In this last episode of Discovering Basilian, I m with Kulas of Becoming Filipino and we finish off in Cotabato City Mindanao Philippines! In this filipino travel vlog, we start the day visiting the Grand Mosque. Unbelievably enough, I had never set foot in a Mosque before this. All my years of travel have taken me to the depths of jungles, the tops of mountains, the bottom of the ocean, but for some reason never into a mosque. After, we visit a crab farm for breakfast. Here we try pastel, and start cracking shells. My reputation precedes me, and they prepare a special surprise for me. A bit more backstory on Basilan, and this series. This small island has had a lot of trouble in the past. Muslim extremist groups have damaged its people and its reputation. As a foreigner in the Philippines, everyone told me to stay away from the south. Mindanao was "dangerous" and "no one should go", is what I was told by both filipinos and foreign travelers. After the Mindanao roadtrip with the Fighterboys, I would have to disagree. Love and generosity is what we experienced, an appreciation from the people that I have rarely felt while travelling the world. We met the governor of ARMM, our local contact (always have a local contact) and spent 4 days here. While I wouldn t recommend travelling here on your first day in the Philippines, This is Day 4 of exploring Basilan Mindanao Philippines. #FearlessandFar #Basilan #Mindanao I post wild stories and travel tips here: https://www.patreon.com/fearlessandfar ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ♥ Friends ♥ Find Kulas here: https://www.youtube.com/user/Jennermann ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ♫ Music ♫ Wave - [ocean jams] (http://www.epidemicsound.com) "Documentary Abstract Ambient Piano" "Abstract Lounge" From audiojungle.net ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ϟ LINKS TO GEAR HERE ϟ Cameras Sony a7s Cameras: http://geni.us/MyCamera Sony RX100 V: http://geni.us/SonyRX1005 GoPro Hero 5: http://geni.us/GPHero5 My Flying Camera: http://geni.us/MavicFlyMore Lenses Sony 16-35mm f/4 : http://geni.us/Sony1635mm Sony 90mm f/2.8 http://geni.us/Sony90mm Sony 55mm f/1.8: http://geni.us/Sony55mm Rokinon 24mm f/1.4: http://geni.us/Rokinon24mm Canon 70-300mm: http://geni.us/CanonZoomLens Phone Fisheye + Macro Lenses: https://pixter.fr/#IN42 Camera Accessories CPOL for Sony 16-35mm: http://geni.us/TiffenCPOL1 Variable ND for Sony 16-35mm: http://geni.us/TiffenVarND RODE Videomic Pro: http://geni.us/RODEMic RODE Dead Cat: http://geni.us/DeadCatVMP My SD Cards: http://geni.us/SanDiskPRO Zhinyu Crane Gimbal: http://geni.us/NewGimbal PEAK Camera Clips: http://geni.us/PDClip PEAK Lens Switching: http://geni.us/PDLensKit PEAK Camera Strap: http://geni.us/PDStrap PEAK Keeping Safe on Rainy Days: http://geni.us/PDRainShell 3 Legged Thing Tripod: http://geni.us/Tripod Get a discount from PEAK DESIGN with my link: https://www.peakdesign.com?acc=721 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ☎ Say Hi Here ☎ ✧ Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/fearlessandfar ✧ Tweetz: http://www.twitter.com/fearlessandfar ✧ Facebook Fanpage: http://www.facebook.com/fearlessandfar ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ✯ Experiences over Possessions ✯

Of course, we couldn t resist trying some Korean Food in Japan during our visit! For those who may not know, we used to live in South Korea where we taught English, so when we learned that Osaka has the largest Korea Town in all of Japan (Tsuruhashi), we had to visit! We rode the subway to Tsuruhashi Station, and we exited into a covered shopping arcade. There were lots of Korean BBQ restaurants, but that s not what we were in the mood for. We wanted our favourites: Pajeon (scallion pancake with seafood), Sundubu Jjigae (spicy soft tofu and vegetable stew), and Dolsot Bibimbap (hot stone pot mixed rice with vegetables). It took lots of walking around, but we eventually found a place serving some traditional Korean dishes. This particular restaurant was run by a couple from Korea, and their cooking was delicious! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * GEAR WE USE Panasonic GH5: http://amzn.to/2yqTUyi Canon G7X ii: http://amzn.to/2yqtM6B Rode Video Micro: http://amzn.to/2wTguTM Joby Gorilla Pod: http://amzn.to/1PgoY5F SanDisk 16GB Extreme Pro: http://amzn.to/25KEErs * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * SOCIAL MEDIA & TRAVEL BLOGS AUDREY: blog: http://thatbackpacker.com/ instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thatbackpacker/ facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thatbackpacker twitter: https://twitter.com/ThatBackpacker SAMUEL: blog: http://nomadicsamuel.com/ facebook: https://www.facebook.com/nomadicsamuel twitter: https://twitter.com/NomadicSamuel instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nomadicsamuel/ * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Eating Korean Food in Osaka, Japan Travel Food Video Transcript: Today we are going to be exploring Tsuruhashi (鶴橋駅) which is Koreantown here in Osaka. But this isn t your average Korea Town. This is the largest one in all of Japan. Yeah. So when we found out there is a Korea Town here we were pretty pumped. The plan is to go over there eat some delicious Korean food and check out the town and see what it is all about. We saw a lot of barbecue restaurants and we saw some street food but we re more in the mood for kind of like a sit down meal. Yeah. Korean pancakes and Korean rice. That kind of thing. Korean soup. Yes, Korean soups. So we found a little place this is like way way from the main strip. First dish has made it. We are having the jeon. It just arrived at the