Berlin is indeed a beautiful city that marries its rich past and diverse present. Here s our adventures from the five days that we were in Berlin, including two day trips that we took to neighbouring regions, Potsdam and Spreewald: https://thetravelintern.com/budget-berlin-guide/ 00:16 - Scoot Fly direct to Berlin from Singapore via Scoot! Highly recommend getting the long haul bundle meal too. 00:21 - Berlin Welcome Card For unlimited travel and discounted entrance fees, grab a Berlin Welcome Card for tourists only. Super worth it, and super fuss-free too! 00:26 - Brandenburg Gate This was once a symbol of division during the Cold War, but it now stands for and signifies German unity and freedom. 00:35 - Checkpoint Charlie Checkpoint Charlie was the only point from which foreigners could enter East Berlin from the West while the Berlin Wall was still up. Today, you can take a photograph with the actors dressed as American soldiers for 3 Euros! Otherwise, you can snap shots but it might be a little tricky! 00:45 - Reichstag Building, Reichstag Dome Up here, you can get a fantastic panoramic view of Berlin s city centre and learn more about the history of this building! Make sure to book your tickets to visit the Dome though, because slots run out very quickly. Don t worry, it s free! 00:54 - Mauerpark In the summer on Sundays, everyone s welcome to a mass karaoke session in the amphitheatre. The vintage market also draws lots of people to Mauerpark, young and old! 01:06 - Mustafa s Gemüse Kebap Touted as one of the best kebap joints in Berlin, you can queue up to an hour on certain days, no matter the season (yes, even in Winter in the snow..) If you re ever in Berlin, you HAVE to get one of these kebaps. Super yummy! 01:15 - Markthalle Neun Enjoy a wide variety of food on Street Food Thursdays in Markthalle Neun, from mac and cheese to slow-cooked boar, to artisanal ice-cream. 01:26 - Kneipe Klo Also known as a toilet-themed bar in Berlin, this bar has decorations lining the entire place that make it seem like it was made for Halloween 24/7! Warning: beware of jumpscares around every corner. 01:43 - Berlin Wall Memorial Where the Berlin Wall once stood, there are remnants of border houses that stood in between East and West Berlin in the past. 01:53 - Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe Home to 2,711 concrete slabs designed by American architect Peter Eisenman, its symbolism is open to interpretation, with the most common being that of a graveyard. 02:00 - Topography of Terror (Topographie des Terrors) Once the most feared site of Berlin, it has now been converted into a free public museum for visitors to learn more about the history of Berlin during the Nazi regime. 02:09 - Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp Just 35 kilometres away from Berlin, Oranienburg houses the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp. We recommend going on the tour led by SANDEMANs walking tours. 02:25 - East Side Gallery The longest open air gallery in the world that s free of charge and spans 1.3 kilometres. 02:35 - Burgermeister This joint used to house a public toilet, but has since been converted into one of Berlin s most popular burger joints. From scaling the Great Saint Rock (Meteora) to get to the top of the tallest rock in Meteora, to catching the Acropolis (Athens) in real life, to strolling along the streets of Oia (Santorini) and catching that classic sunset shot, here is our 9-day budget guide through Athens, Santorini and Meteora: https://thetravelintern.com/greece-budget-itinerary/ We spent under S$1.5K in total, including flights and accommodation. Greece doesn t have to be all that expensive! 00:08 - Scoot Scoot flies direct from Singapore to Athens and back. We recommend getting the long-haul meal bundle from them. ATHENS 00:19 - Acropolis It s that feeling you get when you see your history textbooks come to life. You ll be able to spot the famous Parthenon columns on top of a large flat rock from almost anywhere in the city. 00:22 - Athena temple Look out for the remains of the Theatre of Dionysus and a fully reconstructed Odeon of Herodes Atticus — a functioning stone theatre that hosts Greek as well as international performances between May – October. 00:23 - Ancient Agora Here, you ll see the Stoa of Attalos and the Temple of Hephaestus. We ll leave it up to your imagination! 00:42 - Monastiraki Area We visited the Monastiraki Flea Market to get some souvenirs. SANTORINI 00:53 - Oia Area Explore the streets of Oia, and search for the ruins of an old Byzantine Castle in Oia! 00:59 - Red Beach Take a dip in Red Beach, but to reach clearer waters, you will have to swim out quite a bit. It s crowded at all times of the day though. 01:02 - Oia Castle Sunset Point It s also in Oia that everyone hopes to catch the perfect sunset shot of Santorini s classic whitewashed houses carved into clifftops overlooking the caldera filled with water. 01:11 - Amoudi Bay For adrenaline junkies, be sure to go cliff jumping at Amoudi Bay! Super fun. 01:21 - Fira Get around Fira on an ATV/scooter. 01:23 - Santo Wines Head for a winery tour at Santo Wines. Book in advance though (only available online). It starts from 4:30pm and ends around 9:30pm depending on when the sun sets. 01:42 - Restaurant Meteora Have some local cuisine here at Restaurant Meteora, slightly pricier but yummy, yummy food! We had two meals here. It s that good :-) 01:50 - Scrambling Tour with Visit Meteora We scaled the Great Saint Rock, the tallest rock in Meteora, during our Scrambling Tour with Visit Meteora. If you ve seen our previous video, Singapore, our home. (The Singapore We Know), this is the behind-the-scenes video where we get to the details of how we prepared, filmed and executed the piece! It was an amazing experience for everyone who was involved, because it was the first time we were doing a Singapore-only piece, and one of the rare times we journeyed all across Singapore. It felt like a TTI trip, but not over the seas this time. : -) We were highly challenged doing up this video, but hey, if you re not challenged, you re never going to grow, right? :-) We hope you enjoy watching this just as much as we enjoyed creating both videos. :-) Here are the functions of the Sony A7 III that we used to create the video! (Super camera, btw!) 00:48 - Capturing movements seamlessly We used the Continuous Shooting: Hi+ function to capture the full movement and actions of Jelaine walking into the scene. This ensured that when stitched together, it would look seamless and smooth! 