Parque de los Desvelados or Park of the Sleepless is an abandoned sculpture park South West of Pamplona, Spain. Exploring this place has been on my mind for a while, I came across a list of top 5 creepiest locations in the world, and have been hoping to visit ever since. This field of skulls was built as a Momento Mori for visitors. It s a reminder that at some point, whether we are rich or poor, famous or forgotten, we all come to the same end. The creator wanted us to wanted the park to think about life, and also death. Luis Garcia Vidal built these giant skeletons in the Spanish country side for 30 years starting in 1971. There are approximately 7 here, but they are getting increasing had to find due to how they were created. Luis twisted the branched of sumac trees together, then wrapped these in chicken wire and metal screen. Then, he coated these with a thick layer of white chalky lime paint. It s been 10 years since his death, and many more decades since their creation, many are being consumed by the forest, the wire becoming undone, and the twisted sumac taking life again. Why did he build them this way? Maybe he thought that these sculptures, like life, should eventually return to the earth. Mariannela and I really loved exploring this place. We were completely alone until the very end (watch the outro, a bit scary). Hope you enjoy the Park of the Sleepless! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ϟ My Camera Gear ϟ Main Camera: http://geni.us/MyCamera My Favourite Lens: http://geni.us/Sony1635mm My 2nd Favourite Lens: http://geni.us/Sony90mm Low Light/Portrait Lens: http://geni.us/Sony55mm Love this Microphone: http://geni.us/RODEMic My SD Cards: http://geni.us/SanDiskPRO Camera Clips: http://geni.us/PDClip Cool Gadget to switch Lenses: http://geni.us/PDLensKit My Camera Strap: http://geni.us/PDStrap Keeping Safe on Rainy Days: http://geni.us/PDRainShell Great Tripod with a Funny Name: http://geni.us/Tripod This new Gimbal I love: http://geni.us/NewGimbal My Flying Camera: http://geni.us/DJI4K ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ♥ Friends ♥ Mariannela Cataño - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLsdv9V82CHVVEw5QP-OSow ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ♫ Music ♫ “Ambient Ocean" - Abir187 "Getting Tipsy 2" - Martin Landh from Epidemic Sound (http://www.epidemicsound.com) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ☎ Say Hi Here ☎ ✧ Snapchat: kickthegrind ✧ Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/kickthegrind ✧ Tweetz: http://www.twitter.com/KickTheGrind ✧ Facebook Fanpage: http://www.facebook.com/KicktheGrindTV ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ✯ Experiences over Possessions ✯ Kick the Grind ✯ -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Join us as we visit Wrocław, Poland in this travel guide highlighting some of the best things to do in the city. Our surprise one month trip around Poland (we originally intended on only a week or so) allowed us to travel slowly and visit destinations we wouldn t have visited otherwise. One of those spots, Wrocław, ended up being one of our favorite spots along the way. With a cool University Quarter, Old Town Square, Cathedral Island and laidback atmosphere it didn t take us long to feel at home. Come find out 10 things you can do in Wrocław below: 20 Things to do in Wroclaw City Tour | Poland Travel Guide: Intro - 00:00 Eating a Toasty Sandwich - 00:21 1) University Quarter of the Old Town (Uniwersytet Wrocławski / Universität Breslau) - 02:33 2) Chapel (Parish of the Most Holy Name of Jesus - Kościół - Uniwersytecki p.w. We also cover off-the-beaten-path outdoor activities you won t find in a typical Wrocław tourism brochure, Wroclaw itinerary or Wrocław, Poland city tour. 10 Things to do in Wrocław, Poland Travel Guide In today’s video we’re taking you around Wroclaw. This was the second stop of our month-long trip through Poland, and we liked it right from Day 1. Our visit to the city was spent wandering through the University Quarter, cruising down the Oder River, stumbling into a secret courtyard, and enjoying a tasty meal or two along the way. The following is our travel guide to some of the best things to do in Wroclaw, Poland: The University Quarter is located in the north end of the Old Town and it’s worth visiting even if your days as a student are over. Here you’ll find the University of Wroclaw, which is one of the oldest academic institutions in Central Europe. The architecture is also stunning! I mean, could you imagine being a student here? Since we couldn’t visit the interior of the university, we stopped by the university church, also known as the Parish of the Most Holy Name of Jesus. Admission is free of charge, though donations are welcome, and once you’re in, don’t forget to look up! Continuing our random wanderings through Wroclaw, we reached the Ossolineum, which quickly piqued our curiosity. Once a hospital and convent, and later a college, today it houses one of the largest scientific libraries in Poland as well as the national archive. We visited the courtyard surrounded by mirrored windows and hydrangeas, and if felt like a secret garden. Cathedral island is the oldest part of Wroclaw. It was formerly an island that sat between two branches of the Oder River, and while that’s no longer the case, it still has a cathedral. With much better weather, we then followed the previous day’s path back to Cathedral Island. Along the way, we visited the Silver Arch, which is a pretty cool sculpture on one of the smaller islands, and then it was time for a river cruise. Our next stop was Hala Targowa, or Market Hall. It’s a nice spot to hit up to get your daily supply of fresh fruits, deli meats, cheese and pastries, for a delicious yet affordable do-it-yourself meal. And that’s a wrap for our visit to Wroclaw! As always, if you have any places to add to this list or any tips for fellow travellers share those below. Until next time and happy travels! This is part of our Travel in Poland video series showcasing Polish food, Polish culture and Polish cuisine. Music by Dyalla Swain: https://soundcloud.com/dyallas

