This video for Bushmills Distillery Vacation Travel Guide is one of our older productions, but we wanted to share it with you to get some feedback on how these older clips compare to the more recent travel guides we’ve shot. Below are some links to those recent videos. Feel free to compare with this clip and comment below to let us know which ones you prefer, and what else you’d love to see from Expedia on YouTube! St. Petersburg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3ISUUO0CSo Kyoto: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jd1wzlwtKJ0 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When you’re ready to sample some legendary whiskey, head to Bushmills Distillery. Located in northern Ireland, your Bushmills Distillery tour isn’t just a stroll through an active liquor factory—it’s actually an exploration of the oldest distillery in the world. In 1608, Bushmills was the first to be granted a whiskey license. It’s been producing “the water of life” ever since, despite a number of challenges, including the malt tax of the 1850s and a catastrophic fire in 1885. Following the latter incident, Bushmills Distillery rebuilt and quickly got back to producing its alcoholic beverages. Bushmills Distillery still produces a number of Irish whiskeys on-site, but has also turned into a popular tourist destination for whiskey lovers and those who are curious about local history. Bushmills Distillery sightseeing includes a visit to the Mixing Room, where ingredients begin their journey toward whiskey. The Fermentation Hall is where the yeast is added to the mixture, and then there’s the Distillery itself, which is home to numerous copper pot stills. These items combined give Bushmills its unique taste, and are featured prominently on the brand’s label. You can also check out the Cask Room and Bottling Room, among others. Don’t forget to say hello to the Grey Lady, a reportedly friendly spirit that supposedly inhabits the grounds. When are you planning to visit Bushmills Distillery? The best way to enjoy the tranquil scenery and atmosphere of Tasik Kenyir is by a boat. House Boating is a unique way of experiencing the sights and places in Kenyir. It may not offer five star facilities, but it does furnish a "thousand star" jungle atmosphere minus the need for strenuous trekking and camping. #MalaysiaTrulyAsia #TourismMalaysia http://www.malaysia.travel http://facebook.malaysia.travel http://twitter.malaysia.travel http://instagram.malaysia.travel

Rick Steves Europe Travel Guide | Fifteenth-century Florence was the home of the Renaissance and the birthplace of our modern world. Temple Bar is the lively, sometimes rambunctious entertainment district of Dublin, Ireland. When you’re ready to shop, eat, or dance the night away, this is the area of the city you need to frequent. A tour of Temple Bar reveals narrow cobblestone streets, many of them virtually unchanged since medieval times. Despite its seemingly ancient layout, you’ll find a thoroughly modern assortment of restaurants, nightclubs, cafes, and shops taking up residence here. Your Temple Bar sightseeing will no doubt take you to the River Liffey, which runs through Dublin. When you’re ready to explore a little of Ireland’s history, you’ll find the Jeanie Johnston Tall Ship and Famine Museum right on the Liffey. This replica of an 1847 tall ship provides tours of its cramped interiors and offers a glimpse of life for Irish immigrants who made their way across the Atlantic. Adjacent to Temple Bar is Trinity College, better known as Ireland’s oldest university. This beautiful campus is not to be missed; explore the classic architecture of Parliament Square, or wander through the Campanile—just make sure you don’t do so just before finals if you are a student, as rumor has it such an action leads to bad luck. What’s your favorite part of Temple Bar? https://www.expedia.com/Cork.d603083.Destination-Travel-Guides Come travel with us in Cork City! For the inside scoop on this charming destination, watch our Ireland travel guide video. Cork City is unique in that it’s a city on an island, surrounded by the River Lee’s two channels. In fact, many of the city’s streets are built over waterways, so expect to cross countless bridges during your stay. The quaint town center is also located upstream from Cork City Harbour, the world’s second-largest natural harbor. Take a city tour and revel in the architectural splendor of this historical town. You can’t miss Saint Fin Barre’s Cathedral, which looks like a castle with its three spires and gothic designs. Dating back to 1870, this gargoyle-adorned cathedral is made from limestone, bath stone, and marble. Check out the magnificent stained glass and the intricate carvings scattered throughout the complex. For another look at the town’s past, make your way over to the Cork City Gaol. The prison originally opened in 1824, holding both men and women, but in 1878, it became the Women’s Gaol. During British control and the Irish War of Independence, many Republican women were imprisoned here. The gaol closed in 1923, but oddly enough, it became the site of the city’s first radio broadcasting station. During your visit, take a guided tour of the prison grounds and learn fascinating stories of the past. Looking for more exciting things to do in Cork City? Shop around the English Market. With roots dating back to 1788, this market is considered one of the oldest of its kind. Saunter around the countless vendors selling fresh poultry, meat, cheese, cakes, and more. A feast for your eyes—and stomach—you’ll find local treats, crafts, and even souvenirs at this eclectic bazaar. If you don’t mind cruising roughly 6 miles northwest of the city, head to the famous Blarney Castle. You’ve probably heard of the legend, which says that if you kiss the Blarney Stone you’ll receive the gift of eloquence, so why not give it a shot? Besides puckering up, you’ll come across other seemingly magical spots, such as the Witch’s Stone and Wishing Steps. Explore the surrounding meadows, view the ruins of the Court, and venture into the dungeon. Dublin often gets all the attention, but many Corkonians like to consider Cork City the “real capital” of Ireland. Visit this harbor city and decide for yourself if it deserves the capital title. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Follow us on social media: Twitter: https://twitter.com/Expedia Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/expedia Instagram: http://instagram.com/expedia Pinterest: http://www.pinterest.com/Expedia/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+Expedia -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Follow us on our travel blog, Viewfinder: http://viewfinder.expedia.com/
