Hey, why’s the plane shaking?! Relax, it’s just an air pocket! You’re lucky — there’s a pilot next to you, flying as a passenger. They know much more about flights than you do, so a bit of turbulence won’t make them move a muscle. But if they start worrying about ice on the windows or sniffing the air for some reason, well, that’s when you should pay attention! The thing is that no doors can prevent odors from traveling around. Some smells, such as superheated bleed air, fuel, or hydraulic fluid, are easily recognizable for a professional. And pilots know all too well that such scents can hint that there are some problems with the fuel-storage systems or the engine. They know that any difference in this angle means that the aircraft has suddenly changed direction. - When a pilot is flying a plane, they can understand that everything s going as it should just by listening to the sounds the plane s making. A bizarre, unfamiliar sound is an obvious sign that something s gone wrong. - When a plane is about to descend below 10,000 ft, the cockpit crew levels the plane. The pilot in a passenger seat can t but imagine this procedure and go through the checklist as well. - Most frequent flyers don t pay attention to the safety information presented by flight attendants, including the location of emergency exits. Pilots fly way more than any regular traveler, but they always check where those exits are. - Some passengers get paralyzed with fear at the first signs of turbulence, but pilots don t care about some bumpy road: turbulence is unlikely to cause an accident. - When a pilot hears the cockpit crew announcing, "We re now flying through an air pocket," they immediately realize that the plane is about to be jostled up and down due to some turbulence. - Pilots are well aware of how important the passengers combined weight and their distribution are for the plane s balance. - The sounds you hear in the cabin during the flight have their own meaning. Flight attendants know each "ding s" interpretation by heart. - Flight attendants know that you should be particularly careful with headrests, seat pockets, tray tables, and seat belts! Experiments showed that one-third of all seat belts had yeast and mold on them. - Unlike the average passenger, flight attendants always know where the nearest bathroom is. Today we take you on a dreamy log cabin tour in El Bolsón, Argentina! If you re looking for a great place to stay in El Bolson we can highly recommend our friend Valentin s cabin: 🏡 http://airbnb.pvxt.net/3Wa3X 🏡 We didn t know him before arriving in town, but we left El Bolson as good friends - he was the best AirBnB host we ve ever had! To be honest, El Bolson is one of our favourite towns in all of Patagonia and all of Argentina. It was hard to leave after such a fun time visiting. After giving you a thorough tour of our Patagonian cabin it was time to hop on a bus bound for Villa La Angostura. Our bus ride was as scenic as they come as we meandered through mountain ranges, lakes and other scenic passes. We re very excited to be continuing our adventures in Patagonia and we hope you stayed tuned as we have some great episodes coming out. * * * * * * * * * * * * GEAR WE USE Panasonic GH5: http://amzn.to/2yqTUyi Canon G7X ii: http://amzn.to/2yqtM6B Rode Video Micro: http://amzn.to/2wTguTM Joby Gorilla Pod: http://amzn.to/1PgoY5F SanDisk 16GB Extreme Pro: http://amzn.to/25KEErs * * * * * * * * * * * * SOCIAL MEDIA & TRAVEL BLOGS AUDREY: blog: http://thatbackpacker.com/ instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thatbackpacker/ facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thatbackpacker twitter: https://twitter.com/ThatBackpacker SAMUEL: blog: http://nomadicsamuel.com/ facebook: https://www.facebook.com/nomadicsamuel twitter: https://twitter.com/NomadicSamuel instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nomadicsamuel/ * * * * * * * * * * * * Dreamy LOG CABIN TOUR 🏡 + Scenic Drive out of El Bolsón, Patagonia to Villa La Angostura: Hey guys! We are Samuel and Audrey, a travel vlogging couple from Canada. In this travel channel we share our travel and food vlogs while touring the world. We had the privilege of traveling around Argentina for nearly 3 months from January- April 2019 on a trip covering a large section of the country. We kicked things off with several days in Buenos Aires where we were joined by Audrey s parents eating and sightseeing around some of our favourite neighbourhoods in the city. We then flew from Buenos Aires to Cordoba where we spent a couple of weeks in the Sierras of Cordoba visiting both La Cumbrecita and Villa General Belgrano with highlights including hiking and delicious German and Swiss cuisine. From Cordoba, we then travelled a considerable distance on an overnight bus to Mar Del Plata just in time for a special food festival called Feria Masticar featuring the best of Argentine food and wine. We spent several days enjoying beaches and seafood before heading south to Patagonia to