Hey guys! A lot of you have been asking for a video like this for a while and I finally got around to filming and editing it! The video shows you my weekly routine of how I care for and shape my nails. Do keep in mind though that the video is sped up, so when I do things like pushing back my cuticles and filing my nail I actually do them at about half the speed shown in the video. I m also trying something kind of new in this video which is a voice over! Is this something that you guys would like to see/hear more of in my videos, or do you prefer just having captions? Or would you like to see a combination of voice over AND captions? Or a voice over in the video and then a written explanation in the description? So many options. Let me know in the comments below, I m curious about your feedback! ---------- PRODUCTS USED: China Glaze Orange Cuticle Oil • I ve been using this cuticle oil for a while, mostly because I got it as a gift a few years ago and haven t bothered looking for a new one since I still have quite a bit of this left. I haven t tried any other cuticle oils, so I can t really compare this product to any others in terms of effectiveness. (I have heard good things about Bliss Kiss cuticle oil though). • Available at drugstores Simply Peel Liquid Latex Barrier • This is my favourite latex barrier. I use it when pushing back my cuticles to protect the skin around my nails from the drying effects of the lye in cuticle remover. https://www.myblisskiss.com?rfsn=1932045.89bd86 Deborah Lippmann Cuticle Remover • This is another product where I haven t tried out any others and therefore can t compare its quality. With that being said, I find that this cuticle remover works well, and I have bought it again after my initial purchase. This is one that I ve been trying out recently; to me it looks and applies exactly like a cuticle oil, but the box claims that the "Jojoba oil with keratin proteins bonds to the natural nail to strengthen weakened or damaged nails while restoring moisture." I personally haven t been using it enough to notice any difference from it, but it s been working pretty well in addition to my regular cuticle oil. https://cnd.com/products/nail-essentials/nail-treatments/rescuerxx Bliss Kiss Crystal Nail File • After switching from regular emery boards to glass files I will NEVER go back. Glass files are so much gentler on your nails while at the same time filing away more of the nail with less pressure. I used to go through a ton of emery boards because they would wear down quickly, but that isn t the case with glass files. Definitely worth the investment, (but make sure you invest in a good one; I got a free glass file with an OPI polish and it was absolutely useless). http://www.myblisskiss.com/bliss-kiss-crystal-nail-file/ Essie Grow Stronger Base Coat • I ve been using this base coat for a while, mostly out of habit. My nails are naturally strong so I don t really need a strengthener, but I ve heard some nail artists say that strengthening base coats make your nails brittle and snap easier but I haven t found this to be the case with this base coat. http://www.essie.com/nail-care/base-coat/grow-stronger.aspx Lush Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter • This product technically isn t part of my weekly nail care routine, but it s something I use often so I wanted to include it in the video as well. Whereas most of these product I ll use once I week when I do my cuticle and reshape my nails (with the exception of the cuticle oil), with this product I apply it on my cuticles before bed every night as a kind of "cuticle mask" if you will. The butter itself seems kind of expensive, but it s very hydrating and a little goes a long way.
