Incredible Christmas ideas and hacks for the Holidays Are you guys ready for Christmas? Even though Christmas will be different this year, it doesn’t mean we can’t have fun. To inspire you and give you some ideas for the holidays, we show you some fantastic tips and tricks you’ll adore. Christmas decorations are a must, no matter what’s going on in the world. And today, we show you some simple solutions to life’s problems. Have you ever struggled to place ornaments through your Christmas tree branches? One simple way to do it is using a cylinder-shaped piece of card paper or an empty toilet tissue roll. Little ones always look forward to meeting Santa. To make it more believable for them, I show you a nifty trick to make them think that Santa brought in all the snow from outside, walked around the house, eat the cookies and milk, and left the presents for the kids. The only thing you’ll need is a large shoe, some water, and flour. Instead of buying new Christmas Decorations for your home, save money, and make your own. For example, you can create an adorable little snowman using a white sock, rice, and some knitting yarn. Don’t forget to check out the entire video with our fabulous Christmas tricks and other fun projects to get you into the Holiday spirit. Timestamps: 0:40 – Trying to put ornaments to your tree? Babies have to learn a lot of language stuff before they can even say their first word. Exposure to language as infants doesn’t just help us say those first words but gives us the tools we need to acquire advanced language skills and learn more languages later on in life. In this episode of Crash Course Linguistics, we’ll learn about language acquisition and how the process differs for babies and adults. Want even more linguistics? Countries around the world have begun to approve the most anticipated vaccine of the 21st century — but getting it to 8 billion people is going to be a massive undertaking with many logistical challenges. The different vaccines need to be kept at various cold temperatures, transported to isolated and hard-to-reach areas, and fit onto different-sized planes. And all of that has to happen as the 2020 holiday season begins. The cargo industry has already been overwhelmed this year by many people shopping from home, leading to shipping surges and late packages. There will likely be a fight for space between vaccines, Amazon packages, furniture, cars, and other cargo. Lufthansa Cargo recently upgraded its Chicago O Hare facility to be able to handle a large amount of pharmaceutical shipments. We went inside to see how the team is getting ready to ship up to 10 million vaccine doses a day. Correction: Vaccines requiring extremely cold storage could be transported with nitrogen cryogenic liquid, not nitroglycerin, as stated in the video. Insider regrets the error. But today, we ll tell you about critters that make Japan a bit terrifying place. Whether you’re living in Japan or just visiting, here are insects commonly found in Japan and how to react to them. Some of them are completely harmless, some of these Japanese bugs are poisonous. Imagine a sports car in insect form. It can run at over a foot per second when chasing its prey. But don’t be scared, you and your beloved pets are completely safe. House Centipede teeth are too small to bite humans or household pets. But this centipede has a big, scary brother - the Japanese giant centipede. This monster grows up to 1 foot long and it doesn’t only hunt small insects. This thing hunts scorpions, spiders, lizards…even mice and rats. The ruptures are often quite small, and to outside observers perhaps imperceptible: one person fails to respond warmly to another’s greeting; someone tries to explain an idea to their partner who shrugs and says off-handedly that they have no idea what they’re on about; in front of friends, a lover shares an anecdote which casts the partner in a less than flattering light. Or the rupture can be more serious: someone calls someone a stupid fool and breaks a door. A birthday is forgotten. Watch more videos in our new App: https://bit.ly/3g9KM8j We all have heard of the lost civilization of Atlantis sinking into the waters off the coast of Ancient Greece. The story is supposed to be a myth, but have scientists finally found the lost city? Not sure about that, but they did find a lost continent! How careless do you have to be to misplace an entire continent? We’ll have to ask our planet about that one. Earth lost what was called Greater Adria between 100 and 120 million years ago. So, how did that happen, and where did it go? The only way to describe the process would be kinda like a snake slipping through rocks or going down into a hole. Most snakes don’t leave trails. And scientists might never have found Adria if it weren’t for the snakeskin. I mean, the mountains… Confused? A new series begins in Charleston, SC, where Kevin and the team introduce two projects: a brick 1840s “single house” – unique to Charleston’s historic downtown district – and a multi-generational 1890s home in a nearby transitioning neighborhood. SUBSCRIBE to This Old House: http://bit.ly/SubscribeThisOldHouse. Kevin meets the homeowners of the 1840 s Single House. Scott and Kathleen have lived in the suburbs for over 20 years and decided to move closer into the city because of its attractiveness and walkability. While touring the floors of the house, they discuss possible changes such as exposing the brick walls and reconfiguring some rooms. Tommy meets builder Mark at the brick kitchen house - a separate building once used for cooking and laundry by slaves. Mark shows Tommy the challenges in restoring the space. Then Kevin and Tommy drive to the next project to meet the homeowners of another historic home. The wooden two-story house, which has been in the same family for a long time, has been abandoned for over a decade. Homeowner Judith acquired it and plans to restore it back to the beauty that she remembers. She shares her fond childhood memories as she and her wife Julia give Tommy a tour of the first and second floors. Improvements to be made include straightening the house, opening a wall to create a new kitchen, and