Pickled Pigs Feet! (Patitas de Cerdo) I did not ever think I d find something like this in Mexico. We stumbled across these in Celaya, Guanajuato and I had to make a vlog about it. Trying strange street food is a hobby of mine. The weirder the better. I think we all need to try things once, including food. Mexican Food is on the rise. With many popular chefs and travel TV hosts praising it s diversity and complexity far beyond Nachos and Burritos, it will be no time before it becomes world famous. I agree with them all. We were visiting the Mexican state of Guanajuato to see the Mummy Museum (Museo de Momias), as well as the Exploding Hammer Festival near Celaya. As a fun little activity, we went to a market to learn how to make Gorditas, a Mexican street food whose main component is a stuffed corn tortilla. Beside this little gorditas stand was a lady selling strange things in jars. I was curious and asked. She then pulled out all kids of different feet... and I just had to try one and vlog it. How did it taste? I think my reaction said it all. It was quite slimy and tasted a bit like sour stewed chicken. I realize it was pork, but I didn t really taste like it. How it melted into jello in my mouth made me react the way I did. Taste-wise ok. Texture-wise... Nasty. I don t think I would try it again! Eating strange foods while I travel has always been a guilty pleasure of mine. The more weird, slimy, gross, nasty ... the better. I think it s amazing that the locals think these things are normal. Who s to say who s taste buds are right? I think we react too quickly to new street foods! Like chicken flavoured gummy bears... Like 20 day old chicken left to dry on a car dashboard, then soaked in vinegar. My reaction was decent I think. Mexico is an amazing place for street food. I would rank it equal to Thailand. On top of the 100 or so different street foods I ve found so far, It seems there is no end the variations on each of them from state to state. Chicken feet was a brand new one I associated with Asia beforehand. Mexico you always surprise me. Would anyone else try these? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ϟ My Camera Gear ϟ Main Camera: http://geni.us/MyCamera My Favourite Lens: http://geni.us/Sony1635mm My 2nd Favourite Lens: http://geni.us/Sony90mm Low Light/Portrait Lens: http://geni.us/Sony55mm Love this Microphone: http://geni.us/RODEMic My SD Cards: http://geni.us/SanDiskPRO Camera Clips: http://geni.us/PDClip Cool Gadget to switch Lenses: http://geni.us/PDLensKit My Camera Strap: http://geni.us/PDStrap Keeping Safe on Rainy Days: http://geni.us/PDRainShell Great Tripod with a Funny Name: http://geni.us/Tripod This new Gimbal I love: http://geni.us/NewGimbal My Flying Camera: http://geni.us/DJI4K ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ♥ Friends ♥ Check out my friend Ryan! In a zero-g plane I experimented with flames and slinkies with surprising results. Check out e-penser s video: http://ve42.co/EPzeroG Check out Physicsgirl s video: http://ve42.co/PGzeroG Thanks to Novespace: http://ve42.co/novespace Special thanks to Patreon Supporters: Tony Fadell, Donal Botkin, Nick Luchsinger, Jeff Straathof, Zach Mueller, Ron Neal, Nathan Hansen The zero-g plane allows for a lot of experiments to be conducted without the expense of getting equipment into orbit. Apparently 80% of microgravity research can be performed in a zero-gravity plane, which is much cheaper than going to space. The flame from the lighter seemed much lazier in zero-g because without weight there is no buoyant force and therefore no convection. This makes the process of combustion more challenging because it s difficult for oxygen to reach the fuel. Music from the Epidemic Sound: http://ve42.co/epidemic "Serene Story 2" "In Orbit 2"

Step inside a light-filled historical home with a stunning modern interior. See how designer Ines Mazzotta of Kelly Hopter Interiors updated the 1877 space to fit her family’s lifestyle. To respect its 19th century bones, Ines introduced applied trim to the walls, crown molding and Victorian-style ceiling medallions for a traditional touch. The kitchen was already renovated when she and her family moved in, but it wasn’t in their style. To avoid a full renovation, Ines gave the kitchen a facelift by painting the cabinets in a two-toned palette of black and white. She also kept the original flooring throughout the house, as well as the non-functioning fireplace, which now acts as a decorative statement. Both the living room and family room are furnished with comfortable, family-friendly furniture. In the master bedroom, tall ceilings keep things light and airy while luxe bedding steals the show. Before digging, always call a utility locating service to locate underground pipes and wires. 2. Excavate the area for the patio down to subsoil by hand or using an excavator. 3. Rake out the subsoil to a smooth grade and then compact it with a gas plate compactor. 4. Fill the area with a base material that’s a mixture of ¾” stone and stone dust about 3” at a time. Rake out the mixture smooth and then compact it with the gas plate compactor. Repeat until the base material is about 3” below finished grade. 5. To cut the granite to length, drill a series of 3-4” deep holes on 3 sides of the stone. Insert feathers and wedges into every hole and then tap each one a little at a time with a mallet until the stone breaks. 6. Use the excavator to move the four granite stones for the fire pit into position. 7. Fill the center of the firepit about a third of the way with ¾” stone. 8. Apply a layer of stone dust over the base material and compact it with the plate compactor. 9. Lay the bluestone in place. To properly level the natural stone, use a mallet to hit down the high spots. If there are low spots or voids under the stone, add more stone dust to fill those areas. 10. Once all the stones are installed and level, sweep stone dust into the joints. If the stones are dry, polymeric sand can also be used. Turn off the main plumbing supply to the house and drain as much water as possible from the pipes by opening all faucets and fixtures and then opening a drawoff valve near the main. 2. Determine the location of the prefilter. If necessary, attach a piece of plywood for attaching the filter bracket. 3. Use a tubing cutter to cut in to the main water supply pipe. 4. Clean, apply flux, and solder the adapter fittings to transition into the filter housing on a workbench to keep the heat away from the filter. Once cool, connect the adapter fittings to the filter housing, using thread sealing tape on threaded connections. 5. Clean, flux, and then dryfit the remaining connections. Include “T” fittings that allow water into and out of the filter, but also connect to a shutoff valve that serves as a bypass. Include a shutoff valve for water entering the filter and a shutoff valve for water leaving the filter. 6. In normal operation, the bypass valve remains in the closed position and the two filter valves are in the open position. If the filter requires service, those valves should be reversed, allowing untreated water into the building temporarily. 7. Once all connections have been made, turn water pressure back on to the building and check for leaks. 8. Follow manufacturer instructions to properly activate the carbon filter.
