Come join us as we travel to Bariloche! Our bus ride from San Martin de los Andes to Bariloche is along possibly the most scenic stretch of iconic Route 40 (Ruta 40). It was such a beautiful journey that I almost didn t want to get off the bus; it felt like we were on a sightseeing tour as we passed by lakes, forests and mountains on a gorgeous sunny day. We had the privilege of traveling around Argentina for nearly 3 months from January- April 2019 on a trip covering a large section of the country. We kicked things off with several days in Buenos Aires where we were joined by Audrey s parents eating and sightseeing around some of our favourite neighbourhoods in the city. We then flew from Buenos Aires to Cordoba where we spent a couple of weeks in the Sierras of Cordoba visiting both La Cumbrecita and Villa General Belgrano with highlights including hiking and delicious German and Swiss cuisine. From Cordoba, we then travelled a considerable distance on an overnight bus to Mar Del Plata just in time for a special food festival called Feria Masticar featuring the best of Argentine food and wine. We spent several days enjoying beaches and seafood before heading south to Patagonia to visit the province of Chubut. While on the Atlantic side of Chubut we visited Puerto Madryn, Peninsula Valdes, Trelew, Gaiman and Dolavon. To summarize our time in this area, we had incredibly close encounters with wildlife including penguins, sea lions and guanacos while also experiencing Welsh culture in Argentina. Our time in Patagonia continued as we headed from east to west trading more barren landscapes for thick forests, impressive mountains and magnificent lakes. We spent significant time in both Esquel and El Bolson with day trips to visit Trevelin, Parque Nacional Los Alerces, Cholila and Lago Puelo. Highlights included sailing, hiking, riding vintage trains and partaking in the national asado festival. We finished visiting Patagonia with time spent in Villa La Angostura, San Martin De Los Andes and Bariloche where we enjoyed more stunning scenery and hiking. On our way back to Buenos Aires, we took the Tren Patagonia to Las Grutas before meeting up with Audrey s dad again. To finish off our trip in Argentina, we spent more time in the capital and later Mendoza where we got to experience wine tourism to its fullest extent. Overall, we had an amazing time travelling around Argentina having only scratched the surface of this vast and diverse country. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police, or "Mounties," are known for their iconic uniforms that feature the iconic scarlet tunic referred to as the "Red Serge." Senior video correspondent Graham Flanagan visited the RCMP Academy Depot Division in Regina, Saskatchewan where future Mounties are trained and issued their uniform "kit." While modern Mounties everyday uniforms are more in line with standard police attire, the wool and satin-lined Red Serge is still used for ceremonial events. Each cadet gets fitted for their tunic about halfway through training. We visited the tailor shop where a team of 20 tailors performs the alterations for the approximately 1,000 cadets that graduate from the Academy each year. We also stopped by the leather shop, where leather crafters custom-fit each pair of high-leather Strathcona boots before being issued to the cadets. In today’s Argentinian food tour video we’ll show you that it is possible to take a break from all the steak and pasta, by highlighting some fun yet healthy options like potato soup in shot glasses, a barley bowl with shrimp and grilled veggies, and a salmon and pumpkin wrap. Today we re buying 10,000 Bananas... We ve been travelling in Bangladesh for a week, cooking up one of the most interesting projects yet. While searching for Dhaka street food, we came across Karwan Bazaar, a large market in Dhaka with just about everything, Including a whole lot of Bananas. In Bangladesh over 6 million kids wake up hungry, so we all came together to make a travel vlog with a purpose: raise enough money to buy 10,000 bananas for hungry kids in Bangladesh. To make this happen, I opened a GoFundMe, and reached out to Thrive, a local NGO specializing in delivering food to schools. We raised enough money for 18,800 bananas and this video is about delivering a few thousand of them to schools. So, to address a few things here in the description. In total, we raised about 1,600 USD (including my personal donation to purchase bananas on the shoot day) They are about 3 cents per banana without shipping and delivery. For this video, we factored that in to our final sum. The shelf life of Bananas is only a few days, so we bought about 10,000 on that day, and the rest will be purchased later in the week so nothing gets spoiled. Cool? Cool! Together we did this! We can use the Schrödinger equation to solve for and evolve wave functions. Then we invoke wave-particle duality, in essence things we detect as particles can behave as waves when they aren t interacting with anything. But when there is a measurement, the wave function collapses leaving us with a definite particle detection. If we repeat the experiment many times, we find the statistics of these results mirror the amplitude of the wave function squared. Hence the Born rule came into being, saying the wave function should be interpreted statistically, that our universe at the most fundamental scale is probabilistic rather than deterministic. This did not sit well with scientists like Einstein and Schrödinger who believed there must be more going on, perhaps hidden variables . In the 1950 s Hugh Everett proposed the Many Worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics. It is so logical in hindsight but with a bias towards the classical world, experiments and measurements to guide their thinking, it s understandable why the founders of quantum theory didn t come up with it. Rather than proposing different dynamics for measurement, Everett suggests that measurement is something that happens naturally in the course of quantum particles interacting with each other. The conclusion is inescapable. There is nothing special about measurement, it is just the observer becoming entangled with a wave function in a superposition. Since one observer can experience only their own branch, it appears as if the other possibilities have disappeared but in reality there is no reason why they could not still exist and just fail to interact with the other branches. This is caused by environmental decoherence.