01:26 - Getting the perfect shot Whenever we shoot outside under the harsh light, or even in dark, low-light situations, the electronic viewfinder is most handy here to ensure that even in bad lighting conditions, you still get good shots! 01:49 - Improved battery life The Sony A7 III has an improved battery life that lasts 2.2x longer than older models! We were left with 45% even after a full day of shooting. No worries about battery life throughout the day. 02:24 - Lightweight equipment We built a custom rig for the hyperlapse section where we used one camera to photograph someone s pair of hands holding the camera in front. You can see this from 02:01 onwards. 03:03 - Ensuring sharp focused images We know that the sequence of Jelaine penny boarding across different places in Singapore looks like a video, but nope! They are all made of photos! Here, we ensure the clarity and sharpness of images by using the A7 III Fast Auto-Focus. God-sent, really! 03:20 - Better image quality Thanks to the A7 III 24.2 Megapixel Image Sensor, we can get photographs and shots with wayyyy better quality! For a video made of photographs, this really helps us ensure the best quality is retained! 03:44 - Wider angle of view Ever faced the issue of not being able to fit your subject fully into your camera screen? Well, fret not! Pack more into your frame with a full frame camera and wide lens and you re good to go! Let us know your thoughts! Locations that we shot at are listed down in our previous video~ #wearesingapore ---------------------------------------------- Produced by: Jerome Teo - http://instagram.com/jeromememe Sherry Wong - http://instagram.com/sherrified Hendric Tay - http://instagram.com/pohtecktoes Akif - http://instagram.com/akifkeith Jelaine Ng - http://instagram.com/jelaineshamen Jia Xuan Goh - http://instagram.com/jiajialiangteh Cherie Sim - http://instagram.com/cheriesyw Teo Xin Yee - http://instagram.com/potaeteo Michael Zheng - http://instagram.com/jiaxtar Isaac Soh - http://instagram.com/isaac_szw Vivian Chan - http://instagram.com/veebawmb Nicole Varella - http://instagram.com/heyoitsnicole Michelle Neo - http://instagram.com/rulelezz Edelyn Chua - http://instagram.com/chuaedelyn Travis Chan - http://instagram.com/meatpao Voiceover by: Jelaine Ng - http://instagram.com/jelaineshamen Sounds of Singapore by: Guan Petteson - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmCB... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ezov1... Time flies — It s already our fourth TTI Bootcamp! This time though, things were a litttttttle different. We wanted to spice things up a little, I mean, life is all about overcoming new challenges right? ;-) We split the entire team into 5 smaller teams, and sent each team to a different part of Vietnam! So Northern Vietnam consisted of Team Hanoi, Team Halong Bay, Team Sapa. While Central Vietnam consisted of Team Hoi An and Team Hue (who came together to also form Team Ba Na Hills)! Check out ALL our Vietnam content here: http://thetravelintern.com/vietnam/ 00:20 - TEAM SAPA This team decided that they wanted to scale the highest mountain in ALL of Vietnam — and they did. They definitely did. They scaled Mount Fansipan!!! 3,143metres high. They also visited some beautiful waterfalls with the Love & Silver Waterfalls Tour. 01:16 - TEAM HALONG BAY These 2 are our super chill ones from the team, and you guessed it, the chill ones deserved a 2D1N LUXURY DELUXE cruise along Halong Bay. During the cruise, they went kayaking and visited Titop Island! They also took other day trips out of Hanoi after their ~deluxe~ cruise. 02:06 - TEAM HANOI Of course, the FIRST THING to do in Hanoi is to get over your fear of the crazy, crazy traffic. And GRAB BIKE!!!!! Lotsa screaming initially, but you ll get used to it anyways. They also took day trips out of Hanoi and tried (keyword: TRIED) to be cool like the boatmen and boatwomen. 03:23 - TEAM BA NA HILLS (made of TEAM CENTRAL VIETNAM - Team Hoi An and Team Hue) I m sure most of y all have seen IG photos of the hands holding up the bridge in Vietnam — This is the place.Did you know that there s SO MANY things to do in the ultimate amusement park of Vietnam — Ba Na Hills! 03:51 - TEAM HUE This team was pretty adventurous too — hiking through the national parks and also bringing their takeaway food through the highs and lows of the park. They also got to visit beautiful caves! 04:25 - TEAM HOI AN The city of beautiful lanterns~ And also motion sickness-inducing boat adventure rides. Have you ever sat on a water buffalo? Neither have we, except Team Hoi An. 04:55 - THE CRUNCH (or should it be THE NIGHTMARE?) This is where we all congregate as an entire team and get started on our content. The aim: Everything to be done in a single night. Get to see our craziness explode and manifest. HAHA. ---------------------------------------------- Edited by: Akif - http://instagram.com/akifkeith Isaac Soh - http://instagram.com/isaacszw Read more about what went down: ► http://bit.ly/TTI-APbootcamp2 Follow us on our travel adventures on social media: ► @TheTravelIntern http://facebook.com/thetravelintern http://instagram.com/thetravelintern Learn about The Travel Intern Programme: ► https://thetravelintern.com/about-tra...
