Valuable camping hacks to make your trip better Summer is a perfect time for camping trips with your friends and family. Take a look at these hacks and tips that will make your traveling way more comfortable. If you can t swim and forgot your inflatable devices at home, just get a bunch of empty plastic bottles and bind them to yourself! They will help you stay afloat. If it s too hot outside and you can t stand the heat even in your camping tent, then use an air mattress and put a tent on it! It will be more comfortable to spend time in your tent on the water than on the ground. If you want to take a show in the wild, get a plastic bag, make tiny holes in it and fill it with water. Here you go ;) If your shoes got wet, we have a great hack to dry them quickly. Boil some water and put rocks in there. Once they warm up, put them inside of your shoes to absorb moisture. Keep watching this video, to know more valuable hacks that will save your camping trip! The original roof was held up by a traditional truss system. Our homeowners want to create a cathedral ceiling in this third-floor bonus room. Kevin finds Tommy and Charlie installing a beam system that will support the roof without the truss. SUBSCRIBE to This Old House: http://bit.ly/SubscribeThisOldHouse. The new addition will include a mudroom and bathroom. Because theres no attic above, it makes sense to bring ductwork and plumbing in from existing basement mechanicals and branch off into crawl space below the rooms. Kevin finds Mark McCullough starting the process of breaking through the existing stone foundation. Our Idea House is where we test new products. Kevin travels to New Canaan, Connecticut and meets builder Gordon Jacobsen who is installing a device for bringing natural light into dark areas of the house: its called a sun tunnel. Our homeowners have asked for a number of cooling zones. In a conventional HVAC system that could mean up to a half dozen condensers outside. Kevin finds Richard working on a more up to date plan that recuses the condenser count to two. Enjoying full-episodes of This Old House? Two wealthy scientists in particular— Othniel Charles Marsh and Edward Drinker Cope— competed to uncover these prehistoric monsters. Today we re going to tell the story of a quiet revolution in the 1960s that shifted our entire understanding of how the Earth works. We currently believe that the Earth s broken outer shell rises from the mantle and folds back in - kind of like a dance of creative destruction and reconstruction - giving us our continents and oceans, mountains and valleys, volcanoes, and earthquakes. And it would take a group of scientists all over the world to get us this grand unifying theory of plate tectonics. SOURCES Petersen, et al 2011. Fundamentals of Physical Geography. We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to go travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this #travelvlog to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling, and we didn’t want to stop after just one year! After achieving our new goal of 100 countries and then all 7 continents (check out our documentary here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FuFv4iF8wgg&t=1s), we had no plans to slow down, until 2020 decided to force us to ;) which is when we bought a converted Sprinter van to start exploring our own country for the first time. #Vanlife was a major adjustment and so different than flying every week like we were used to, but we are incredibly thankful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎
