It s time for another nature escape and this weekend, we are doing a bit of glamping in New Brunswick! This summer we ve been going in search of fun and easy getaways from Fredericton, and one of the places we came across is this cute tiny house on the Saint John River (🏡 https://bit.ly/3axLhX5 🏡) complete with a hammock, BBQ, an outdoor terrace and access to the water. This tiny house is located in Upper Kingsclear, just a short drive from King s Landing, so we tacked that on as an afternoon activity (and no, this has nothing to do with Game of Thrones!) King’s Landing is a living open-air museum where you can walk through a village and experience what life was like in rural New Brunswick back in the 1800s. How it works is that you get a map at the entrance with the layout of the village, and then you have the freedom to explore at your own pace, going in and out of the different buildings and meeting the various characters going on about their day. GLAMPING in CANADA (TINY HOUSE in New Brunswick by the River!) + Visiting KING S LANDING 👑 The best part really is chatting with the villagers because they are interpreting real stories from the past, and they will not break character! Over the course of our visit we met the local choir practising ahead of the church service, we learned some of the town gossip while visiting the blacksmith in his workshop, and we attempted being lumberjacks to saw a tree. Installer Rick Pezza shows Richard Trethewey the steps, starting with a filtered pump that draws liquid in short cycles from the second tank to a treatment pod. In this pod, the dirty liquid drips down over hanging filter sheets filled with microorganisms that convert the ammonia into nitrogen. Through this biologic process, nitrogen gas gets released into the atmosphere, oxygenated water returns to the main tank, and the remaining treated liquid goes down through the sand filtered field.
