It’s a small additional engine located in the tail of the airplane that kickstarts the electrical systems and bleeds air for the engines and air conditioning inside the cabin. - You’ve surely noticed how much louder the airplane becomes when it’s landing. You might think it’s the engines, but in reality that’s the reverse thrusters being deployed. - On average, flights are becoming slower and slower with each decade. Today, for example, a flight from New York to Chicago would take about 20 minutes longer than it did in the mid-90s. In today’s video, we’re going to be taking you on a food tour of what to eat in Argentina. El Bolson is a charming mountain town in Patagonia, Argentina. This place is a nature lover’s playground with crystalline rivers, hidden waterfalls, and forest trails to explore. When we weren’t hiking, we were getting to know the town’s many restaurants, breweries and ice cream shops, so today we’re going to introduce you to some of the dishes we enjoyed like suprema de pollo, parrilla, fried empanadas, egg-topped pizza, cakes, pies, raspberry beer, and even Sam’s beloved dulce de leche ice cream! Now let’s kick off this foodie tour around El Bolson! Restaurants we visited in El Bolson: - Patio Venzano: fried empanadas, parrilla, flan with dulce de leche. - Confitería Reina: Patagonian pizza with fried eggs and pancetta, coconut tart, chocolate sponge cake with forest berries jam and cream. - Bodega Jovita: suprema (breaded and fried chicken breast) with tomato sauce, mozzarella, bacon and fried eggs. - Helados Jauja: ice cream trio featuring dulce de leche with merengue, Andean chocolate with walnuts, and wild berries in cream. - Patio Cervecero: raspberry beer and loaded fries with cheddar cheese, bacon, and chives. We are Samuel and Audrey, a travel vlogging couple from Canada. In this travel channel we share our travel and food vlogs while touring the world. We had the privilege of traveling around Argentina for nearly 3 months from January- April 2019 on a trip covering a large section of the country. We kicked things off with several days in Buenos Aires where we were joined by Audrey s parents eating and sightseeing around some of our favourite neighbourhoods in the city. We then flew from Buenos Aires to Cordoba where we spent a couple of weeks in the Sierras of Cordoba visiting both La Cumbrecita and Villa General Belgrano with highlights including hiking and delicious German and Swiss cuisine. From Cordoba, we then travelled a considerable distance on an overnight bus to Mar Del Plata just in time for a special food festival called Feria Masticar featuring the best of Argentine food and wine. We spent several days enjoying beaches and seafood before heading south to Patagonia to visit the province of Chubut. While on the Atlantic side of Chubut we visited Puerto Madryn, Peninsula Valdes, Trelew, Gaiman and Dolavon. Our time in Patagonia continued as we headed from east to west trading more barren landscapes for thick forests, impressive mountains and magnificent lakes. We spent significant time in both Esquel and El Bolson with day trips to visit Trevelin, Parque Nacional Los Alerces, Cholila and Lago Puelo. Highlights included sailing, hiking, riding vintage trains and partaking in the national asado festival. To finish off our trip in Argentina, we spent more time in the capital and later Mendoza where we got to experience wine tourism to its fullest extent. Overall, we had an amazing time travelling around Argentina having only scratched the surface of this vast and diverse country. This weeks episode takes us to the wild woods of Wales, where a remarkable woman has chosen to live close to nature in a £1000 tiny earthen home, with no running water, electricity, or internet. To many of us, this may seem like an extreme lifestyle choice, but for Emma, this way of life is all about building a closer relationship to nature while also creating a lifestyle where she is free of the pressures of the modern world. Her simple home is beautiful, cosy and warm. Water is collected from a spring fed stream which runs by her house, and at night, candles and a fire light her home. Emma’s story is a wonderful reminder of just how little we actually need in life, and perhaps also a reminder of how much of ourselves that we need to sacrifice in order to obtain the things we do have.