I love having my expectations blown away. I had seen some photos of Gaztelugatxe and couldn t believe something like this could be built. A tiny stone church on the top of an island mountain, with a zigzagging bridge connecting it to the northern coast of Spain. It seemed like a scene from a movie... or maybe season 7 episode 4 of an HBO hit series called Game of Thrones. Yeah, maybe more like that. DRAGONSTONE! Gaztelugatxe is an islet (small island) on the coast of the Spanish province of Biscay in Basque Country. At it s peak, there is a hermitage called San Juan de Gaztelugatxe which was build to honour John the Baptist. This church is 1000 years old, and with its winding staircase, makes you feel you re approaching a medieval castle. Exploring it was a highlight of my travel life. We arrived to see an amazing sunrise beginning to peek over the coast. We had it to ourselves at this time, and recommend you visit then too. Mariannela and I made this travel vlog earlier this year during our 1 month road trip through northern Spain. We grabbed a camper van from Indie Campers, and spent the majority of our time in Basque Country, and all the videos we made are a bit of a different style as the others. We also had a lot of fun with the MAVIC PRO drone from DJI. Some of the best views I ve seen yet. This place was unbelievable. Also, I came across a lot of great videos of Basque Country through my friends Alex and Marko Ayling from the Vagabrothers. Make sure to check them out as well. If you re a fan of urbex or exploring abandoned places, this needs to be on your bucket list. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ϟ My Camera Gear ϟ Main Camera: http://geni.us/MyCamera My Favourite Lens: http://geni.us/Sony1635mm My 2nd Favourite Lens: http://geni.us/Sony90mm Low Light/Portrait Lens: http://geni.us/Sony55mm Love this Microphone: http://geni.us/RODEMic My SD Cards: http://geni.us/SanDiskPRO Camera Clips: http://geni.us/PDClip Cool Gadget to switch Lenses: http://geni.us/PDLensKit My Camera Strap: http://geni.us/PDStrap Keeping Safe on Rainy Days: http://geni.us/PDRainShell Great Tripod with a Funny Name: http://geni.us/Tripod This new Gimbal I love: http://geni.us/NewGimbal My Flying Camera: http://geni.us/DJI4K ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ♥ Friends ♥ Featuring the lovely Mariannela Cataño https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLsdv9V82CHVVEw5QP-OSow ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ♫ Music ♫ “Ocean" - Agrostyle "Getting Tipsy 2" - Martin Landh from Epidemic Sound (http://www.epidemicsound.com) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ☎ Say Hi Here ☎ ✧ Snapchat: kickthegrind ✧ Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/kickthegrind ✧ Tweetz: http://www.twitter.com/KickTheGrind ✧ Facebook Fanpage: http://www.facebook.com/KicktheGrindTV ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ✯ Experiences over Possessions ✯ Kick the Grind ✯ -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the Japanese town of Kanazawa, everything glimmers in *gold*. The town is responsible for producing 99 percent of all the gold leaf in the country. The gold foil, known as kinpaku, is pounded down to 0.0001 millimeters and sold to local craftsmen to be used on bowls, chopsticks, statues and even food. For the artisans responsible for creating kinpaku, keeping a valuable tradition alive is its own reward. This Great Big Story was inspired by Genesis. Krakow alternate spellings: Kraków, Cracow, Krakau, 克拉科夫 20 Things to do in Kraków, Poland Travel Guide video transcript: We kicked off this trip to Poland with a visit to Krakow, a city people have been telling us to visit for years and now we know why. Krakow in the summertime was wonderful! We spent our time enjoying castle views from the river side, exploring neighbourhoods covered in street art, eating some of the best pierogie of our lives, and also discovering what we think may be the best ice cream. The following is our travel guide to some of the best things to do in Krakow! Wawel Castle is Krakow s crowning jewel, and for centuries it was the residence of the kings of Poland. You can see a mix of Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque architecture all in one place. While in the city, we also had to walk the Royal Route, which was once the historic coronation path of Polish kings. After visiting the basilica, we spent a bit of time walking the Main Square, which just so happens to be Europe s largest medieval town square. And that’s it for our visit to Krakow! We hope this video gave you a few ideas of things to do around the city. If you have any other places to add to this list or any tips for fellow travellers visiting Krakow feel free to share those. This is part of our Travel in Poland video series showcasing Polish food, Polish culture, Polish cuisine while visiting Kraków Polska.
