In this video we try Japanese street food in Tokyo! There are several markets and pedestrian zones to visit in the city, but on this particular day, we decided to go to Togoshi Ginza (戸越銀座商店街) which is the longest shopping street in the city, and also a good place to try street food in Tokyo. Because we decided to visit on a Monday morning, we found that many of the places were not open, but we still managed to find some Japanese food to try, and many of the dishes were completely new to us. Of course, we also had our friend Rob join us on this adventure since we were travelling in Tokyo together. Here is a complete list of the Japanese dishes that we tried during our visit to Togoshi Ginza (戸越銀座商店街): 1) Korokke (コロッケ): this is a Japanese croquette that can be made with a mixture of meat, seafood or vegetables / ¥ 130-370 2) Melonpan with cream and fruit: this is a sweet and fluffy bread cut in half and filled with cream and fruits like mandarins / ¥ 320 3) Oden (おでん): this is a Japanese dish that is very popular during the winter months. It is a broth with a lot of ingredients such as tofu, radishes, egg, fish paste, etc. / ¥ 320 4) Doughnut: we found a place called Floresta that sold cute doughnuts in the form of animals like cats and dogs. ¥ 180-200 5) Melonpan (メロンパン): this is a sweet bread that bears the name melon because of its shape, but it does not have any melon inside. They sell various flavours such as chocolate, cinnamon, and caramel. / ¥ 180 6) Japanese Whiskey: we ordered a Suntory whiskey with soda to finish the day. / ¥ 400 7) Fried Chicken: we also ordered a plate of fried chicken to share, but it was already towards the end of our visit and after a few whiskeys, I can not remember the price - maybe about ¥ 600-700. And that concludes our Japanese street food tour in Togoshi Ginza (戸越銀座商店街), Tokyo. We purposely skipped breakfast so let s go eat Japanese street food. Yes. Oh my goodness so of course we have the bros. Look who is back again for some Japanese street food. Are you hungry my friend? I m really hungry. And I hope we find some good food. I thought this was going to be more like a Pedestrian street. Yeah. Yes. Same here. But it is just kind of a there is a decent amount of traffic I have to say. There is a lot of traffic. I mean no foot traffic but there is a lot of real traffic. Alright let s go in search of Tokyo Street Food. Got the goods. Yeah. So this is our first street food (Korokke - コロッケ) item here in Tokyo, Japan. So I m going to unveil here. Check this out. It is a fish. With its tail. Breaded fried fish (Korokke - コロッケ). Breaded fried fish. I ve got the shrimp over here. A little shrimp-y. It kind of started out slow and we might be on Japanese television. And that last stall was filled with interesting characters and good flavors. So all in all just a fun time. This isn t your ordinary Philippines travel vlog. I continue my trip north of Manila in the Cordillera region of Luzon. Here I meet an Ifugao Igorot family in Sagada, and get invited to try sever tradition dishes, typical for celebrations in this area of the Philippines. Dinuguan, Etag, Pinikpikan, and more. As a foreigner in the Philippines, and a travel vlogger that will eat just about any pinoy street food... This some some of the most shocking filipino food I have come across in the country. This episode of my travel Philippines series takes place after meeting Lakay Wa-Ow, a village elder in Sagada. We arrived at his house to ask permission to visit the hanging coffins of his ancestors who have been places on the cliff faces, long, long ago. He granted us permission, and showed us his collection of smoked pork, called Etag. This putrefying smoked pork is covered in mold and insects, and used in ceremonies in the area. The next day I arrived at my guides house where I watched him prepare other traditional foods like Pinikpikan. This is a controversial chicken dish where the chicken is beaten before being killed. Its said the noises it makes attracts the spirits to notice the ceremony, and also brings more tenderness to the meat.
