Celadon glazes were invented in China but were adopted by Korean potters during the 9th century. By the 12th century, Korean potters had expanded their ornamentation techniques to produce pieces such as this maebyeong bottle decorated with plum trees and bamboo (which I used here as the inspiration for this design!)