visit the province of Chubut. While on the Atlantic side of Chubut we visited Puerto Madryn, Peninsula Valdes, Trelew, Gaiman and Dolavon. To summarize our time in this area, we had incredibly close encounters with wildlife including penguins, sea lions and guanacos while also experiencing Welsh culture in Argentina. Our time in Patagonia continued as we headed from east to west trading more barren landscapes for thick forests, impressive mountains and magnificent lakes. We spent significant time in both Esquel and El Bolson with day trips to visit Trevelin, Parque Nacional Los Alerces, Cholila and Lago Puelo. Highlights included sailing, hiking, riding vintage trains and partaking in the national asado festival. We finished visiting Patagonia with time spent in Villa La Angostura, San Martin De Los Andes and Bariloche where we enjoyed more stunning scenery and hiking. On our way back to Buenos Aires, we took the Tren Patagonia to Las Grutas before meeting up with Audrey s dad again. To finish off our trip in Argentina, we spent more time in the capital and later Mendoza where we got to experience wine tourism to its fullest extent. Overall, we had an amazing time travelling around Argentina having only scratched the surface of this vast and diverse country. Overall our Argentina travel series explores cities, small towns that are off-the-beaten-path, and scenic attractions with a strong emphasis on Argentina cuisine and local culture. * * * If you re new to our channel or this Argentina series please check out the following playlists to get caught up on all of our videos: All of our Argentina travel + food videos: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-NQ0KYodq5PhZWxGB15SbFqFBaKMts2- *** This is part of our Travel in Argentina video series showcasing Argentine food, Argentine culture and Argentine cuisine. This is a 24h Challenge that pushed me to my limit. While exploring the Philippines with the Fighterboys (A group of Expat YouTubers) I spent the night buried alive on the beach up to my neck. These types of challenges were made popular by MrBeast, but this one had a bit of a deeper meaning, and unfortunately there was no last one wins $10,000 dollar prize. (this time) I wanted to try this crazy idea called voluntary discomfort. By putting yourself through hard times on purpose, so when life comes knocking with a bag of bricks, you re ready. People have coined this the Beach Challenge. It was hard. It was painful. And you ll have to see if I made it through. If you spend only a day at the gas station, you can see just about everything. The “get every last drop in the tank” types, the nozzle tuggers, the nozzle ripper-offers! And possibly even a few near explosions! So today, we decided to spread the most common mistakes people make while fueling up! For example, do you remember that thing about static electricity igniting invisible fuel vapors? Well, get this: when you get out of the car, your clothes sliding against the seat fabric creates some static charge. And when you grab that metallic nozzle, a spark can happen. That tiny spark can light up those gas vapors! Other videos you might like: If You Find an Envelope in Your Car, Throw It Without Opening! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HnFpaMBBukc& 7 Tricks That Can Make Your Car Last Longer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Qsx3Gy1-d0& 16 Driving Hacks from Experienced Drivers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4EmIKePHuc& TIMESTAMPS: Putting gas in any container 0:24 Being distracted 0:55 Not looking at the pump screen 1:30 Topping off your tank 2:15 Using your card at the pump 2:38 Walking away while pumping 3:13 Not checking your tires 3:51 Not touching your car before pumping gas 4:20 Not washing your hands after a fill-up 5:00 Driving in circles 5:39 Not locking the car 6:10 Buying premium gas 6:40 Not knowing how to handle an emergency 7:20 SUMMARY: - You can only pump gas into approved portable containers. You also can t fill them up inside your car or its trunk because static electricity can ignite fuel vapors. Always put the container on the ground. - Don’t assume all pumps are accurate and in perfect working order. Equipment can go bad, and gas station workers might not notice it right away. - Topping off your fuel tank can affect your car’s performance and could possibly damage the engine because of the built-up pressure. - There’s this thing called card skimming – which is when an illegal reader is attached to a payment terminal. Anybody can walk up to the pump and put that thing on there! - If your tires are underinflated, you don’t get as good gas mileage. Then you end up spending more because you have to fill up more often. - To dispel any electric charge on you, just touch a metal part of your vehicle before you reach for the nozzle. - Keep some hand sanitizer with you at all times, and use it as soon as you’re done filling up. Don’t wait until you’ve reached your destination because you’ll already