But at double his recommended weight and with a biological age of 64 at the age of 38, he may just not have much time full stop. Can a nation known for its longevity save Craig from death by pizza? This fresh and funny doc follows Craig on an action-packed culinary voyage of discovery to Japan, as he learns a whole new approach to food and fulfillment. "A well rounded diet is important, so I try to include all the important food groups: bacon, eggs, sausages, hash browns...", explains Craig: eating well is not high up on his to do list. Often surviving solely on fast-food, Craig s unhealthy lifestyle has left him with serious health issues, and, at almost 140 kilos, he is double his medically recommended weight. In the face of these pressing problems, Craig looks to Japan for inspiration. It is well known that the Japanese live some of the healthiest and longest lives in the developed world, and have the lowest rates of cancer and diabetes. Determined to turn his health around, Craig pledges to adopt the Japanese way of eating, explaining, "if I can t make this lifestyle work now, I don t know how many more chances I m going to get". Travelling to Japan for 2 weeks, Craig is determined to master their active way of life and relationship with food. Armed with his purple training chopsticks, he travels the country, cooking up pumpkin tempura in a Buddhist temple, brewing green tea with a traditional tea master, preparing lunch with a young family and scouring local supermarkets, interacting with locals from all walks of Japanese life along the way. A slimmer Craig brings this Japanese approach to food back to his native Australia, completely adopting their culinary culture and turning his back on greasy fast food. After 12 weeks a new series of tests show he is no longer at risk of diabetes or coronary disease, his liver function is back to normal and his biological age has dropped by 10 years.
