是在说，做皇帝就要心怀坦荡，言行正派。 对吧！但其实，这四个字后面，还隐藏着修行界的秘密！ 这四个字谁写的，最开始是由顺治帝所写。顺治帝不一般啊，他是中国最后一个皇帝和尚！他是真的出家修行过！而且有这么一个传说，顺治帝还没出家前，就非常笃信佛教，因此他经常向一些高僧请教国运，有一次，顺治皇帝毕恭毕敬地向高僧请教大清国运时，高僧掐指预言，说了八个字：“我身不残，国祚不灭。”顺治皇帝当时不明白啊，本来希望老僧能解释给自己听。结果老僧闭口不言，说：“天机不可泄露啊” 。顺治帝知道大师不肯说，自己强求也是没有办法的。于是只好接着又问，大清能传到几代呢？老僧又预言说：“十帝在位九帝囚，还有一帝在幽州。” 顺治帝虽然当时还是不明白，但是他知道大师是不会详细解释的，于是就记下了，这二十二个字，传给后人，以作警示。 而后来预言果然应验了。清朝入关以后一共有十位皇帝，这就是十帝在位。而到第九位皇帝光绪时，果然被慈禧太后所幽禁在/yíng/瀛台。这便是九帝囚。而末代皇帝溥仪，则在清朝灭亡以后逃到了东北，建立了伪满洲政权，而北部地区在古代正好就叫“幽州”！这不就是还有一帝在幽州吗？ 成为此频道的会员即可获享以下福利： https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfkFEfvGzuMT4hK0suu_Q2g/join
