It took me 8 months to learn how to do this, but I was only picking up the bike and running to the end of the driveway and back every day. I wasn t "ACTIVELY" trying to learn. Meaning... I wasn t struggling and trying to make my brain learn. I simply got on the bike every day, tried to operate it to the end of the driveway, turned around and tried to operate it back. The goal was to understand how my brain figured things out on its own, without trying to force it to. Many people have built bikes like this and figured it out in much less than 1 day by staying on the bike until they were able to master it. I had no timelines, and was using this as an exploratory activity to learn how I learn. Do not misinterpret this to mean that I struggled and tried very hard every day for 8 months. In which Craig Benzine teaches you about delegation and informal powers. What are all these federal agencies about? Well, the President has a lot of stuff to do as the chief executive, and as much as Americans like to talk about personal responsibility, the President can t really do all this stuff alone. Because it s a huge job! Same deal with Congress. So, they delegate authority. This is where all the government agencies and stuff come from. Congress creates them to actually get around to enforcing laws. You ll learn about stuff like OSHA, the FDA, and maybe even the FCC. Although you hear an occasional complaint about bureaucracies and such, the business of government wouldn t get done without agencies and delegation. Venus is a gorgeous naked-eye planet, hanging like a diamond in the twilight -- but its beauty is best looked at from afar. Even though Mercury is closer to the sun, Venus is the hottest planet in the solar system, due to a runaway greenhouse effect, and has the most volcanic activity in the solar system. Its north and south poles were flipped, causing it to rotate backward and making for very strange days on this beautiful but inhospitable world. After the Atlantic Crossing we arrived to the BVI, Tortola. Got to work with a few jobs that needed to be done. Scraped the Hull, installed a new W.S.I after the assy halliard ripped it off, and a few other little jobs we wont bore you with like cleaning the bilge and vinegaring the sinks and toilets to get rid of calcium build up... Got back into the swing of things and finally got our normal sleeping routine back (yay). Then we Island hopped and explored the beautiful British Virgin Islands before heading to Sint Maarten. How good are coconuts. Ps. All spearing done outside BVI waters :) Hope you like the video!! This week Craig continues our conversation on presidential powers by looking at those NOT found in the Constitution - implied or inherent powers. We’ll talk about how the President uses their power to negotiate executive agreements, recommend legislative initiatives, instate executive orders, impound funds, and claim executive privilege in order to get things done. Implied powers are kind of tough to tack down, as they aren’t really powers until they’re asserted, but once they are, most subsequent Presidents chose not to give them up. So we’ll try to cover those we’ve seen so far and talk a little bit about reactions to these sometimes controversial actions from the other branches of Congress.