have spread those germs all over your car, phone, and your face! - Look at the dashboard and find the small arrow near the gas gauge. If it’s pointing left, the car’s tank is on the left. - Even if you’re quick about grabbing your snack or paying for your gas, skilled thieves will already have “slid” into your car, grabbed anything valuable, and fled the scene with time to spare! - Get premium only if your car requires high-octane gasoline. - Let s say you place the nozzle inside the tank and suddenly see it’s caught on fire. First, don t remove the nozzle – just back away. Shut off the fuel at the pump using the emergency shut-off switch. We got an inside look at the intense 26-week training program that all future Mounties must endure before officially joining the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Senior video correspondent Graham Flanagan spent five days at the RCMP Academy, Depot Division in Regina, Saskatchewan where he observed different troops at various stages of training. The training is focused on mastering police procedure, but cadets are also put through intense physical challenges, such as entering a gas chamber and enduring a “uniform run” with a dog handler in sub-zero temperatures. Male and female cadets train together at Depot, and even square off against each other in Police Defensive Tactics training. The future Mounties also learn about RCMP customs and traditions dating back to the 19th century, culminating with the Regimental Dinner — a ceremony that, according to the RCMP, media had not been allowed to attend before this film shoot. Editor s note: In the video, we incorrectly identify Yukon and Nunavut as Canadian provinces, when they are in fact classified as territories. We regret the error. It may seem like today, nothing’s easier than doing the laundry: you just toss your well-worn clothing into a washing machine, and in no time, it comes out clean, right? But there are several tips that can make your laundry day much more fun! For example, try to put wet wipes into the washing machine before stuffing your clothes inside. You don t need to comb the town in search of some particular wet wipes - the ordinary kind sold at any supermarket will do! Take several wipes, put them in the washing machine, and load your laundry. It s a pretty cool trick that can make your laundry results much more satisfying. This way, you ll get rid of microbes, dirt, and even limescale! - Coca-Cola can help you to get rid of blood stains. You can soak the soiled piece of clothing in the soda overnight for the best result. - Put a couple of tennis balls into the washing machine whenever you wash your down jackets. The balls will keep the down fluffed up, and they’ll also remove all the foam. - Throw some ice cubes into the dryer, and you ll get rid of wrinkles on your clothes. - Use balls made of aluminum foil to fight static buildup in the dryer. - Your bed linen and clothes will be a lot softer if you put several neutral-colored balls of wool into the dryer. - Corn starch comes in handy when you need to deal with grease stains. Apply it directly on the dirty spot, and leave it there for a couple of minutes. - You can use chalk to remove grease stains as well. Rub a bit of chalk into the dirty spot and wash the item as usual. - To prevent the colors of your new clothes from fading, add half a cup of salt before washing them. - Half a cup of white vinegar will save dark denim from fading. - Both hand sanitizer and hairspray are powerful solvents that can help you to remove ink stains from your clothes! - Rubbing some white vinegar directly into the armpit stains before washing is another effective way to make your clothing spotless again. Learn the history of Viking runes, the ancient Norse language of symbols that make up an alphabet called the futhark. -- With their navigational skills and advanced longships, the Vikings sustained their seafaring for over 300 years. But for all their might, they left few monuments. Instead, fragments of stone, bark and bone found in the sites of ancient settlements provide the keys to their culture. Many of these objects are inscribed with Old Norse written in runic letters. Jesse Byock explores the ancient language. Lesson by Jesse Byock, directed by Lisa LaBracio. Yeah, you love your car and you can t imagine your life without it. It’s your baby! But what have you done to protect it from all the bad guys who might be after it? It turns out even simple little things, like stickers, window etching, or taking the manual out of it can help! But first of all, remember that in many cases, it s not the car the thieves are after. It s that shiny new laptop you dropped at the front seat (because you re only out for a minute, right?). Or maybe your designer purse that looks like it s stuffed full with valuables. Things like that are hard to resist, and often lead to a break-in. It might not prevent the worst from happening, but it will be super helpful at locating your ride if it gets stolen.
