Covid-19 travel is a touchy subject. It s July 2020 and the pandemic is still a real concern for many around the world. Early this month, the EU has reopened to tourism despite COVID-19 for select nations. This means non-essential travellers can enter Europe, without self quarantine, and without isolation upon arrival. This is big news. As a Canadian, I can take advantage of this opportunity. But the question is, should I? In this video we talk about safetly, flying during the pandemic, and why I m deciding to start travel the world again in 2020. I d love to hear your opinion. Kevin travels to a glass factory in Wisconsin to see how plate glass is manufactured and to Minnesota to see our windows come together. Back at the house, a massive window goes in above the sliding balcony doors. Our project has taken us into the cold New England winter. But there’s still much work to be done including exterior painting. Kevin finds Mauro deciding what to do on a 30-degree day. The driveway runs downhill into the garage. A drain at the bottom handles rain but what about snow? Richard helps Kevin Bilo install a radiant heating system that will make short work of removing snow. The patio installation is an integral part of our project’s drainage system. Kevin finds Jenn and Roger installing permeable pavers. What happens every 5 seconds? While we’re just sitting in front of our computer at home, drinking tea with some cookies, really incredible things are happening on the other side of the world. Or maybe in the nearby city. Or even one mile away from us! Millions of mind-blowing things are happening in this short period. For example, in 5 seconds, 500,000 reactions occur in your body’s cells. 4 weddings take place somewhere in the world every 5 seconds, and one more union is sealed before another second passes. While you will be going from your desk to your fridge and opening it, 47 new websites will be created! Posts of strangers on Facebook will receive 2.3 million likes in the same period of time. New post count on Facebook will reach 205,000. And Instagram will boast 3,200 newly uploaded photos and videos within the same period! Isn t it amazing that so many things happen in the world every 5 seconds? Right now, a bunch of things is going on inside your body. And perhaps the most important of them is the work of your nervous system. Pinch yourself now. The place you’ve just pinched has lots of neurons, just like anywhere else. When you pressed the skin, they flared up and sent the information about pain to the brain, which reacted by sending back a message that it hurt. It all happened in less than a millisecond, but the signal traveled several feet there and back! So, have you ever wondered how the nervous system works? And why is it so important? How about to look inside you and figure out what it’s doing and how? Well, the most important nerves are going through your spine and brain. This thick cluster of nerves is called the central nervous system, or CNS. It’s responsible for everything you do. Can you imagine that? Absolutely everything! #brightside Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ Subscribe to Bright Side : https://goo.gl/rQTJZz ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Social Media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/brightside/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/brightgram/ 5-Minute Crafts Youtube: https://www.goo.gl/8JVmuC Stock materials (photos, footages and other): https://www.depositphotos.com https://www.shutterstock.com https://www.eastnews.ru ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For more videos and articles visit: http://www.brightside.me/

Dig into the mystery of Nicolas Bourbaki— one of the most influential mathematicians of all time… who never actually existed. -- When Nicolas Bourbaki applied to the American Mathematical Society in the 1950s, he was already one of the most influential mathematicians of his time. He’d published articles in international journals and his textbooks were required reading. Yet his application was firmly rejected for one simple reason: Nicolas Bourbaki did not exist. We all know the story of RMS Titanic. But do you know stories of objects that survived the voyage? Here s one of them. In July 2019, a very special item was sold at an auction in Rhode Island. Special, in that it was used over a hundred years ago to save a group of Titanic passengers! But what could it be? One of the lifeboats? A piece of the rescue ship? No, it was a mere cane. A black walking stick with an amber-colored tip and built-in light. How exactly did a cane help save lives? In the spring of 1912, 55-year-old Ella White was traveling around Europe. Different things can happen while you’re out on an adventure, things like injuring your foot. At least, this is what happened to White at some point during her travels abroad. She decided to get a fancy model with a battery-illuminated crown, a decision that would save her life later... #brightside Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ Subscribe to Bright Side : https://goo.gl/rQTJZz ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Social Media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/brightside/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/brightgram/ 5-Minute Crafts Youtube: https://www.goo.gl/8JVmuC Stock materials (photos, footages and other): https://www.depositphotos.com https://www.shutterstock.com https://www.eastnews.ru ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For more videos and articles visit: http://www.brightside.me/

