The coolest part about it is what you see just beyond the shore: square waves. This strange wave pattern looks like a giant chess board over the ocean. - When two different swells coming from opposite directions meet, it’s known as a cross sea. This is what generates these square waves you see near the Isle of Rhe. - Because these two seas have totally different weather conditions, a unique pattern emerges when they collide. They create a riptide that’s stronger than your average wave - way stronger than what you’ve probably experienced at the beach with regular waves. - There have been a handful of cases where people got caught in the cross sea, but, thankfully and luckily, they managed to get out safely. - These square waves have become somewhat famous over time given that there’s really no other place in the world that boasts a cross sea like this one. - The Boiling Lake on the Island of Dominica is one body of water you’ll definitely want to stay away from. From high heat to strong gas emissions, there are plenty of reasons to stay out of The Boiling Lake. - You’ll probably want to steer clear of the town of West End on Grand Bahama Island. This deadly beach is known for being one of the most shark-infested beaches in the world. - While the south and west coasts of Barbados are ideal for swimming and snorkeling, the east and north beaches have incredibly strong tides that can be quite treacherous. - Condado Beach in Puerto Rico is a desirable destination in the city of San Juan. However, the beach’s mighty waves and powerful current make this a very dangerous place to go swimming. The Venezuela crisis is is breaking news today in 2019. With Nicolas Maduro getting almost as attention as Donald Trump, and Juan Guaido being recognized as the new president, people are speaking of protests, upheavals, and even an upcoming coup. Our hearts go out the the Venezuelan people. Myself and my travel companion Lexie Alford visited this beautiful place late 2018, with the mission to show another side of a country in crisis. We planned to show the beauty of the people, and the natural beauty of the country. This is not a video about the current econimical or political situation. This is a Venezuela travel vlog of what we experienced as tourists. We begin our adventure from flying from Miami to Caracas. Arrival at the airport was not filmed, we wanted to keep to ourselves until we could understand the real risks involved. He has expected everything to be much better than the news portrayed, and it seemed true. The next morning we take a small prop plane from Caracas to Canaima National Park, home of Angel Falls. Upon arriving we saw nobody, it was deserted except for a few staff who directed us to the hotel. That afternoon we booked a tour to a waterfall known as Salto Sapo, known as Frog Falls, and fell in love immedialtely. Ask This Old House general contractor Tom Silva explains why and how to change the locks in a new home. When you move into a new home, you should change the locks on your house. You have no idea how many copies of the house keys are floating out there from the previous homeowners, so changing the locks will keep you new house more secure. 2. Take an inventory of all the doors with locks in the house. 3. Purchase new door knob lock sets at a home center. Look for knobs that are labeled “keyed alike” or have a matching code so that you can use the same key on all the doors. Most home centers can also rekey the lock sets when you buy them. 4. To change the locks, unscrew the door knob from the inside and pull the knobs apart. 5. Insert the new knobs into the door opening. 6. Screw the new knobs into the door. Resources: Tom recommends changing the locks whenever a new home is purchased. It s done differently depending on what type of flow you have. A pipe is calculated different than an airplane wing etc. Some fluid dynamicists would tell you that it s an exact science. I personally feel that it s a bit subjective. The most difficult parameter to nail down in my humble opinion is the characteristic length. It s pretty easy for pipes, you just measure the diameter... but wings, plates, vortices...get complicated quickly. You ll notice in the video I refrained from saying anything like "Flow is laminar when Reynolds number is less than XXX" or "Flow is turbulent when Reynolds number is more than XXX". There are different schools of thought on this. Typically the transition between laminar flow and turbulent flow occurs somewhere between 2100 and 4000 (Reynolds number is unitless).
