Come join us for our New Brunswick Travel Guide as we visit this beautiful province in maritimes of Canada visiting Fredericton, Saint Andrews, Fundy National Park and the Hopewell Rocks. We kick things off in Fredericton, where my parents live, playing tourist by visiting the historic downtown centre, city hall, pedway, lighthouse, Odell park and legislative building as well as walking along Waterloo Row to see some historic mansions and the Fredericton Railway Bridge (pedestrian walking bridge) to grab lunch and beers at Picaroons Roundhouse. From Fredericton we continued our road trip by heading south to visit Saint Andrews. Beautifully situated along the coast this is one of the most scenic towns in New Brunswick and great place to go boating and/or whale watching. Although we just visited briefly we really enjoyed our fish and chips and assorted seafood platter lunch and walk along the beach. We continued onward to Fundy National Park where we set up base in a beautiful cabin located in Cape Enrage nearby Alma. From here we did several days worth of exploring Fundy National Park visiting lakes, hiking trails, beaches, rivers and more. Togo especially loved the opportunity to splash around as much as he could. Our final stop visiting New Brunswick was at Hopewell Rocks - the most iconic attraction in the province. Having a chance to visit with beautiful weather and before the crowds descended was the perfect ending to our time in New Brunswick. After two days driving across Ontario and Quebec, we finally arrived at our destination: Fredericton, the capital of New Brunswick. We show you Fredericton highlights, and then we’ll be touring the charming seaside town of St Andrews, hiking in Fundy National Park, and marvelling at the Hopewell Rocks on the Bay of Fundy, which is home to the highest tides in the whole world. We hope you’ll enjoy our tour of the province and now let’s go explore New Brunswick. We took a break after all that food and drink, and later in the afternoon we drove to Odell Park so that Togo could enjoy a walk in the woods. We showed my parents a few of the city landmarks stopping at Town Hall, the lighthouse, and the Legislative Building, and then it was time to hop in the car and start this road trip! Our next destination was St Andrews, about a 2 hour drive away. This is a very picturesque seaside town where you can do whale-watching excursions, boat tours, and enjoy delicious seafood. Because it was such a hot day, we also made time to find a beach so that Togo could splash around. Then, it was time to hop back in the car and drive to our next destination: Cape Enrage where we had rented a cottage for the next 2 nights. It was about a 3 hour drive to get there with a few stops for the dog along the way. We had to cross all of Fundy National Park. The following morning, we got an early start and made our way to Fundy National Park for some hiking. After a few days of driving, Togo was thrilled to be out in the woods leading his pack down the trails. After a little snack on the picnic tables, we got back in the car and drove towards Herring Cove to give Togo a chance to play in the water. Alma is a small town located just outside the park, so they picked up some fish and chips with coastal views. That afternoon, we continued exploring the rest of Fundy National Park and visited two different lakes. The fog was starting to roll in as we drove back to the cottage that afternoon, and shortly after, it started to rain. We were lucky enough to have a special visitor: this deer! We made a mistake. In this Pakistan Travel Vlog, we arrive in a beautiful little town in Skardu. After seeing so many smiling faces, I decided to have a little fun. There was a small place making naan bread, we took one to make a mask to make the locals laugh. This had the opposite effect. They all seemed quite offended that I had used bread this way. I learned later bread was sacred. I had taken my love of capturing people s smiles a little too far. We continue on and have some of the most beautiful encounters with locals I have ever had. You can tell by all the portrait shots. It was one of the friendliest places I have ever been. After visiting Fairy Meadows, Hunza Valley, Nanga Parbat, the Karakoram Highway, and all out other adventures, this was a nice way to continue of Pakistan Travel Vlog series Pakistan tourism is on the rise. It s often called a dangerous place to travel. Our purpose was to spend our time, as foreigners in Pakistan to disprove this, and show the beauty of the people and the landscape to the world. Mosquitos can ruin a nice picnic in the park, camping out with your friends, even your own humble abode! They’re innumerable, and they come in swarms just about anywhere you go. They are the single worst thing about summer! Why do they have to bite, and why does it itch like crazy? It’s high time we got some answers! Mosquitos are ancient critters thought to have evolved between 50 and 100 million years ago. And they proved to be a highly adaptable species. Except for Antarctica, they live on all continents in a variety of climates. There are about 3,000 different species of mosquitos all around the world. Btw, did you know that not all mosquitos suck blood? Only females drink blood, while male specimen feed solely on