What can you find with a metal detector? Coins, jewelry, ancient coins artifacts... Finding some money on the ground a hundred years ago, you could think yourself lucky. If you pick up something valuable today, though, it most likely means trouble. Picking one up and setting it into your phone you might find a huge debt on yourself. If you find a diamond ring or gold bracelet, somebody may appear on the street and accuse you of stealing their jewelry. The same applies to wallets, money, and credit cards. Or check your surroundings before picking up such items. If you feel somebody’s watching or following you, leave it be. What about electronic devices? Well, if you see a radio transmitter, mobile phone, or tablet lying on the road, never touch it: it might be unsafe and put there on purpose so that you — or any curious person —picks it up. So, here’s a list of things you should never pick up. #brightside EPISODES: SIM cards 00:00 Headphones 0:35 Electronic devices 0:52 Jewelry stuff 1:17 Ancient coins and artifacts 1:51 Wallets, money and credit cards 2:57 Pins and syringes 3:43 Hedgehogs, birds, beautiful caterpillars 4:09 Bags, books, and containers 4:45 Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ Subscribe to Bright Side : https://goo.gl/rQTJZz ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Social Media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/brightside/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/brightgram/ 5-Minute Crafts Youtube: https://www.goo.gl/8JVmuC Stock materials (photos, footages and other): https://www.depositphotos.com https://www.shutterstock.com https://www.eastnews.ru ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For more videos and articles visit: http://www.brightside.me/

Join us for another video from our food adventures across India, and today, we’re going to be trying some Bangalore street food at VV Puram Food Street. This particular night market in Begaluru, India features amazing Indian street food for locals and visitors alike. Some of the street food we tried at the night market include thatte idli, pani puri, sugar cane juice, fire pann, gobi Manchurian, potato twisters, nitrogen wafers, chilli corn and obbattu. In this episode David (https://www.youtube.com/user/Davidsbeenhere) and I we met up with Abhishek (https://www.instagram.com/shekzilla/) who joined us as we went in search of late night eats. This was such a great place to dive into the street food scene! VV Puram Food Street is lined with food vendors creating an open-air market where you can sample a mix of sweet, savoury, spicy and fiery dishes. Over the course of the evening we tried: - thatte idli with coconut and tomato chutney - floating pani puri, which was a delicious explosion of flavours - sugar cane juice infused with ginger - fire pann, which is lit on fire before being shoved into your mouth - gobi Manchurian, and Indo-Chinese cauliflower dish - potato twisters coated in spices - nitrogen wafers that made us look like fire breathing dragons - chilli corn that kept getting spicier with each bite - and obbattu, a fluffy pancake drizzled with ghee and cane sugar. Now let’s kick off this tasty Bangalore street food tour! BANGALORE STREET FOOD at VV Puram Food Street [Amazing INDIAN STREET FOOD in Bengaluru, India] As usual, we first scouted out the market to get an idea of the food options and decide what we wanted to eat. It was still pretty early in the night, but the street was buzzing and queues forming around each food stall. Even though we had been feasting on South Indian food all day, I was feeling hungry and ready for more! We decided on thatte idli for our first dish of the night. Next up, it was time for floating pani puri - one the most popular dishes available at this street food market. Pani puri literally means ‘water bread’ and it’s a hollow, ball-shaped, crispy dough that is filled with flavored water, and a mix of tamarind chutney, chili, chaat masala, onions, coriander and chickpeas. The reason this particular dish has ‘floating’ in its name is because the puris (bread) are floating on a base of pani (water). Not only is this dish colourful and visually appealing, but it’s also an explosion of flavours and textures that wake up the tastebuds. It’s spicy, tangy, sweet, and a snack that you can’t get enough of. One thing that really stood out to me at VV Puram Food Street, is that everyone was so friendly! We’d be standing in line to order food, and people would be offering to give us a taste of their dishes. We ended up chatting with different groups of families and friends, and that made our visit all the more memorable. The potato twister, or tornado potato, was another fun street food snack to try at the market. This is a deep fried, spiral-cut potato on a skewer, coated in various seasonings and spices. This one in particular brought back memories of the street food in Korea. And then, we somehow all ended up sharing nitrogen wafers with some really friendly people at the market. Lastly, it was time to end the night with a little something sweet. Fluffy pancakes were a great idea! * * * * * * * * * * * * GEAR WE USE Panasonic GH5: http://amzn.to/2yqTUyi Canon G7X ii: http://amzn.to/2yqtM6B Rode Video Micro: http://amzn.to/2wTguTM Joby Gorilla Pod: http://amzn.to/1PgoY5F SanDisk 16GB Extreme Pro: http://amzn.to/25KEErs * * * * * * * * * * * * SOCIAL MEDIA & TRAVEL BLOGS AUDREY: blog: http://thatbackpacker.com/ instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thatbackpacker/ facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thatbackpacker twitter: https://twitter.com/ThatBackpacker SAMUEL: blog: http://nomadicsamuel.com/ facebook: https://www.facebook.com/nomadicsamuel twitter: https://twitter.com/NomadicSamuel instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nomadicsamuel/ * * * * * * * * * * * * Music We Use: http://bit.ly/SamAudreyMusic
