Here s an inside look at the United States Army s intense 22-week basic training known as OSUT, which stands for One Station Unit Training. Senior Video Correspondent Graham Flanagan spent four days at the Army s Maneuver Center of Excellence located inside the Fort Benning military installation near Columbus, Georgia, where he observed different companies at various stages of training. After a processing period that takes one to two weeks, recruits experience what s known as a "shark attack," when drill sergeants create a high-stress environment through a series of rapid-fire instructions and commands. Once the intensity subsides and training begins, the dynamic between the drill sergeants and the recruits evolves into one found between a teacher and students in a classroom. Despite rainy conditions that rarely let up during filming, we saw various dynamic aspects of training, such as marksmanship, tear gas exposure, and MOUT, which stands for military operations in urban terrain. Today we re taking you on an epic Patagonian train journey from the Andes Mountains to the Atlantic Ocean! The Tren Patagónico or Patagonian Train is one of the best ways to experience the beauty of the Patagonian steppe and we did just that on an overnight journey from Bariloche to Viedma. We learned about the Patagonian train entirely by chance. A few days prior, we had been hanging out at the Bariloche bus terminal, waiting to catch a connecting bus, and because we had a few hours to spare, Sam went for a little walk with his camera in hand. He saw the train station and decided to go snap some photos, and that’s when he learned about this epic train journey that crosses all of Patagonia, from the Andes to the ocean. We just had to do it, and that’s how a few days later, we found ourselves travelling aboard the Tren Patagónico. The Patagonian Train has 3 classes: First, Pullman and Camarote. First is actually the cheapest class, Pullman is the one we travelled in, and Camarote is the one with private cabins. In this video, we’re going to show you the Pullman class aboard this train. The Pullman carriage has reclining seats, a fair bit of legroom, and heat or AC depending on the time of year you’re travelling. During high season, they also have a movie carriage that’s available to passengers in Pullman and Camarote, and it has a disco carriage for those who want to dance the night away as the train chugs across the Patagonian steppe. This Patagonian train travels from the cities of Viedma to Bariloche, and then back again from Bariloche to Viedma on weekends. It usually leaves Viedma on a Friday, and departs Bariloche on a Sunday - but their calendar does have a few exceptions, so it’s best to check your desired on their official website. Our train left at 5:00 pm and we were asked to be there an hour in advance. Leaving Bariloche, the train makes stops in many small communities along the way including Pilcaniyeu, Comallo, Clemente Onelli, Ingeniero Jacobacci, Maquinchao, Los Menucos, Sierra Colorada, Ministro Ramos Mexia, Nahuel Niyeu, Valcheta, San Antonio Oeste, Winter, Palacios, and lastly in Viedma. Shortly after departing the station in Bariloche, a staff member went across the carriage asking each passenger’s final destination - that way they know to stop for you and potentially wake you up if you’re getting off in the middle of the night. I have to say, I loved the scenery on this train journey! We got to witness a magical sunset over the Patagonian steppe paired with ever-changing scenery. We even got to see a bit of wildlife - namely, hares, guanacos, sheep, horses and falcons! The fields were washed in gold with the last rays of day, and it was spectacular. I’ll quickly mention that you also have the option of eating breakfast on the train, but we chose to sleep a bit longer. Breakfast is probably a better idea for those continuing all the way to Viedma, but we got off before that in San Antonio. And that was our train journey aboard the Tren Patagonico travelling from the mountains to the sea! 🇦🇲With my flight out of Armenia cancelled and finding myself with an unexpected extra few hours left in the city of Yerevan I jumped in a taxi and headed to the centre to look at some sights and try some local wine and food...I kind of wish I skipped the food part!

Today we re going to visit Colonia Suiza, a small Swiss colony in the outskirts of Bariloche in Patagonia, Argentina. This small village was founded by three immigrant families from the Canton of Vaud in Switzerland, and the Swiss influence is apparent in the town s architecture and food. If you enjoy quiet towns surrounded by beautiful nature, then Colonia Suiza is a place worth adding to your list! By the time we reached Colonia Suiza, it was already lunchtime, so our first order of business was to find some food! We followed our noses and they led us to this cozy chalet. Here we had Swiss potato pancakes (Rösti), goulash, Malbec wine, and an apple crumble with cream. When we arrived in Colonia Suiza we learned that the best days to visit are actually Wednesdays and Sundays, during high season, when the town prepares a special dish called ‘curanto . We had unknowingly arrived on a Monday, missing the big cookout by one day! Curanto is a dish that’s prepared by digging a hole in the ground, covering the bottom with hot stones, and then adding a mix of seafood, meat, potatoes and vegetables. It’s basically like a giant outdoor pressure cooker and people come from far and wide to try this specific dish. So that’s something to keep in mind if you do decide to visit! With no curanto on the menu, we spent our day walking up and down the main street and visiting some artisanal shops, but since it was a non-fair day, many places in town were closed. Wandering and strolling is how we ended up in front of the Elf Village. Truth is, we had no idea what the Elf Village was all about when we set foot in there, but it turned out to be quite entertaining, especially if you come with a vivid imagination. We were led into the forest by our guide who taught us to identify all sorts of trees and mushrooms, but then, he brought us to meet the creatures of the forest. We met all sorts of beings like the Gridman who are able to become part of nature, Leprechauns who like to guard their pot of gold, and mischievous elves who like to steal trinkets from the home. There were also trolls, witches and forest fairies, living in this very forest. And then we met Edgar, or Eeeedgar, who may very well have a future career on the runway. Work it, Edgar! We then did another loop around town and thought, you know what, we’re hungry, so off went in search of a little something something. We ended up at another restaurant where we ordered artisanal beer, a hamburger and some potato wedges with cheddar. It was the perfect mid-afternoon snack! And that was our day trip to Swiss Colony. This is a very small village that can easily be visited in half a day, though it’s also possible to stay overnight and do some camping or rent one of the few guesthouses. Our visit was short and sweet, but we enjoyed what got to experience in a few hours. For any of you thinking of visiting, don’t forget, if you want to eat the famous curanto, visit on a Wednesday or a Sunday. Or if you want to experience a sleepy town almost all to yourself, then any other day of the week is perfect. We re train surfing the longest train in the world. The Mauritania Railway. The Sahara Freight crosses 700km of desert (430 miles) in West Africa, picking up iron ore from the mining town of Zouerat, and dropping it off at the coastal town of Nouadibou since 1963. This Sahara railway is one of the most extreme in the world. It s been called Africa s Worst Train, and for train surfing, it s the ride of a lifetime. The Mauritania Railway is one of a kind. Just sneaking into the train was an adventure enough. Taking a public bus to Zouerat and trying to negotiate and navigate to the right location. There is no train schedule, just a rough 2 hour window when people expect to see the train. Also, the journey can take anywhere from 16 to 24 hours to complete. Locals ride in the cars as a fast and easy (yeah, believe that) way to cross into the interior of the country from the coast. While where are no clear rules whether it is legal or not, it is tolerated, and has become a common method of transportation across the county. Would you ride this crazy train in Africa? What are the most unusual mobile phones ever? Remember the old days when manufacturers used to try to come up with something new? As a result, phones often used to look weird. Nowadays, tech companies are still trying to sell you the next big thing every other day. Phones, in particular, go through a lot of new ideas, and some proposals don t always end up working out. For example, we all agree that one of the limitations of smartphones is the screen size. Tablets and laptops are bigger but less convenient. Projectors seemed like an obvious solution.