nectar. The good news is, you can tell the difference between the two! And if you see one nearby with fancy-looking feathered antennae, don’t rush to smack it just yet – it’s a male and it won’t bite you no matter what. - A mosquito’s lifespan is only about a month or two. Well, that’s for the females. The guys live a lot shorter: around 2 weeks. - You shouldn’t have any standing water near your house if you don’t want a mosquito invasion! - Contrary to popular belief, mosquitos don’t search for their prey looking for lights. To be fair, there aren’t many species that prefer human blood at all. - They have a variety of methods, but they mostly use scent. More specifically, they’re sniffing for your body heat and the one thing every living breathing thing produces constantly: carbon dioxide, or CO2. - Mosquitos can remember the scent of a particularly aggressive prey and avoid it completely for 24 hours. That means, if a mosquito tries to bite you and you decide to brush it off or swat at it, it’ll probably choose someone else to bite next! - They stick not 1 but 6 needles in you! I used a nitrogen membrane and Stirling cryocooler to liquefy nitrogen out of the air. For this video I partnered with Starbucks to celebrate their Nitro Cold Brew. Order one here: https://starbucks.app.link/derekmuller Making liquid nitrogen is hard - in fact up until 150 years ago scientists doubted whether it was even possible to liquefy nitrogen. In 1823, At the royal institution in London, Michael Faraday first produced liquid chlorine, kind of accidentally by putting it under high pressure. He similarly liquefied ammonia. Borrowing a mixture from Thilorier in France, a combination of dry ice, snow and ether, he reached a temperature of -110C. By 1845 he used this mixture plus a hand pump to pressurize gases to liquefy all the known gases except six, which included oxygen and nitrogen. These became known as the “permanent” gases. A French Physicist Aimé compressed oxygen and nitrogen in tanks and then lowered them into the ocean over 1.6km deep, where the pressure got up to 200 atmospheres. Still the gases didn’t liquefy. Only at the end of 1877 were the first droplets of liquid oxygen and liquid nitrogen produced, by Cailletet in France. He first tried oxygen by compressing it up to 300 atmospheres, cooled to -30C, but that wasn t even enough to liquefy oxygen. But when he suddenly released the pressure, the expanding gas cooled, he estimated to -200C and he saw a mist and then droplets slide down the walls of his vessel. It s amazing how far we ve come in that now I can purchase a helium-based cryocooler. It compresses and expands the gas to absorb heat from the tip of the cold finger and eject it into the surroundings at ambient temperature.

In the summer of 2014, Viktor Kazachenko was riding his motorcycle across the steppe of Northern Kazakhstan. He was headed to a nearby town to run some errands, but he never arrived. Kazachenko was hit by a mysterious illness that made him black-out and fall asleep while riding. He woke up 4 days later in the hospital, with no memory of what happened. And, he wasn’t the only one. The village of Kalachi, in Kazakhstan, has been struck by a true medical enigma that’s causing people to fall asleep for days at a time. Interestingly, when they come out of it, they have no recollection of what happened. Forty-six-year-old Taisiya, from Kalachi, experienced this sleepy hollow 3 times in just a few years. Both adults and children had been through sleepy spells that lasted days. - It all starts with light-headedness; and then you feel like your legs are too heavy to walk. When you get struck, you fall sleep within minutes, and might be hallucinating about random things until you’re out of it. - Since the illness occurs so suddenly, the patient’s speech also becomes slurred, making it difficult to understand what they’re saying. - According to a report, this disease also affected an animal as well. It was a cat named Marquis. - More than 55 families moved out of the village, and approximately 100 more are in the process of doing so. - At first, everyone thought that this was some sort of intolerance to a specific drink. However, this theory was later disproven when kids started being affected. - Doctors and scientists alike were determined get to the bottom of this, so they started doing lab tests as well. They even checked for high radiation levels and radon gas, as well as for heavy metals, bacteria and viruses in the water supply of the area. - Coincidentally, scientists began suspecting an abandoned uranium mine 2 miles away from the village of Kalachi. - When scientists studied the levels of radiation and uranium levels in Kalachi, they found them to be normal. - The story of the sleepy hollow was becoming stranger and stranger, prompting curiosity from all around the world. That was when Viktor Kryukov – (the former director of the uranium mine) came out with some interesting statements. - According to Viktor, the gas is seeping through the ground, causing people to fall asleep. - If a person is unlucky enough to be passing by and inhale the air, then the carbon monoxide enters their bloodstream and they lose consciousness. - After that statement, scientists started researching Kryukov’s theory and he was proven right.
