SUBSCRIBE to This Old House: http://bit.ly/SubscribeThisOldHouse. Kevin finds Tommy and finish carpenter Matt Forde trimming the rough columns to give them a better look. Homeowner Liz has always wanted to design a stained glass window for her new home. She takes a course with a local instructor and carefully assembles a window for the mudroom that she has designed herself. There are plenty of options when choosing material for flooring. We got an inside look at how United States Marine Corps recruits train on a challenging "confidence course" during boot camp. Senior video correspondent Graham Flanagan spent five days in 2019 at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in Parris Island, South Carolina, where he observed recruits at various stages of boot camp. This aspect of training inside Leatherneck Square involves intimidating obstacles like the "Stairway to Heaven," "Tough One," and "Slide for Life" to physically and mentally test the recruits. Their first taste of the course is on the 12th day of boot camp, and they get a second chance during week nine or 10. How can trees help in the fight against climate change? Dig into the efforts to rebuild damaged ecosystems and reduce carbon emissions. -- Today humanity produces more than 1,400 tons of carbon every minute. To combat climate change, we need to reduce fossil fuel emissions, and draw down excess CO2 to restore the balance of greenhouse gases. Like all plants, trees consume atmospheric carbon through photosynthesis. So what can trees do to help in this fight? Jean-François Bastin digs into the efforts to restore depleted ecosystems. Oddly satisfying crafts and ideas that will help you relax. One of the most relaxing things in the world is scrolling through social media and watching oddly satisfying videos. The problem is that those clips only last for a few seconds. So, to help you activate your ZEN mode, I show you a large compilation of relaxing hacks you can try at home. Let’s start with Jell-O balls. Place one in an egg slicer and see it being cut into even slices. My favorite one is the small hot metal ball that slowly digs through a marshmallow. But, you must be careful when handling heat tools. If you’re looking for ways to surprise your friends, I also show you a few magic tricks to try. Another great way to relax is by pouring honey over your skimmer or slicing your soap bar with a vegetable peeler. Language is an important part of our identities, and the ways we feel about how others use language is influenced by society. The study of the social element of language, and how it forms part of our identity is sociolinguistics. In this episode of Crash Course Linguistics, we’ll learn about linguistic differences between and within languages based on factors such as location, education, class, race, ethnicity, gender, and sexuality, and how our perceptions of these differences affect our society. Want even more linguistics? Riley is 19 years old. An hour ago she walked out of her house in a very good mood. She went for a walk, and in a couple of hours she was to meet her friends. While standing in line for an ice cream, she noticed that some man was staring at her from around the corner. He was wearing black shaggy pants, a black hoodie and sunglasses. Even though it’s hard to recognize a person dressed like that, she was pretty sure she’d never seen him before, and he looked… suspicious. What to do if you re being followed? Normally, getting followers is a good thing, but only if they stay within social media’s reach. So if you feel like someone’s getting on your tail, it’s always good to know how to safely manage the situation. We gathered a few useful tips to help you avoid bad consequences if you’re being followed or watched. If you ever find yourself in a similar situation, remember rule number one: trust your gut. If you’re feeling uncomfortable, don’t take any risks. #brightside TIMESTAMPS: Speak to someone 0:01 Go toward crowded places 1:50 Don’t go straight to your home 2:12 Make several irrational turns 2:40 Hold your keys at the ready 3:08 Make a noise 3:35 When only one trick is left 4:04 Turn around and look at the pursuer 6:56 Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ Subscribe to Bright Side : https://goo.gl/rQTJZz ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Social Media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/brightside/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/brightgram/ 5-Minute Crafts Youtube: https://www.goo.gl/8JVmuC Stock materials (photos, footages and other): https://www.depositphotos.com https://www.shutterstock.com https://www.eastnews.ru ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For more videos and articles visit: http://www.brightside.me/
“I awoke in a cold sweat. I had that dream again. The one with the van, the unrelenting dog. A twisted fiend, unholy in nature. He spoke to me, albeit muffled through the dense shrieks of his crew. I should have guessed their motive well before I entered that decrepit town of Coolsville. The easiest way to solve a mystery is to incite it’s creation” - Scooby Doo, 2002 twitter: https://twitter.com/KnowledgeHubTy Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/user-503704039 Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/theknowledgehub Second Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-KL04Ra6E1Du0pFawN4pWg Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/3STpelEilrthF8UxsQTaaw?si=52TH_ZKTQhaKhfnK1Jomfg My rss website: www.borfed.com Additional Clip Sources: sboss