table. It is still sizzling. That looks so good guys. This one has uh so thick. It has octopus and scallions. Spring onions. Scallions. That is the name I m trying to remember the English name. It is seafood haemul pajeon (해물파전)). And I m dipping it in this vinegar based sauce. It also has a bit of chili in there. And it just smells so good. Oh and the side dishes. Let s not forget that. We have the kimchi. Fermented cabbage. Bean sprouts. Yep. I think that is gongnamul. Now my main dish. This is the one I ordered. I got the Sundubu-jjigae (순두부찌개)) which is a tofu stew. You ve got to stir that. Oh this one also has a bit of seafood. That is awesome. Clams. Is that what you call those? It does come with seafood. Some chives. Lots of spice. And look at all of the dobu. The tofu. And a bowl of rice on the side. That can t be missing in a Korean meal. Sam s main is here. My favorite part guys. Time to mix the dolsot bibimbap (돌솥 비빔밥). Before we do that we ve got to put the gochujang which is the red pepper paste. I like it a lot. It is sizzling. And we let the rice sizzle for a long time so it should be burnt to a crisp. Look at that. Oh yeah. Look at that perfection. Burnt to a crisp. Nice and golden. That is the way to do it guys. That is why you get the stone pot as opposed to the regular one. Look at how crispy that is. This has been a wonderful meal. A great find. A hole in the wall place. Love it. Loving it. Just absolutely loving it. And we re getting our we ve been craving Korean food for a while so we re getting our fix. The price point came to 2700 Yen which I think is like $24 to 25 US dollars. And we both ate a lot of food. We basically had three big mains. Lots of side dishes. So now that we ve had our food and we are no longer feeling you know ravenous we ll go around and show you a bit of Korea Town. This is part of our Travel in Japan video series showcasing Japanese food, Japanese culture and Japanese cuisine. A trip to #Mars involves radiation, muscle and bone loss, intermediate axis theorem and liquids. Check out Mars on National Geographic, Monday Nov 12 at 9/8c #sponsored When I got offered the chance to fly in another #zeroG plane, I jumped at the chance. Do you know how hard it is when you are thrust into low-gravity, like the 37% of Earth s gravity of Mars, and you have to remember what you were going to say in a 30 second window as blood floods your head? It s pretty hard. It would be even harder to actually travel to Mars. It would take about 8 months in microgravity during which time your muscles and bones would weaken substantially, even if you exercise for hours a day like the astronauts on the space station. And your heart is a muscle too so it weakens as well. Before I contemplated these rates of muscle and bone loss, I thought the major challenge with a round trip journey to Mars would be the logistics of spacecraft and having enough fuel to get back. But with the weakening of the human body, it s an open question whether anyone would really want to come back. Filmed by Steve Boxall Music from Epidemic Sound: http://epidemicsound.com

Just how small are nanomaterials? And what can we do with stuff that small? Today we’ll discuss some special properties of nanomaterials, how some can change at different sizes, and the difference between engineered nanomaterials and ones that occur naturally. We’ll also talk about some of the future research that’s needed on the use of nanomaterials. It can cause the other person to subconsciously assume that this is a theoretical question - If you ever want someone to feel uncomfortable, look at the middle of their forehead during the conversation. - If someone you re talking to is trying to avoid answering a question, just make a pause in the conversation while still keeping eye contact. - When asking a question that you want an affirmative answer to, try to nod subtly as you make your request. This trick is often used by restaurants employees to make guests buy more food, and it’s pretty effective! - If a person is really concentrated on a task (let s say they re in the middle of a serious phone conversation), you can extend your hand to them and get anything they’re holding at the moment. - If you want somebody to do something for you, casually say how they probably wouldn’t even be able to do it. Most people will try really hard to prove someone wrong when it comes to doubting their capabilities. - Here’s a good one for negotiations. If you like a person s offer in general but would like to get better conditions, pretend to be a little bit disappointed. - As soon as your alarm clock goes off, sit up, make two fists, and yell "Yeah!" as if you’re a soccer player who s just scored a goal. It sounds bizarre, but it really does help you easily get out of bed feeling refreshed. - If a person tries to pull you into an argument or some drama, say something nice to them. The ol’ “kill ‘em with kindness” trick really does stop them in their tracks. - If you have that one lazy person on your team that slows the whole work process down, don t give them tasks by saying "Do this." It’s better to say "Start with this." - If someone is staring at you in the subway (happens all-too often, right?), just look at their shoes. Don t give up, keep gazing! It’ll drive them crazy! - If someone has done something wrong, but you don’t wanna sound too accusing, change the way you construct your sentences. - If you didn t get a good night s sleep, tell yourself that you did. I know, it sounds like nonsense, but it does work 100% if you say it with meaning! - People are better at remembering what happened at the beginning and end of the day. As for anything that went on in between, it gets blurry.
