Every year, the Costume Institute at the Met establishes a new exhibit highlighting designers and/or a theme or moment in fashion. This year, the museum brought to life the theme of punk. In an exhibit called Punk: Chaos to Couture, which showcases from May 9 to August 14, 2013, the Met will examine the impact of punk on high fashion from its birth in the UK in the 1970s to today featuring designers like Vivienne Westwood, Versace, and even Karl Lagerfeld. The stars came out in their best red carpet fashion for the annual Met Gala to launch the exhibit and show off the best of punk. While FashionTV argues that many were not punk enough, our highlights let the viewers make that decision for themselves.