adding a back porch. Outside, Kevin and Richard talk about the challenges of houses that sit low to the ground and have no basement. Enjoying full-episodes of This Old House? How did they do that so quickly? I visited the lab whose work directly led to these first COVID vaccines, so you can learn how basic research connects to life-saving medicine. This is how to make a COVID-19 vaccine. Its depth is 7.4 mi. You can find it in the icy part of Russia where the winter temperature of -40°F is a common thing. Local scientists started to dig it in the 1970s. The grand plan was to reach the depth of 9.3 mi. It was a purely scientific project to study the Earth s crust and maybe get to the hot mantle. Up to the depth of 4.3 mi, the drill easily coped with granite rock. Then, denser layers came and broke the drill. The scientists had to change the drilling pattern. In the end, it resembled a tree with many branches. The deeper it went, the hotter it became. The temperature went up to 350°F. The equipment was constantly out of order and work was stopped completely in 1992. The place is now abandoned, overgrown with moss and rust. But it has its fair share of myths surrounding it too... #brightside TIMESTAMPS: The Kola Superdeep Borehole 0:06 A hole in the bottom of the ocean 3:46 The enchanting brilliance of diamonds 5:13 The longest oil wells 6:25 The largest diamond in North America 7:06 The deepest water well in the world 8:14 The deepest underground station 8:35 The deepest point in the ocean 8:54 How to dig water? 9:32 Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ Subscribe to Bright Side : https://goo.gl/rQTJZz ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Social Media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/brightside/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/brightgram/ 5-Minute Crafts Youtube: https://www.goo.gl/8JVmuC Stock materials (photos, footages and other): https://www.depositphotos.com https://www.shutterstock.com https://www.eastnews.ru ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For more videos and articles visit: http://www.brightside.me/

Discover the world’s largest organism: Pando, an enormous and ancient quaking aspen, and find out how it became so huge. -- The largest animal in the world is the blue whale, which weighs a massive 150 metric tons. Even so, it’s not remotely close to being the largest organism by weight. That title goes to an organism so huge that it’s estimated to weigh the equivalent of 40 blue whales. So what is this behemoth? And… where is it? Alex Rosenthal shares the story of the enormous and ancient Pando. Lesson by Alex Rosenthal, directed by Lisa LaBracio. Today we re going to share our idea of the perfect day in Toronto...in winter! If you watched the previous episode you ll know that I surprised Sam with a Toronto staycation and on Day 2, we set out to explore the city. We started off the morning with a hearty breakfast at Fran s Restaurant where we ordered French toast, chorizo and hash browns with eggs, and lots of coffee to wake up. This is a really cool eatery with a diner vibe and it was just a few blocks from our hotel. From there, we walked down to the ferry terminal and crossed over to Ward Island, which is the only of the Toronto Island that is open in the wintertime. The best views of the Toronto skyline are from the Toronto Islands, so this is one place that I always recommend to visitors. We had a fun morning strolling along the beach, walking through a birch forest, and admiring the cottages on the island. By the time we got back to the city, it was lunch time, so we made our way over to the Distillery District. This is a historic area in the city that houses industrial redbrick buildings from the Victorian Era, which have been converted into cafes, restaurants, art galleries, shops and more. Toronto s Distillery District is a pedestrian-only zone, so it s really fun to walk around, especially in winter when all the Christmas decorations are up. Here we found a Mexican restaurant called El Catrin Distileria where we ordered up tacos with green salsa and ribs with corn and mole sauce. Later that afternoon, we made our way over to The Porch for some rooftop skating. This is another fun winter activity in Toronto and the best part are the views of the CN Tower and the skyscrapers all around. The rink is made of synthetic ice, so it does take a little getting used to, but we had a good time. They offer skate and helmet rentals at the venue, and it is worth making a reservation as it can get busy. (As a heads up, if you bring your own skates, make sure you also bring a helmet or you ll get charged the rental fee!) Lastly, we ended our day in Toronto back at our hotel, where we ordered some room service and watched TV. Is there a better way to end a busy day of sightseeing than with truffle fries and a pizza? I think not! We hope this vlog gave you some ideas of what you can do with 24 hours in Toronto in winter. Thanks again for watching and we ll see you soon with more adventures! #Toronto #Staycation #Canada Places we visited during our day in Toronto: 📍 Fran s Restaurant for brunch 📍 Ward Island by ferry 📍 Distillery District 📍 El Catrin Distileria for Mexican food 📍 The Porch for rooftop ice skating 📍 One King Street West Hotel * * * * * * * * * * * * Perfect DAY in TORONTO, Canada! ❄️ | Things TO DO with 24 Hours in DOWNTOWN Toronto in WINTER 🇨🇦 GEAR WE USE Panasonic GH5: http://amzn.to/2yqTUyi Canon G7X ii: http://amzn.to/2yqtM6B Rode Video Micro: http://amzn.to/2wTguTM Joby Gorilla Pod: http://amzn.to/1PgoY5F SanDisk 16GB Extreme Pro: http://amzn.to/25KEErs * * * * * * * * * * * * SOCIAL MEDIA & TRAVEL BLOGS AUDREY: blog: http://thatbackpacker.com/ instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thatbackpacker/ facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thatbackpacker twitter: https://twitter.com/ThatBackpacker SAMUEL: blog: http://nomadicsamuel.com/ facebook: https://www.facebook.com/nomadicsamuel twitter: https://twitter.com/NomadicSamuel instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nomadicsamuel/ * * * * * * * * * * * * Music We Use: http://bit.ly/SamAudreyMusic
