Succulents are great low maintenance indoor plants that can be used to add life to any room. This DIY planter looks great as a centerpiece on a table or can be wall mounted with a couple of L-brackets. I made it from a short piece of a 4x4 post by drilling 2” diameter holes 2.5” deep. I coated the planter with Minwax Polycrylic to make it water proof. I made a simple one with three holes for plants first and then made a really cool series of faceted planters with asymmetrical holes for the plants. 5 or 6 of these planters could be made out of a single 8 foot long 4x4 making them an excellent option for DIY gifts. Today, FINALLY, Craig is going to talk about Free Speech! Now, free speech is so important because it not only allows you to critique the government, but it also protects you from the government. But it s essential to remember that not ALL speech is protected equally under the First Amendment, and just because you have a right to free speech doesn t mean your employer, for instance, can t fire you for something you say (unless your work for the government and then things get a bit more complicated). So we ll take a look at a couple significant Supreme Court cases that have gotten us to our current definition of free speech, and we ll also discuss some of the more controversial aspects of free speech - like hate speech. Landscape designer Terry Ryan of Cubic Yard Design transformed a small backyard with a cramped layout into a lush, garden-lover’s oasis. See how he maximized the space to create an incredible outdoor living area. The backyard was originally segmented by a garage, which blocked the main part of the garden and resulted in overgrown greenery. Once removed, zones were created, including an outdoor dining spot with a carport that doubles as a protected area for rainy weather. One of the homeowners has a European heritage, which is incorporated into the garden’s aesthetic. Pea gravel and stone, similar to what you’d find in a European garden, are used throughout. The backyard includes a homegrown vegetable garden as well as diverse plants and flowers, requiring an investment in time and heart – perfect for an avid gardener.

In which Jacob Clifford and Adriene Hill teach you about Economic Systems and Macroeconomics. So, economics is basically about choices. We ll look at some of the broadest economic choices when we talk about the difference between planned economies and market economies. We ll get into communism, socialism, command economies, and capitalism. We ll look at how countries choose the kind of system they re going to use (spoiler alert: many end up with mixed economies). We ll also look into how individuals make economic choices. Crash Course is now on Patreon!
