The US colonized a country and built a labor supply. Become a Video Lab member! http://bit.ly/video-lab Filipino nurses have been disproportionately affected by the coronavirus in the US. That’s because they make up an outsized portion of the nursing workforce. About one-third of all foreign-born nurses in the US are Filipino. Since 1960, 150,000 Filipino nurses have come to work in the US. And that’s because over the past century the US built a pipeline that draws nurses from the Philippines every time it faces a shortage. This system began in the early 20th century when the US invaded and colonized the Philippines and lives on through today. To understand the long history behind the large presence of Filipino nurses in the US and how and why it continues to this very day, watch the video above. Not every man can be a submariner, and though it is a 100% all-volunteer force, the US Navy s submarine fleet has very stringent entry requirements. Individuals must be male, pass a series of academic tests, psychological evaluations, and intensive courses on the fundamentals of submarine operations. With deployments that can last for hundreds of days at a time and disaster being only one mistake away, the Navy must be confident that it is entrusting some of the most expensive weapons in its arsenal, and the hundred-plus lives within them, to only the most psychologically stable and academically qualified individuals. Affect Theory is a field that arose out of the ‘affective turn’ of the mid-90’s, influenced by thinkers like Spinoza, Bergson and Deleuze. I take a look at some of the foundational ideas, especially through the work of Brian Massumi (Parables of the Virtual) and Eve Sedgwick (Touching Feeling). The video looks at attempts to overcome the dualistic mind-body divide, so dominant in western thought. I also look at how Sedgwick draws upon the work of Judith Butler and Performative Utterances. My family starts building a cedar geodesic growing dome greenhouse with help from Arctic Acres at our off grid wilderness homestead. Despite heavy rain and hail, we get the cedar dome erected and start installing the clear panels before the weather turns even worse, stopping us from finishing. 成为此频道的会员即可获享以下福利： https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfkFEfvGzuMT4hK0suu_Q2g/join 在庄子逍遥游中，记载着一位真人，他住在藐姑射（miǎo gū yè ）之山，他肤若冰雪，绰约chuòyuē若雏子。像画中人一样，他不食五谷，吸风饮露。还可以乘云气，御飞龙，而游乎四海之外。此外，他还有一项绝妙的法术，叫其神凝，这也是后来庄子最重要的修炼心法，以后有机会我们在详聊。而这位藐姑射山仙人的其神凝术，更是出神入化，书中说，使物不疵疠cī lì而年谷熟。就是说他只要一聚精会神，就能让整个天下风调雨顺，五谷丰登。然而，除了庄子逍遥游中记载过真人，早在上古时代，像山海经，黄帝内经等等这些奇书也都曾记载过，远古的仙人在世。难道这一切只是巧合吗？有没有可能早在上古历史中，就存在过真实的修真时代呢？而这些奇书会不会就是出那些，真正的修真者之手呢？ 修真时代真的存在吗？ hi 大家好，我是大师兄。今天我们就来聊聊修真者的故事。 那么我们继续以《庄子》一书为出发点，试着来复原一下那个神秘的时代，看看真人或者修真者到底与我们有何不同？ 有意思的是，据庄子的描述，真正的仙人，不是我们平时想象中那样，美丽，或者仙风道骨。他们很少像藐姑射那样仙气飘飘的。相反的他们大都是些丑八怪，甚至有些还缺胳膊少腿的，单从外形看就一个字，就是惨。不过他们身上，似乎都有着一种特殊的魔力，比如庄子《德充符》一文中说，我国有个兀者，这兀就是失去一只脚的人，而这个兀者叫做王骀tái，据说在鲁国追随他的人和追随孔子的人，几乎是平分秋色。但是王骀这个人很奇怪，不怎么说话，平常也不教人学问技能，可是见到他的人全都满载而归。于是有人就跑去问孔子了，这到底是怎么回事呢？孔子就说，其实我都想领着天下人，一起去追随他呢，只是还没有来得及而已。来人就更吃惊了，一路追问下去，逼得孔子说出了实情，他说，像王骀这样的人。他们主宰天地，包藏万物，以形体为寓所，以耳目为表象，视万物为一体。从未丧失本真之心，没准哪天啊，他就得道飞升了，人们怎么可能不追随他呢？ 除此之外，庄子还写了个叫āi哀骀它的人，长得极丑无比，要财富没财富，要地位没地位。可奇怪的就是，只要跟他相处过的人都舍不得离开，甚至很多女人见了他，都哭着喊着要当他的小妾。鲁国国君鲁哀公觉得这事太邪乎了，就把哀骀它找了过来。鲁哀公一看，这人果然长得特别吓人，但没过多久，怪事发生了，鲁哀公居然非得让他来做自己的宰相。而且态度诚惶诚恐，生怕他不接受。再后来哀胎它辞别而去，鲁哀公特别失落，于是也找到了孔子，把事情一说，就问这个哀骀它，到底是个什么样的人。孔子说，我当年去楚国，看到一群小猪正在吮吸死去母猪的乳汁，可是过一会儿，小猪们就都惊慌的跑开了。可见啊，小猪爱自己的母亲，爱的不是这个外在的给它们喂奶的形骸，而是那个看不见，摸不着主宰形骸的内在精神。而哀胎它就是一个内在精神趋于完美的全得之人。所以说这样的人，不用财富，不用美貌，却能用无形的精神感化周围的凡夫。而像王骀，哀骀它这样的人，在庄子一书中一抓一大把，你们可能会发现为什么这2个人名字中都有个骀字呢？这些不会都是庄子自己脑洞出来，虚构的奇人异事吧？ 但是也有认为，庄子说的可能都是真实存在的历史故事。因为在黄帝之前，黄帝内经开篇的“上古天真论”里，黄帝在和歧伯的对话中提到，余闻上古之人，春秋皆度百岁，而动作不衰。意思是，这上古的人，动则就可以活个一百个春秋，而且到了100岁行动还没任何的迟缓，可见他们应该不是普通人，而是修真者。后面又说，余闻上古有真人者，提絜xié天地，把握阴阳，呼吸精气，独立守神，肌肉若一，故能受敝bì天地，无有终时。这一段的意思，就更了不得了，意思就是说，在上古时代，活一百个春秋那都已经是普通人了，对于达到真人层次的修真者来说，他们早已掌握了天地阴阳变化的规律，能够自由的调节呼吸，吸收精纯的清气，超然独处，令精神守持于内，使筋骨肌肉与整个身体达到高度的协调，所以他们的寿命与天地共存，没有终了的时候。 尽管黄帝内经和黄帝的关系尚有争议，但至少说明，在黄帝内经的作者看来，远在黄帝之前，那些修真的仙人是很普遍的存，而真人的存在也早就不是什么秘密了。
