Start by determining the location for the lantern. A few things to consider for placement include how to get access to the space behind the wall, the proximity of the gas line/gas meter, and how close it can be to the entry door. 2. Shut the gas off. 3. Drill a hole in the wall to accept the gas line. 4. Fish the copper gas line down through the hole and into the location where it can be tied into the gas line. 5. Fish the copper line through the lantern bracket and mount it to the wall. Do this before making any gas connections to ensure there is enough slack in the line. 6. Mount the lantern to the bracket and make the gas connections there. 7. Head towards the main gas line and the other end of the copper line. 8. Cut into the gas line and add the appropriate fittings and connections until the line is secure. 9. Turn the gas back on and test for leaks. 10. Purge the line near the lantern by opening it up until a steady stream of gas comes through. 11. To light it, open the gas valve and light a match. The lantern will stay lit as long as the gas line remains open. Resources: Only licensed professionals should work on gas lines. Come join us as we visit the forest that inspired Disney s famous Bambi as we visit the Arrayanes Forest just outside of the town of Villa La Angostura, Patagonia, Argentina. Before getting on the boat we had to pay de admission to Arrayanes National Park. The cost varies depending on wether you’re a foreign visitor, national resident, or provincial resident, but we paid the equivalent of 9 dollars per person. The boat trip was beautiful! Truth is, it was the perfect day to be out on the lake. There was hardly any wind, the waters were calm, and the sun was shining. What else could we ask for? We really enjoyed that this was a small group excursion and that our captain also shared lots of interesting bits of information about the place as we travelled along the peninsula. We disembarked at the Arrayanes Forest and went on a short guided walk with our group. From this point, those who were planning to hike stayed back, and those who were continuing their boat excursion hopped back onboard. The main forest circuit is 800 metres in length, takes 30 minutes to complete, and you’re on a boardwalk the whole time. Lots of excursions stop here, so sometimes it can get a little bit crowded, but it’s always a quick visit, so if you’re in no rush and don’t mind waiting a little bit, you’ll be able to have the whole forest to yourself. As we mentioned, the hiking trail from the Arrayanes forest to the port in Villa La Angostura is 12 kilometres in length and takes about 3 hours to complete. Once you get off the boardwalk and onto the trail, the path is well marked and it’s a pretty straightforward hike. Most of the trail was flat, though we did encounter some steeper stretches towards the very end. Along the way, we saw lots of arrayanes trees. The most unusual thing about these trees is that when you touch their trunks and branches, they feel quite cool - even on a hot summer day. This is because the arrayan has a very thin bark that allows you to feel the sap that flows within. You really need to test it out if you ever encounter one of these trees. The last stretch of the trail was the hardest because we had to climb some pretty steep slopes, plus we were just generally tired from a long day of hiking. That being said, this is also were we encountered some of the most impressive views of the day, and there were numerous lookout point where we could stop to rest and soak in the landscapes all around us. And that was our day trip to the Arrayanes Forest - aka the inspiration behind the movie Bambi. At some point we just stopped filming because well, we were pretty tired and hungry, but hopefully this video gave you a better idea of what this excursion is all about. If you press this button, the armrest will slide down completely parallel to your seat, giving you some extra leg and elbow room! - Most overhead compartments have edges on the bottoms into which a handrail is molded! - There are fire extinguishers on every flight too, which is standard safety…but did you know that most flights also have an axe or crowbar on board? - Air marshals are basically the police of the airplane: they can make arrests, but they won’t intervene in a standard “rowdy passenger” situation. - Since 2015, all U.S.-based commercial airlines require a defibrillator to be on board every flight. - People are so superstitious about the “unlucky” number 13, that some airlines have completely removed this row number from the seats! - If your plane is hit, the lighting will just slide along the surface until it has nowhere else to go. - If you look closely, there are tiny yellow hooks on the wings of your plane. This is where rope and the safety slide can be tied in case of an emergency, so that passengers can get off. - The gas masks are for the flight attendants so that they can see and breathe enough in order to put out the flames and take care of passengers if necessary. - There may be a flight engineer, or second officer, on board, who’ll be making all the important calculations as far as the best landing position and other complicated stuff that has to do with the equipment the pilot is using.
